Two days later,
In a room, the young woman stared at her reflection in the mirror with a smile. She got up from the seat and walked out of her room, her steps were directing to the outside of the villa. Her eyes were searching for a person. A grin appeared on her face when she found the man.
"Lorcan!! Hello!!" Mia ran towards the man with a big smile. "Hello, Miss" the man greeted back with a stone face, his eyes held nothing, they were empty. Mia pressed her lips tightly and sighed. "Let's go.." she spoke as the man opened the car door for her.
"Where do I have to drive?" Lorcan asked, he started the engine. "We are going to arcade!" Mia excitedly shouted. The man nodded in understatement, the car drove off from the villa. "Lorcan, do you know that I just found out your name like two days ago? You should have told me first"
The man furrowed his brows. "I apologize for not telling but since you did not ask, I did not tell you my name" the man's cold reply made Mia rolled her eyes. 'I am trying to make a conversation with you! Why are you cutting it?!' she screamed in her mind furiously.
"Umm the weather is nice, don't you think so?" Mia asked and raised her eyebrows while looking outside of the car window. "Yes" the man answered sharply, making the young woman pressed her lips in annoyance. The car fell into silence for a moment.
Mia was finding words to make Lorcan comfortable but it looked like he was enjoying the silence. She wanted to make him forget about his mother's death just for a moment. She understood how it felt like to be left alone in the cruel world. "Do you have anyone in your heart?"
The question made Lorcan frowned.
"Why do you ask?"
"Because I want to know" Mia looked at the man's back who was driving carefully. "I mean I just wanna know if someone have melted your cold heart or not. It is ok if you don't want to answ-" before Mia could finish, she was cut by the man's answer. "Yes, I have"
Mia's eyes widened in disbelief. "Wait what?! An ice cube like you have someone you love?! T-that's unexpected. I wonder how did she melt your cold and dark heart. She must be a special girl with super powers" Mia laughed out loud at her own words.
Lorcan glanced at the young woman through the back mirror, his lips curved up into a really small smile at the sight of Mia laughing like a child. "Is she your friend?" Mia asked again. "I don't think so.." the man's unsure reply made the young woman frowned.
"Then you still have a long way to go, Lorcan. Don't ever waste your time on being a cold expressionless man! Pursue her! Be a gentleman with sweet talks! Girls like man who is sweet to them but cold to others, I will support you! You are my friend after all"
The young woman grinned.
"Thanks.." the man sighed. "What are you sighing for? You should find a woman to take care of you since you lost your mother" it was the moment, the huge silence covered the car. The silence was really loud that even their own breathing sounds could be heard.
Mia eyes widened and covered her mouth quickly when she realized what she had spoken. 'Damn it, I was trying hard to avoid that topic! Mia Clark, you are stupid!' she squeezed her eyes in regret and frustration. She wanted to cry at the place for her mistake.
"I am sorry. I did not mean to bring up about your mother. It must be hurt, I am sorry for your loss.." She said under her breath, looking down at her black high heels, could not look at the man. "It is fine, we have arrived" the man shrugged away negative moods.
"Oh yeah" Mia bit her lip in annoyance and squeezed her eyes, she went out of the car as Lorcan closed the door for her. "Alright, let's go" the young woman spoke, standing beside the man. Lorcan nodded and followed her from behind, not walking side to side.
The young woman in black colored striped v-neck strapped crop top and high waisted white pants walked into the huge arcade with a man in black suit behind. "You have to play with me today by the way" Mia's words made Lorcan frowned. "It is ok. You can play alone"
"I wasn't asking you. I am ordering you"
Lorcan sighed, he could not deny the young woman. He nodded in agreement. "Good! Let's play a game then" Mia smiled as the man listened to her, waiting for her to continue. "We will play three games. If you win, I will obey you all day. But if I win, you must obey me all day"
Mia raised her eyebrow with a challenging smile. "I obey you every day, Miss" Lorcan said the truth, making Mia rolled her eyes in annoyance. "But you have a chance! If you win, I have to obey you! Also drop that Miss. Call me Mia" the young woman raised her both eyebrows with a smile.
