That morning me and Syn went out to convince people to go with us to search for the landmarks. He was supposedly pretty popular at school and claims to have lost some popularity from siding with me but still managed to convince a few students to join us. We told them to join us at our camp on the hill and we'd talk strategy before heading out tomorrow. Many kids were suspicious of us and denied but he still wrangled up a few others to join us. When I asked him how he still had so much influence over the others he replied with Charisma build which is strange since I didn't get to pick my stats. I spent my day trying to figure out our current position so I could determine which path to take to get to the city I remember going to. From the positioning of rocks in the landscape, I determined that we had to go east, and no, there were no matching rocks from a mirror and the sun. My powers from being a Reaper were a short distance teleport and an ability that said requires souls, which I'm guessing means I need to kill something to use it, I also got a passive call Reapers Might, with no description, and of course my Commoners Luck skill. The sword is pretty cool though, it's called the Reaper's Blade, the flavour text reads "a blade made from the steel of a Monarch's blade made for a Reaper'' but since this was the standard weapon for everyone else who picked the class I doubt that it was actually made from Sung's dagger's. I stood atop one of the pillars like rocks and looked at the horizon, all I needed now were pixelated glasses and a big "deal with it" floating in the air. Many of the other students down below had already begun to form groups. Some had tried to build some form of shelter but rocks and small twigs and branches from the few trees proved to be less effective than the ones built by another student who figured out how to use earth magic. The teachers were making rounds and trying to organize everyone, but since everyone had access to either a weapon or magic, it was a bit tricky for them. I heard someone calling my name and spotted Syn down below waving at me with a few other kids around him. I leaped down from the rock and saw four students around him, most of them didn't look pleased to work with me, more happy to be working with Syn though.
"Come by the fire and we'll give introductions." I said, they followed behind me.
"As you know," Syn began, " my name is Syn, and I'm a Knight. And of course this is Lukas with the reaper class."
"My name is Lily and I'm a fire mage."
"Rex, a Rogue."
I-i'm Maya, I'm a healer."
"James, Tank."
"Looks like we have our bases covered," I say, "long range and AoE attacks from Lily, Rex can cover for damage, James taking front line position and Maya of course can heal us if need be."
"Just a minute," says Rex, "I'd prefer to be a front liner instead of being on damage."
"If you wanted to be a front liner then you should have been a tank like James." I say.
"Well at the very least I'll be taking the bulk of the enemy." Rex says proudly puffing out his chest.
"Lily will be dealing with the 'bulk of the group as she can use fire magic, you just worry about cleaning up what she misses." I say firmly.
"Fine," he says, " but I'll have you know that when I get stronger I'll be the one carrying the team."
"Well don't blame me if you charge ahead, lose a limb, and be forced to wait for Maya to learn strong enough healing to replace a limb, and if that did happen then we would have to be the ones to carry you, on a stretcher. Now get some sleep, we leave first thing in the morning." I say, ending the conversation.
As the moonlight shines down on the valley I think about the time I spent in that world with my Grandfather. If this really is that world than that would be more than enough proof to pin him for The Departure. But it would at least give me peace of mind that I would Somewhat know where we are, though the current facts are plenty irrefutable that it's true.
