I ran to the north gate of the fort, hoping not to be too late, I prefer not to lose a member of my initial group. During my journey Vali joined me, to be exact he caught up with me and then passed me, but in the end, we arrived basically at the same time only to see a ten-foot-tall brown-skinned bald ogre he uses a hammer of war as a weapon, the head of the Warhammer and basically the size of Isabela.
If anyone is hit squarely by the hammer it will turn into a red stain, I don't believe that even my level three armor with runes would be intact after being dented by the ogre's hammer.
"Vali! Wait for an opportunity to mow down the ogre with your magic, don't hold back!"
I walked towards the ogre with my weapons close at hand ready to test the hardness of the ogre's body, my sword even easily passed through his hard skin, this was not a big surprise because his legs already had several cuts, but unfortunately the cuts made by Isabela could barely draw blood from the ogre. His flesh was really thick and tough, even though it cut blood it only ran lightly through the cuts.
It seems like waiting for him to bleed to death is not a good strategy, this golem wasn't designed with this weakness which is unfair, if he was supposed to mimic a normal golem, he should be able to die from blood loss. But before we got into despair, I seized the moment Isabela used her aura along with her water element to create a bungee cord and bind the ogre.
Despite having a massive amount of mana in the ogre's body, he doesn't even have an elemental energy in his body, Isabela managed to tie the golem taking advantage of a moment he ran out of space to use his strength. Without the support to rotate its body, the ogre ended up having its upper part tied by Isabela's rope.
I obviously took this moment to attack the ogre's foot, I didn't pierce his foot, I aimed further down, my sword pierced the side of his foot and I raised his sword pierced foot. As I jogged the ogre to the ground, Vali summoned a two-foot-long wind blade, but while its size wasn't intimidating the amount of mana and elemental energy it had is pretty intimidating.
The wind blade glowed a radiant emerald green, it took Vali a long time to cast such a strong spell. The wind blade went straight against the helpless ogre's eye, when hit by Vali's magic the ogre's head was blown up, the wind blade was not made to cut his head off, but penetrate it and then explode.
This was a very violent magic, and with it the last champion of this test came to an end. Yeah, I think it's very strange, this test was much easier than the last one.
During this test we had one less participant ended quietly, even the first test was, but difficult because the enemies were strong and complicated and would attack in formation taking advantage of their superior numbers. But during this second test we only had to face a few dozen weaker enemies and a few stronger champions.
We may have had a casualty during the test, but the main cause of it was the fact that there was no gray core warrior protecting that gate, if the idiot I killed was there I doubt the golem killer would have been able to kill him or kill him. the mage, he no Massimo would prevent them from fighting with all their strength, because they would be busy fighting with his leftovers.
"We were lucky to be in your group, Ulric. If it weren't for the traps that killed most of the level one animal, I would have had a very big problem defending my gate when I was surrounded by countless animals."
Isabela raised a point that I had forgotten, the traps that detonated at the beginning of the animals' attack must have killed a good number of them. I didn't get much help from them at the north gate because the first batch of animals doesn't trigger many of them, but it seems that after I leave the north gate, the second batch of golems triggers the rest of the traps, easing the pressure on Isabela.
Probably the traps around the fort did their job and decreased the number of low-level golems, it seems that the considerable amount of gold I decided to spend on my explosives turned out to be money well spent. After killing the remaining golems, the survivors were gathered in the center of the fort to wait.
I believe this test is over, but you never know, just when the colored snow appears it means the test is over and I don't see a trace of it. So, I decided to climb on the roof of the fort and use my eyes to see if there was any aura of mana or elemental energy, but taking the energy from the forest and the air I can't find anything else.
It took more than ten minutes for a colored snow to appear, I don't know if the delay was because they were calculating our grade or if they were taking the time to prepare the next test. The snow swallowed all the hard and after that I found myself alone in my fog, maybe I got too far away from my team and yes, the transfer can't let us all together this time, I hope I won't even have a problem in the third test because of this.
When the snow began to retreat, I no longer find it in a fort or even in a forest, I am in a dark cave. I feel the dampness in the cave, but there isn't a very bad smell in it and the sounds I dare are just the current of water, it feels like I've been teleported to a cave with an underground river.
When using my eyes, I find mana and elemental energy in the walls, nothing unusual in them, but I can't even find a different source of energy other than the cave environment, but as I can easily see the cave layout, I notice that the three walks different for this room, and aside from the cardinal differences I can only notice that one of the paths has a small stream of water running through it.
I followed the path where the water passed, the tunnel got a little smaller, but I could still walk smoothly through it. My walk through the cave tunnels took almost an entire hour, I think this test is going very wrong.
I haven't encountered a single enemy or difficulty in almost an entire hour and that means this roll is a saving throw or that my team is suffering a lot while I'm stuck in these tunnels. When I finally saw that the narrow tunnel I was passing seems to have come to an end as I can see it would enter a wider room, I slowed down and prepared for combat.
But as I enter the cave, I finally see a sign of life, or in this case the teacher's message, in front of me a turtle-shaped origami glowing green on a small platform. When you get the origami, it unfolds into a page that glows green, it is written in black on it.
'You're screwed, your team is surrounded by enemies and the only chance for them to survive and with your help, but to find them and be able to save them you need to retrieve the magic tool, it's hidden in the dark labyrinth protected by a Guardian, only after retrieving the magic tool can you reach your team and save them, but if it takes too long, they may all be dead before your return. Try not to die idiot, you shouldn't have killed the other idiot for being idiot, that's karma."
It looks like this test was customized to be a punishment for killing the idiot during the last test, I don't regret doing that now, but if the rest of my team is dead before I get the magic tool then I'll regret having killed the idiot. Hope they can last some time against them enemies that must be golems, I doubt my team will last long because there isn't one of them that is very good at defense, and in this kind of situation it's usually more effective to have a defensive fighter or Earth element mage.
Since it seems like I only have one enemy in front of me is time and my biggest obstacle, so I decided to start running for real to make up for the time I already lost here. I start running using my aura and elemental wind energy to run at high speed through the tunnels without hitting the walls.
This test would be really deadly if I couldn't see in the dark, but thanks to my eyes my only real challenge will be getting through the maze and killing the guardian quickly.
