Finally having a day off I decided to register with the adventurers guild when I asked my team members I found out that everyone was already registered so I ended up going alone to register with the guild.
Leaving the school in the morning I drove around the city taking advantage of my free time I thought about getting to know the old tower of the ashes better I went through the streets of the city I went through some stores to see the price of the magic materials to compare with the price of the institute not much difference in price, but the quality and diversity of the institute is far superior to what I see in the city store.
But I was really tempted to visit the restaurants I spent on my way to the guild, but one doesn't have time and I feel like my savings will quickly decrease if I start going to good restaurants.
Spending a few hours to enjoy the scenery, I finally arrived at my destination, the adventurers guild when I entered it. I was surprised by the style of the environment. I thought it would be a simpler and more rustic style, but reality is very different. well-elite air.
The floor is made of a combination of extremely polished stones, most of them are white stones, but they used some black stones to create a very beautiful pattern of the floor that covers the entire first floor of the guild.
The walls are decorated like a mural depicting scenes of heroic triumph, the drawings on the walls not only combine to form a set of stories but also the same style and present in the columns that support the building.
The balconies are made of stone and dark wood and carved in beautiful and complex patterns summarizing the guild building carries an air of grandeur and professionalism to my surprise.
Perhaps in smaller cities the level of the building is more in keeping with a tavern as I envisioned it before.
I approached the counter that had the sign written "newbies" I was received by a receptionist from the wild people she had characteristics that reminded me of a brown fox .
"Good morning, I'm Ulric Fenris, I'm a student at the institute and I came here today to register as an adventurer. Could you help me with that?"
"Good morning, Mr. Fenris, I am Waifra and I will be your receptionist today."
"The registration can be done right here, normally and divided into two parts, one and filling in the form with your information and the second part and a practical test, but in your case it is much simpler you just need to show me your coat of arms of the institute and his signature will be copied to register with the guild and the practical and optional test for you. "
"May I ask if there is a difference in taking the practice test or skipping it Waifra?"
"Your rank will be the same when taking the test or not, but your test score does not change your rank yet and it is useful for you. It will be registered in your identity in the adventurer guild. Various groups of adventurers check the practical test note to play. the quality of the new adventurers a good grade in it will help you to join a group of rank E maybe even a group of rank D if interested in you, but that depends on your grade in the test. "
"So, Mr. Fenris, would you like to take the test?"
"Of course I would love to make him Waifra and thanks for explaining the function of the test to me."
"No need to thank me, Mr. Fenris, I'm just doing my job and an honor to be able to help you today. You could accompany me to the waiting room when the test is ready. half an hour."
Following the smiling fox, I feel a sense of déjà-vu and I remember the day I did my registration. The smile of the receptionist Fox reminds me a lot of the robot that did my registration at the institute. There is a standard smile to be used by employees .
Luckily when the receptionist Waifra turned after opening the waiting room door for me to enter, I was no longer looking at his fluffy tail. I was never so close to a fox before his ears and tail are very beautiful.
"This and the waiting room if Mr. Fenris has any questions, I would be honored to help you."
"Thank you Waifra, you've helped me a lot."
"So I wish you luck on the test, Mr. Fenris."
When the receptionist leaves, I stand alone waiting for my examiner to arrive.
Honestly I have not got used to be called Sir Fenris still sounds strange when someone calls me that the institute I am not so named because everyone with whom I spoke at the institute were my teachers or were employees who are noble the only exception was that old man who watches the elemental rooms, but taking into consideration that he and a warrior of orange core it should be a noble despite his request bribes from students, but it probably and a weird hobby of it.
It didn't take long for my examiner to arrive badly, it must have been five minutes when the door to the room opened and a beautiful warrior with blue hair came in. I feel much happier to be examined by a beautiful warrior than by an ugly thug .
"You must be Ulric Fenris I am your examiner my name is Sara and you will have to fight me to become an adventurer."
"Follow me, let's go to an empty training ground."