The man blinked twice in confusion, wondering if he heard the young woman wrong or not. "What? Aren't we friends? I mean just call me Mia. It is little uncomfortable for me when you call me Miss every time, I feel so old"
Lorcan stared ta the young woman for a second then he nodded in understatement. "Ok, I understand" he answered. Mia grinned. "Let's start with that one!" Mia pointed at the arcade machine with a grin and ran towards it while Lorcan followed her helplessly.
The game started.
"Lorcan! I know that you are cheating! Look at the difference! It is obvious!" Mia shouted furiously, pointing at the results of first game. She looked like a child who could not accept the failure, and keep denying the fact. "But you saw me playing faithfully"
The young woman frowned and pouted. Her plan could not be ruined, she thought he was bad at games. "Well, we still have two more games left! I still have a chance! Let's go, my enemy!" Lorcan chuckled quietly at the young woman's words. He followed her.
"So this is the next game, make sure to play faithfully! Do Not Cheat" Mia pressed the words and warned the man. "I understand" Lorcan nodded. "I swear.. if I lose this game, I will kiss my reflection in front of many people" Mia murmured, wishing to win the game.
"YES!! I WON!! DID YOU SEE IT?! I WON! AHAHAHA YOU LOSER! I AM THE WINNER!" after some minutes, the game results made Mia jumped in joy. She won. She defeated the man. Lorcan tilted his head and stared at the young woman who was jumping in joy.
It was as if she won all the game.
"If you are done, let's play the last game" he spoke, making the young woman stopped celebrating the success. "Oh, right. We still have to play one more time" she sighed tiredly, closing her eyes in embarrassment. She wished to vanish into thin air because of embarrassment.
She was jumping in joy right now but the reality hit her really hard. "It is time for you to choose" the young woman reminded the man. "Mmm, I will choose basketball" Mia jaw dropped, seeing the failure already. She had never played basketball before, how could she win?
'I chose the wrong idea' she bit her lip and shut her eyes in regret. "What's wrong?" Lorcan asked with wrinkled eyebrows. "I am bad at basketball, you chose that on purpose, didn't you?" the young woman's words made Lorcan furrowed his brows in confusion.
"No, you were the best in playing basketball. That's why I chose that" Mia fell into silence. She gritted her teeth and closed her eyes tightly, she forgot that she was Mia Grace. 'That Mia Grace is good at basketball huh? This book is messing with me!'
"W-well, I mean I forgot how to play. You know that I was so busy. I don't even have enough time to practice it so yea I don't remember how to play" Lorcan stared at the young woman who was trying her best to explain. Her words were suspicious and strange.
He had seen Mia Grace playing basketball before, she played it everyday. But he did not see her practicing the basketball anymore after George Seith came to her life. Maybe he was thinking too much and the young woman really forgot how to play.
He believed like that.
He sighed, shrugging away the thoughts.
Mia furrowed her brows in anxiety. Why was the man spacing out? It looked like he was thinking about something deeply. 'Don't tell me he found out that I am not Mia Grace' her breaths became heavier and heavier. She gulped, not knowing what to do. "Lorcan?"
She called him. The man looked at her with empty eyes. "What?" He questioned with furrowed eyebrows. Mia sighed in relief. "Nothing, let's go" she walked towards the basketball machine, smiling in relief and pain. She was figuring out a way to win the game.
They started the game together side by side. They did not notice that they looked like a couple in others eyes. Lorcan glanced at the young woman who was frowning tightly, she looked like she was going to throw hands at someone if she lost the game.
The man turned his attention back to the machine. He stopped throwing basketball into basketball hoop, he waited the young woman to pass his score. Mia did not notice anything, she was busy cursing at herself for choosing the stupid idea. She thought she was going to lose.
After a minute, the game finished. The results on the screen disappointed Mia. She still did not notice that she won the game. "You won, Mia" the man's words made Mia frowned and looked at him in confusion. She quickly turned around to check the results again.
"I-I won?! I won?! Omg!! I won!!"
Mia eyes widened in disbelief and jumped out of joy. She turned around at the man with a wide grin. "I won, ahahaha" she threw her hands into the air in satisfaction. Lorcan only smiled at the young woman. "I still can't believe it, gosh. I really won"
Mia giggled along with Lorcan.
