Chapter 74 - Dungeon.

With my new set of weapons I spent the next few days getting used to using them, it didn't take long for that to happen. We have many characteristics in common the only problem I had was using my elemental arts with them on my first attempt my elemental energy ended up getting out of my control the reinforcement that my sword and hunting knife caused me to rehabilitate myself to use my elemental arts even my elemental arts that don't come in contact with them just by holding them my elemental energy gets stronger.

During the days that I spent my free time getting used to my new set of weapons I had been taking my first classes of my new courses. The courses with professor Frey which were about magic and elemental subjects was very informative in the first class he already explained to me how the metal alloy subjects of my new weapons works at the beginning of the class Ingredi had asked me if they are ready after showing for Ingredi it didn't take long to ask Professor Frey if the interaction of mana crystals and elementals were the same for warriors' and mages' weapons.

The professor explained that the mana crystals acted not only as a material to improve the efficiency of the mana ejected in it because if that were all the warriors would not use them in their weapons since the aura is not mana even if it is born from the mana that the warriors absorb, mana crystals have the property of absorbing mana from the environment and thereby strengthening the weapon's resistance and mana ends up having a strengthening effect on the elemental energy of the mana crystals. The metal alloy that has mana crystals used by fighters incorporate very few crystals because using too many of them would make the weapon stay dependent on mana absorbing mana from the environment and too slow to sustain a very large amount of mana crystals.

A weapon made with many mana crystals depends on mana to strengthen its structure with low mana it becomes fragile this is the only difference between weapons made for fighters and mages in the matter of applying mana crystals. The elemental crystals end up having a similar proportion to the mana crystals the more elemental crystals the metallic alloy is more dependent on it and the elemental energy, but the difference from before is that warriors have a lot of elemental energy at their disposal then the amount of crystals elementals used in the forge of weapons and decided by the warrior the greater the amount of them, the stronger the strength that weapon or maturation will have when powered by elemental energy.

The higher level weapons and matures tend to have more elemental crystals incorporated in them even though their quality is much higher than the crystals I used in my sword the characteristics remain the same the difference is in the other materials used in them with the increase in the quality of the magical materials that are used in the manufacture of equipment for higher level warriors and that they are not only more resistant but they are much stronger with the aura and elemental energy that are exposed to being used so the balance of durability and power of equipment changes the higher the level of equipment the fewer materials for durability are needed.

Ingredi's staff will have a much larger amount of materials that have the property of amplifying mana and elemental energy than equipment of the same cost forged for a fighter.

The rest of the days I took fencing lessons as I almost reached the level the teacher imposed on me so I could finish the course. I also had the first class of the courses on the Fire and Wind elements, the teachers were the same as in the previous course on the elements.

The level of classes hasn't changed much, but their content is much more complicated than before. We studied the ownership of the elements in more depth the practical exercises will only be done after a few classes this is because at the level of normal students the focus of training should be on increasing your ability to control their element.

This week was much quieter than the first week of classes I had before. With the free time I had I was able to get used to my new equipment and now I finally feel ready to start exploring the first and easiest dungeon in the city.

Because of the increase in my guild rank I was finally allowed to enter the Rank dungeon. And the dungeon rank does not reflect the difficulty of completing them but the strength level of the first floor monsters in order to stipulate the difficulty of a dungeon is the number of floors it has this is because every floor you pass the monsters get stronger.

In the dungeon I will not face animals or magical beasts, but monsters that the dungeon generates they are created by the mana of your body's dungeon, magic jewels and magical materials are taken away. that comes from animals and magical beasts. The biggest difference is in the magic gems different from the cores taken from the animas and beasts the mana and elemental energy of the magic gems cannot be used to strengthen the body or the cultivation of warriors and mages and the magic gem's energies are poisonous to living beings. So their only use is in manufacturing and as a battery for magic tools.

I spent a lot of time getting ready to enter my first dungeon it is called Dark Burrow that name was given because the monsters that live in them have a habit of grouping into small groups and hiding in burrows that are located on the walls, dungeon ceiling and floor the second part of the name makes it clear that the dungeon lighting is a problem for i believe neither one of these characteristics is a problem for me as monsters are made of mana and elemental energy i can see them using my eyes so they hide or the light of the environment won't be a big problem for me.

I intend to enter alone although this seems dangerous there is a tradition that novice adventurers who are fighters should enter the dungeon alone on their first time and go up to the fifth floor those on each floor you pass will better be your assessment in the eyes of the guild and adventurers Veterans on the fifth floor to an elite monster you can kill, but it depends on your confidence many new adventurers die by the hand of the elite monster.

Mages are exempt from this not because they are weaker or because their mana would run out easily before reaching the fifth floor, but because too few of them make them too valuable to risk them in such a test. I don't believe that shit in my opinion the justification for the mages' exemption and why it would be suicide to dump them in the dungeon alone not the need to create an excuse as weak as they did. It's not a shame to accept the natural weakness of low-level mages.

With preparations complete I make my way to the dungeon as the environment and closed I leave my bow behind I only carry a few daggers that I can use as a throwing weapon if I have to attack from a distance. I buy a lantern at her dungeon door and a magic tool that can be powered directly by a magic gem or mana core the guild has a shop to rent them near the dungeon they also sell rations, antidotes and some other items that can be useful in the dungeon.

To enter the dungeon I have to go through a curtain of darkness it and a type of portal that throws me at a random point on the first floor the floors are usually quite large and several stairs to go up to the upper floors if the floor was not large. huge number of adventurers that would prevent the accumulation of monsters.

I clip the small flashlight to the side of my belt and pull out my weapons. At the starting point of easy dungeons like this it is very rare to have monsters, but I can still be unlucky to be attacked when entering the dungeon. And I use my eyes to see the mana from the dungeon and to my surprise the dungeon doesn't even have a thread of elemental energy or mana in its structure I thought it would have mana running down the walls of a dungeon.

The only mana I see and the one in the air in the dungeon has a lot more mana in the air than the Emerald Forest the mages' mana regeneration capability should be faster inside the dungeon than outside.

This is how I begin my first dungeon expedition, alone in the dark and possibly walking into an ambush.
