Chapter 75 - Dungeon (2)

Darkness, humidity and one of the worst smells I've ever felt before these are the predominant characteristics of this dungeon, although it's only been a few minutes since I entered it I haven't found a monster, on the first floor the predominant monsters are goblins and kobolds despite similar in stature and stinking the same, goblins use rusty weapons while low-level kobolds use their claws.

Walking down the dark corridor I finally can see some lights in front of me they are hidden on the wall and on the floor the four monsters in front of me still I can't confirm what kind of them but I can easily see the difference in mana monsters compared to magical animas a Aura of magical animas flows from its core and spreads throughout their entire body as monsters have several lines of mana that originates from their magic gem their mana seems to travel through their blood and not their flesh. Very confusing, but what surprises me is that because of this behavior their mana is more concentrated compared to the mana of magical animals.

I position myself by the wall that doesn't even have a monster inside. As I approached them I was attacked by three balls of stinky fur, my sword easily cut two kobolds in mine and the last one that jumped in mine had his skull pierced by my hunting knife. After killing them I knew the last one that was still hiding wouldn't come out of their hiding place so to force him to make a move I turn my back on him.

When the little kobold saw him that I had my back to him his extinct I did not allow him to do anything but attack me. When the stinky furball had leapt to attack my back only to be met by the tip of my sword.

With all the kobolds dead I saw that the mana from the gem stopped flowing into their body and the rest of the mana in their body dispersed throughout the kobold's entire body. I expected monster mana to behave differently as they are generated by the dungeon but I didn't think it would be so weird. I removed the magic gems and while holding them I realized that the gem's mana is in an immobile state different from the anima magic cores that the mana still flows inside the core.

I thought monster mana was just toxic I didn't think it behaved so differently.

During the next hour I explored the first floor of the dungeon the kobolds and goblins were not a challenge for me they are quite slow and their only advantage is their stealth which is nullified against me. As all their attempts to ambush them result in deadly failures for them I don't even have a challenge on this floor the only suffering I'm suffering and the stench I have to put up with. It took me an hour and forty minutes to find a stairway to the second floor of the dungeon and I'm far from breaking the speed record to get past the first floor. As I want to reach the fifth floor I decided to take it easy and conserve my energy.

When going up to the next level I go through another wall of shadows only to appear in a tunnel basically identical to the previous one not that I expected a new environment but it seems that I returned to the starting point again. But the difference is that three feet from my location I can already see a group of eight goblins.

I decided to try a more offensive initiative by attacking them I manage to kill two quickly before they could be able to get out of the hole they were in. After that I was already in front of two more goblins who were half their body out of the holes. wall and floor. With their death I only had to face the attack of four goblins although they have a strength close to a magical animal their speed from very slow to min without being able to jump in a suicide attack their onslaught is very weak.

I feel that the first two floors of the dungeon are very repetitive, I wonder in which floor the shape of the labyrinth has changed. On the second floor I ended up spending less time it only took an hour to reach the stairs to the third floor I was lucky to look close to her. I walked a much shorter distance on the second floor if it wasn't for the large amount of monsters gathered I would have taken half an hour to find the stairs.

Over the next few hours I went through the third and fourth floor the dungeon environment remained basically the same dark, damp and smelly other than the goblins and kobolds I killed in large numbers on the fourth floor the smaller group I encountered was made up of ten smelly monsters I he had already collected over two hundred level one magic gems. The level bug gems don't have much mana in them most of the mana gems and lost with monster death.

already expected that the dungeon wouldn't be a challenge for me as the biggest causes of death in it are caused by the lack of ability of novice adventurers who can't handle the surprise attack of goblins and kobolds. I understand why so many new adventurers end up meeting death the first time they enter the dungeon.

The only chance for them to make it out alive and make it to the stairs that lead to the fifth floor when I pass them I found myself in a stone room with an iron door in front of me and behind me the portal that leads out of the dungeon. I still have more than half of my elemental energy and aura so I'm not worried about running out of energy when I face the elite monster behind the iron gate. If I chose to enter the portal I would have to repeat the initial four floors again only by killing the elite monster I can complete the first part of the dungeon.

After killing the elite monster I can choose to continue or exit the dungeon through the portal that will appear in the room if I choose to exit the dungeon the next time I enter it I go straight to the sixth floor.

By feeding my flashlight some magic gems its light becomes much stronger to the point of reaping if I was stupid enough to look directly at it. I step through the metal door pushing it back and find myself in a round stone room with various remnants of equipment and bone scattered across the floor of the room.

In front of me an elite kobold he is a few inches shorter than me, his body is covered in his black fur his claws glow in the dark for me they have a considerable amount of mana in them this is the first monster I see that his mana it's not just flowing through your blood, it's in a part of your body.

He howls and runs towards me I simply unblock my flashlight and a beam of light hits the kobold directly as he and a creature that lives in the dark such a strong light overwhelms his vision. With his movement stopped I charge against him and slash with my sword, but the elite kobold is not as weak as the monsters from the previous floors when feeling danger he tries to dodge my sword.

His speed is not less than mine, but I can still cut him even though my attack only generated a shallow cut I was enough to discover that his skin is not able to protect him from my sword. I don't give him time to recover using my Wind element to propel me I keep attacking him, even with reflexes based on his predator instinct the kobold still and wounded for min it didn't take long for his body to be full of superficial wounds he he throws himself from one side to the other, dodging my attacks.

As I advanced against him I noticed that his mana had a behavior change as I didn't know what that meant so I prepared for the worst and positioned myself so I could retreat. This was a very smart decision as the kobold leapt towards me instead of swerving again, but as I was prepared to retreat I had enough room to block its jaw with my sword. By blocking his wild onslaught I unleash my Fire and Wind element on my sword by circling my blazing sword around the kobold's mouth and burning the pain he feels is strong enough for him to lose control of his body.

With my hunting knife I pierce his neck. This exchange was so quick that their claws didn't even come close to my body. The elite kobold falls to the ground with its jaw blazing and its neck pierced. With his death two portals appear, each one of them is at one end of the room. I take the magic jewel out of the kobold and its horns they serve as material for blacksmiths.

As I pass through the portal that appears in front of the metal door I used to enter the room I am greeted by sunlight.
