Chapter 59 - A place where soulmates meet

"Ah!"

A frown displayed across the young woman's face in perplexity over the sudden situation where the man pressed the brake out of the blue. "Mia, are you alright?" Dean's voice embraced the hint of concern as he worriedly stared at her from the side. "I am fine. How about you?"

Mia asked back. "I am alright" Dean responded. "Are you ok, Lorcan?" At last, the young woman threw a query to the man. Capturing his attention fully. His eyes looked up into the rear view mirror. Meeting the young woman's ocean blue eyes that held fear and confusion.

"I am sorry. It was a stray cat" Instead of replying to the question, Lorcan explained the reason behind his harsh behavior although the young woman had yet to speak. "Oh, is that so?" Mia awkwardly smiled. Thank goodness no one was querying her about the name Henry.

She nearly forgot the reality. Since her mind was full with thoughts about the boy, Mia called out loud Henry accidentally. "You kept addressing me as Henry this whole day. Is everything ok with you? Do you have some problems to share? I can listen to you" Dean began the conversation.

While Lorcan continued to drive.

His eyes constantly shifted to the rear view mirror. The slight panic glinted in his gaze. Henry? He scowled. "I apologize for that, Dean. I did not mean to call you other name. It is actually a fictional character from the book I have read. His name never leaves my mind" Mia cackled.

Covering the truth with some lies. It was believable though in view of the fact that she was a reader who favored romance books. So Dean did not ask further more. He just nodded. "I see" He beamed. "You have arrived" Lorcan notified after stopping the car in front of apartment.

"It was fun to shop with you, Mia. I hope we can do it often in future" Before getting out, Dean expressed the gratitude under a grin of satisfaction. Melting the young woman's heart. "Yes. I will be in touch with you always" Mia avowed. Delighting the man. "Thank you... Thank you"

Along with murmur escaping between his lips, Dean pulled the young woman. Hugging her without any alarm which startled Mia. Her eyes widened as Lorcan's jaw clenched. "I don't want to leave you" Under his breath, Dean muttered to himself with his eyes shut in the embrace.

But the young woman heard it.

His words managed to bring her out to the reality from shock. She blinked for several times. He sounded desperate as if the world was going to end if he walked away from her. "I... I can't breathe, Dean" Patting the back of the young man, Mia gasped for air to suck in.

Panicking him entirely. "Oh my! I am sorry! I did not mean to!" Dean instantly pulled himself back from the hug. Letting the young woman inhaled deeply. "It is fine. Take care" Though she was having a hard time to breathe, Mia still wore a smile and waved at the young man.

And so Dean stepped out of the car as Lorcan just drove away. Not even giving a moment for the two to wave at each other even. "Young Miss..." While driving, the man suddenly voiced out loud. Catching the attention of the young woman who was spacing out at the back of the car.

She furrowed her brows. "Mia. I told you to call me Mia" She reminded. Causing the man to gulp. "My apologies. Can I know what book you were talking about?" With his eyes gazing at the young woman from the rear view mirror, Lorcan questioned. Hushing down Mia totally.

What was this?

Why was he interested in that all of the sudden? "Um the book's name is..." Now the problem had occurred. No matter what, the young woman could not think of a book name. She glanced out of the window in hurry. Then her lips formed into a smile. "A place where soulmates meet"

The answer which reflected the cafe shop outside the window, quieted down the man. His eyes traveled out of the car window. 'Are you searching for a place to meet your soulmate?' the note written under the cafe name. "Oh. Can I borrow that book then? I am interested in it"

Lorcan confessed with a beam tugged at his lips as Mia's eyes widened. She swallowed. The fuck was this?! Why did she feel being cornered?! There was no way to run off at this point! Think. Think. Think, Mia. Think. "I have gifted that book to a friend of mine to be honest"

A smooth lie came up from the young woman without any hesitation. It was the moment the man quieted down. Lorcan silently stared at Mia through rear view mirror. "I see. Then I should just buy from somewhere else" He let out a sigh. Causing the young woman to smile awkwardly.

They reached to the mansion back.

Getting welcomed by the maids. Several days passed. The hours quickly walked by like nothing. The young woman had never found herself this busy before. Mia could not even spare a time to rest fully. There were only a few minutes break between the hours at work. She busied herself.

Maybe if she did bury herself in piles of work, there would be no worries about the stalker. With that mindset, the young woman did not mind to get out of this stressful work. LYSSA brand began to take place in people's mouths. It was processing well to the top. Being famous slowly.

"Miss, a man presented a bouquet with a letter to you" Entering the office of Mia, the girl notified beneath a bright beam. But a frown displayed across the young woman's face over the news. Who the heck would send this? A bunch of black roses in a bouquet. Pretty dark and mysterious.

"Did he say who he was?" Mia raised her right brow. It was when the girl lowered her head. "I am sorry, Miss. He just walked away after giving me this. He did not say his name. I attempted to run after him to ask the name but he had left already. So I did not manage to know his identity"

The girl admitted.

Feeling guilty for failing to discover the name. "Oh, it is fine! Thank you anyway" Mia flashed a smile and accepted the gift. Relieving the girl who thought she was about to get yelled in the face. "Please pardon me" She stepped out of the office. Mia decided to read the letter.

The person carefully put the letter in the envelope. It felt like a love letter. "I hope it is not from him" The concern wandered around the young woman's aura. And she unfolded the letter to read. It was not handwriting. It was done by typing. Making it hard to find the person.

{Mia, it has been days I am sick. It must be because you are ignoring me. Can you at least spare a glance towards me? I have been attempting my best to capture your eyes. But it is always failure. Am I frightening you? Will you please stop giving attention to others also? I really want you, Mia. But don't worry. I am going to claim you as mine soon. Wait for me a little longer. I love you}

The letter filled with affection, rage and sorrow gave chills down the young woman's spine. What in the fuck?! There was no name at the end of letter. It was empty down the paper. "Fuck. This is that motherfucker, stalker. I can sense his foolishness in this letter" Mia scowled in worries.

"Damn it!"

In hurry, Mia jumped up from the chair and ran out of the office. Startling the girls and guests outside. "Where did Pier go? Where is she?" A question from the Boss, confused the manager. "She left to the cafe to get some drinks for us, Miss. Did she do something troublesome?"

The manager furrowed her brows in concern. " No, it is not that. She did well. She did nothing wrong" Mia assured. Relieving the manager. "Then why are you searching for Pier, Miss? If it is something important, I can call her to come here right now" The manager disclosed.

"Great. Can you do that please?" A smile spread across the young woman's lips. Earning a nod back from the manager in return. "Please wait for a moment, Miss" She grasped the phone and called the girl. At the same time, Lorcan walked into the shop with lunch for Mia.

"Lorcan!" A shout escaped between the young woman's lips which startled the man and others. "Mia, what;s wrong? Are you ok?" Witnessing the fear hidden in the gaze of the young woman, Lorcan panicked. Rushing near to her as she scowled. "It is about him" Mia whispered.

It was when the man hushed down.

"Let's go" Lorcan leaded the way and they two went into the office for the private chat. "Tell me everything" The man ordered. "I was working and Pier, an employee came to give me that bouquet and letter. She said it's a man who did not say his name. And this letter is insane"

Mia pointed out. She handed the letter to the man as Lorcan read it quietly. However, when he finished reading the letter, he straight up crushed the paper. Only to throw it away which stunned the young woman entirely. "This is bullshit. He must have mental problems"

Lorcan hissed.

"What do we do now?"

Mia frowned helplessly.

Hushing down the man.
