Chapter 143 - Training.

Finally, the day of my training with Captain Raven arrived, I thought she would teach me some moves or even spank me, but I didn't expect that.

Right now, I'm running in a closed room with Raziel and Captain Raven, training today and about endurance, it's been a long time since I did endurance-focused training today reminded me a lot of the first classes I had with my mom.

The exercise was basically the same with only two differences between them, the first being that I'm in a closed training camp, inside a building instead of in the forest. But the most striking difference is that I'm almost dying trying to get past Captain Raven's obstacle course.

This is because of the magical tool made for physical training that Captain Raven made me and Raziel use during training. The tool itself is five pieces each and a different size hoop to fit different parts of the cup, I have to wear one on each arm, leg and the last one is a belt.

They don't particularly weigh much, but when they basically seal off my entire aura and the aura being blocked and drained to feed the magic tool, it makes the exercise much more difficult and exhausting. The simple training got a lot more difficult because of this magic tool that is draining my energy, I'm barely warming up after two hours of exercise and Raziel faints when the timer gives an hour of exercise.

I walk all day running through the obstacle course, with minimal time to rest and feed my body. After spending the entire day with Captain, I could barely walk straight.

"Captain, can I ask you something?"

"Clear."

"I can ask what is the reason for training today, even with so much exercise every day my body will not strengthen properly. I wanted to know why this training?"

"This training had several goals, but you are sure that neither one of them and to strengthen your body as you seem to know and difficult to strengthen a warrior's body this happens because of the aura and that breaking the physical limit of the body is more difficult every time you get it it's easier and it tends to be effective to spend your time strengthening your aura or your combat skills to increase your strength."

"So why did I spend so much time running?"

"Several reasons, among them I wanted to test your physical limit, persistence, the ability not to complain when you're tired or crying, how much you can maintain control over your body when you're on edge and I think it's fun to see you suffering and a good one hobby."

"Serious?"

"You have to learn to enjoy the little things in life, Ulric. Relaxing from time to time is essential for progress in life."

I really didn't expect this today, I thought the training would be different.

"Tomorrow I'll teach you some tricks and teach you how to fight at the club, I have something special prepared for your first fight. So, take away the rest of Raziel who is writhing on the floor over there, see you tomorrow."

After carrying Raziel back to the institute I spend the rest of my day resting and preparing for Captain Raven's actual training.

The next day only I was in training camp, Raziel couldn't make it today, he said he was in no condition to train or get out of bed today, he wasn't lying to him nor could he get up to open the door he had to scream from your bed to tell me of your sorry state. The problem is his, I doubt Captain Raven will let him skip training without suffering further later.

"Where's Raziel?"

"He didn't recover from yesterday, he kind of went to bed and doesn't get up anymore maybe tomorrow he can get up."

"What a spoiled little boy, he didn't even heat a day of training."

Well, I'm not going to throw it in Raziel's face and weak I'm just fine today because of the medicines and medicinal ointments I used yesterday, if it wasn't for them, I would have a hard time being here today ready to train again.

"Well, since it's just the two of us today, let's go straight to the most interesting part, let's fight quickly so I can play his level. After I spank you, I'll tell you where you can get better."

"OK?"

Raven already had her fist inches from my face, even before I could react. I barely managed to dodge the fist that was meant to take some teeth out of mine, Raven didn't take it easy on that punch she may not have used all her strength or speed but she put in enough force to really hurt me.

Raven hasn't given me a chance to retaliate, she's been throwing several punches in min with enough speed and force high enough to push me to the max.

After a few rounds Raven had me walking around the entire field in circles more than once, and I hadn't even realized it until I was on the fourth lap of the practice field. She's really skilled in unarmed combat, she's playing with me easily and I'm barely standing up.

When I tried to retaliate with the art of close combat, I ended up being thrown off the ground. Raven didn't even make an effort to twirl me through the air, I know she's a lot stronger than I am, but she needed to make the difference so clear.

"You are better than I expected, but we still have a lot of arias to improve. Your dodging ability is good, but you've been ignoring the environment around you and that's a very dangerous thing I easily guided you through the field and it shouldn't have been so easy."

"I don't pay attention to the environment?" I may not be the most attentive person in the world, but I have confidence to always be on high guard very few people have ever managed to escape my attention.

"If there were someone else here you would be paying attention to them, but the environment I'm referring to is no other people but the ground itself during combat I pressured you to move in bad arias of the training camp more than once I did you step into the same hole twice. If you were paying full attention to the environment, you would have just stepped on flat arias of the field and that would help you to defend yourself and better dodge my attacks."

"How do I improve in this combat aria?"

"Fighting, not specific training to improve this disability you simply have to fight while paying attention to the environment around you, you are only concentrating on what stands out around you, but you are ignoring the rest and that can only be changed with practice."

"But the other flaws I noticed when I hit you, you're depending a lot on your eyes in a battle using weapons that doesn't seem like much, but the closer you are to someone the harder it will be for you to read your opponent's moves depending only on your eyes."

"As you and the tracker type you have to develop your perception ability, it is not only useful to track your target but also useful during combat, if you are able to perceive the mana and aura around you can anticipate your opponent's movements without depending on your eyes."

That's a very useful skill, but the one small problem I'm not really a tracker type. My skills might get me into that category, but that doesn't mean I have the talent of a tracker and can do everything a tracker-type warrior can do or learn.

"Anything else I need to improve?"

"Of course, there are always ways to improve more before I can teach you, I have to show you something."

"What?"

"That."

In front of me a fist made of aura that slammed into my face. I was thrown to the ground with a broken nose.

"It went badly. I thought you would go astray, Ulric."

"If I was supposed to dodge, you should have warned me beforehand."

"I told you to pay attention to your surroundings and try to read your opponent's aura, I thought you would be able to dodge it."

"Just because you tell me about skills, I should know doesn't mean I'm going to master them instantly, Captain Raven."

"Now you are being childish, Ulric. I only threw a weak punch; you shouldn't even have been hurt by that light smack."

"Nice way to put it, I was hit by a slap so light that the reason my nose is broken, and because I fell to the ground on my back."

"Exactly, now get up and let's fight some more."

For the rest of the day, I got beaten up by Captain Raven, only after she got tired of hitting me, she started teaching me some skills about unarmed combat, the problem is that her way of teaching is hitting me until I learn to fight properly.
