Yesterday it was a very busy day for me I thought I would register with the guild and at most do a Rank F mission, but it ended up with me planning a very risky mining and looking for the identity of my pursuer, a warrior with a green horse totem.
With that today, I am making the necessary preparations. I have to go to the guild to look for identity and buy the tools to do the mining the next morning. I didn't spend much time shopping.
So now I am walking from the guild after the information about the adventurer groups registered in the guild I hope to find my target.
I checked in the guild before lunch and when I enter the building I see the lovely receptionist fox Waifra I hope she can help me.
"Good morning Waifra, could I ask for your help with a problem I'm having?"
"Good morning, Mr. Fenris, how can I help you today?"
"Well in reality I would like to place my order in a more discreet environment and with fewer people would there be a place to talk to just the two of us?"
"We can go to one of the meeting rooms, Mr. Fenris, but without wanting to offend the man, I must warn you that any behavior that violates the guild rules and my personal space I will have to denounce you."
That and meanness to me I know that the way I asked her can be interpreted in a negative way, but there is no good way of saying that I want to go to a private room to talk to you with a beautiful receptionist. I don't look like a nobleman who would I abuse a receptionist or do I look like?
"I can assure you that there will not be any kind of behavior like that for me, I promise Waifra."
"What a pity, please, follow me, Mr. Fenris ."
Wait, what did she just say ?!
I follow Waifra trying to figure out if she really said what she said must be a joke on her part.
I wait.

"It's not usually done like that Mr. Fenris like you and a new adventurer you can leave your name on the list so that groups looking for new members can choose a newcomer that fits their group I knew you got an A on your test I am sure you will receive invitations from good groups, Mr. Fenris. "
"First of all, I would love for you not to call me Mr Fenris anymore. Could you call me by my name Ulric?"
"I didn't think Mr. Fenris would even make a move that makes me uncomfortable ?"
She sure is having fun with my face.
"I didn't think that calling me by my first name would make you uncomfortable Waifra if you feel more comfortable calling me Mr. Fenris I will not ask you to change."
"Thank you, Mr. Fenris."
"So can I look at the list of adventurer groups?"
" Perhaps, Mr. Fenris ."
I feel like I'm going to regret this.
"There is something you can do to be able to see the list."
I was greeted by Waifra's silence.
It took a few minutes until she decided what she wanted from the list.
" Maybe if you Fenris me answer a few questions?"
"I can show you the list."
"I am open to Waifra questions how many do I need to answer in order to win the list?"
"I have some questions, Mr. Fenris ."
"You can start Waifra."
"Why do you want the list?"
"To find someone ."
"Why would that person be on the list?"
"I think that person is an adventurer ."
"That is not a good answer, Mr. Fenris ."
"I will try again"
"I believe this person was carrying a totem pole."
"Can this person's totem be from a noble house?"
"I don't think Waifra did a quick search and I did n't find a totem that matches what I saw."
"Do you have a girlfriend?"
" Unfortunately not."
"The person you are looking for is a man or woman?
"Women."
"Do you intend to hurt this woman?"
"No."
I just intend to ambush her and capitulate so I can interrogate her and maybe kill her in the end, but I intend to leave any physical contact for my team to do so I'm not lying to Waifra.
"Are you interested in this woman?"
"No."
"Do you know her name?"
"No."
"Have you ever been with a woman?"
" Unfortunately not."
"Interesting."
"Do you already have a group that you want to join?"
"Not Waifra."
" What kind of woman do you like?"
"Beautiful and smart."
"Which element do you have an affinity with?"
"I have an affinity for the element of fire and wind."
"Are you interested in men?"
"No!"
"For women from the fox tribe?"
"Yea."
"Well."
I can't find out if I have a chance with Waifra or if she's just playing with me.
"You and your son are a Grade A adventurer who has the title of Red Wolf, Blood Wolf and Madwoman."
" Maybe ."
"Perhaps?"
"It is perhaps ."
"Why maybe?"
"Because my mom and an adventurer and the titles you said would put a premium on the last one, but I'm not sure."
"Kára Fenris and your mother?"
"Yea."
"I think that is enough for today, Mr. Fenris, that I will bring the list to you, but I want to make it clear that I will deny it if anyone asks me if I let you see the list and say that you must have stolen the list."
"OK Waifra, I accept those terms."
I am left alone when Waifra goes behind the list.
I'm still confused by her questions. Is she interested in me or was she just screwing me?
In the end she showed that she knows my mom, but that could mean she knows my mom personally or simply and a fan since she didn't try to kill me when I confirmed my mom's identity so she's probably not a victim of my madness or irresponsibility mom.
While I was trying to find out Waifra's intentions, I didn't even realize that she was already back in the room.
"Here is the list of adventurer groups registered here."
"Thank you Waifra."
I started to read the list, and incredibly well detailed goes from simple to the name of the members and missions carried out and goes through the details like success rate, uptime, waiting period between missions and even favorite food of each member of the team .
Why do they register someone's favorite food ?
I spent two hours to find the group I was looking for, they had the totem of a green horse .
The group was formed recently compared to the others on the list they were formed for five months and formed by five adventurers two men and three women.
There are three adventurers with a gray core, one home and two women, the rest have black cores. They did three Rank D missions and participated in an alliance formed by five groups to carry out a Rank C mission. They were there for support, but that still shows that they are competent and it will make things difficult.
They are sponsored by the noble Alvis family whose totem is a red horse and the founder of the group is part of the Alvis family .
But my target is not part of the Alvis family, his name and Hidis a warrior with affinity to the water element of Rank E who was born right here and joined this group of adventurers last month doesn't even have a negative activity report and her favorite food and roasted chicken.
There isn't even a lot of useful information like her address or her agenda, but now do I have more information about my stalker or would I now be considered a stalker behind her?
I continued to read the list so as not to look like I found my target.
After spending another twenty minutes of reading to get to my list I was too lazy to continue until the end and I'm already hungry so I better stop right here.
"Thank you for helping me today Waifra the list helped me a lot."
"I thought you would have the patience to pretend to read the list to the end, Mr. Fenris, maybe next time you will have more time to spend the guild documents readily to avoid getting hungry while reading the list."
"I will try to be more convenient for you Waifra the next time I ask for your help."
"It's just that for now you Fenris ?"
"Yes Waifra."
" Disappointing ."
"I will accompany you to the reception."
I don't understand how her celebration works which was disappointing I should have asked for more help for her or I should have said something different maybe asked to go out with her, but if I had done that I don't doubt she would accuse me of trying to take advantage I wouldn't be surprised if she activated some of the alarms just to screw with me .
I was accompanied by Waifra to the exit and dismissed from her, but I swear that when I walked away from her I could hear her talking.
"Next time, I want to be attacked."
I must be imagining absurdities Waifra must not have whispered that or that is another trap on her part and how I would have to be crazy to attack someone who is stronger than me.
She has a fucking green core it would be suicide to attack her.
I walk away from the guild as I replay my conversation with Waifra in my mind trying to figure out how I should speak to her the next time I see her .