As I followed her to the training ground, I analyzed her.
She was a warrior of the wind element, her weapon was a thin sword and she carried a small shield on her left arm. Her maturity was light and covered her entire body.
With this information I can deduce that she is a light warrior like me, but I doubt that she can be stronger than her since she is in the middle stage of the gray core with an entire level of difference between us. fire element as an advantage.
Arriving at a training ground it is basically a small arena made of gray rustic stone.
"Are you ready to start?"
"Is there a rule I should know before we start?"
"There is not even a specific rule for this test it is basically a friendly duel as long as you don't try to kill me using a high level magic tool you would only fail if you are too weak."
" So ready Ulric ?"
"Yea."
Taking a coin out of her clothes Sara tosses it up.
"When the coin touches the ground, the duel begins."
The moment the coin touched the ground, I shot towards Sara with my sword and dagger in hand. I used my aura to reinforce my body to the fullest and I invoked my wind element over my entire body and used the Invisible Blade art on my sword. and dagger.
I tried to surprise her with my speed, but when I checked close to her she was already prepared to block my onslaught so my only chance to win and surprise her with the fire element using my two elements maybe I can break her defense.
I attack Sara with a sequence of fast attacks alternating between my dagger and sword, but as expected of a gray-core warrior even using my maximum speed I am still slower than her, but with my sequence of attacks she had to summon her own cloak of the wind element to increase its speed.
Keeping a constant offensive I tried to push it against the corner of the arena, but even using my full strength I could barely force Sara to move.
Seeing a smile forming on Sara's face, I knew that I lost the advantage of the first movement she started attacking with her sword that was imbued with her aura, but without the wind element.
She only needed a few changes to put me in a defensive position, it was my turn to be pushed back and unlike her, I lost ground with each blow that blocked more and more close to the corner of the arena I arrived.
This is the first time that I fight with a warrior who not only has a very big advantage in cultivation but she has a fighting style similar to mine, I am being suppressed by her completely, even using my eyes to see her movements at a slower and faster speed. to better anticipate her attacks I still can't get over her speed .
My only hope is to use the explosive strength of the fire element more to do this I have to be able to explore an opening if not my chance to win and very small.
As I approach the corner of the arena, I use my art of movement to circulate Sara, who in turn uses her own art of movement to accompany me.
But with this change I didn't even get an advantage to narrow the gap between our speeds, but I managed to make our confrontation more of a circular combat using the art of movement to move in circles than just going forward or backing me I got the first part of my plan.
Between one of my feints I turned to have the element of surprise because instead of making an attack with my dagger as I had done before I used it to attack Sara with a bag of dust, but this powder is not the same as the one I had used against Torris already that this would be useless against a warrior covered with the wind element this dust has the function of creating a smoke screen when he approached Sara she blocking it with her shield but this caused him to detonate a smoke screen that obstructs him Sara's vision.
I throw my dagger at Sara's left thigh and make an attack combining my fire element against her right side with the wind element that was already covering my sword.
But even facing my offensive Sara was still able to defend herself I don't know how she felt my offensive, but she turned her body avoiding my dagger and positioning her shield against my attack even though she lost her support she still managed to block me attack.
Because before my sword touched his shield, he emitted a wave of the wind element creating a type of concentrated air shield that blew him up against my sword.
The force of the wind element was not very great but it was enough to decrease the force and deflect the path of my attack causing me to fail to break Sara's defense.
I was greeted by an attack by Sara the moment I lost my momentum I was barely able to block her attack, but unfortunately that caused me to be in a very unstable position.
With the sequence of attacks that Sara made against me I was barely able to block two attacks in the third I was already without support and so I lost to Sara.
He was thrown to the ground by the force of Sara's attack.
"You lost, but it was much better than I expected Ulric."
I was out of breath to answer Sara so I could only wave at her comment and I dropped to the floor while recovering my breath.
And that's how I ended my registration with the adventurers guild on the defeated ground .
