Marleen couldn't able to believe that the guy who was with her the last night is now laying on the floor beheaded. Who did this? Even Marleen didn't ever plan to kill him.
But on the other side, Ash's all doubt was on her.
"w- when did this happen?" Marleen questioned, trembling.
"Last night around 2" Taylor answered.
"WHAT!!" Marleen went deeply shocked when she heard this. "WHAT!! AROUND 2 ? IT- IT IS NOT POSSIBLE!!" she said, panicked.
"Yes it is, the guard had passed through the hall then he saw this" Vivan completed.
Now Marleen was trembling in fear, she couldn't understand anything.
Marleen's POV
"W-what the actual heck is going on? If David died last night, then who was with me in the apartment room? I- "
Marleen was standing still staring at the dead body. She was crying silently her tears were flowing down her cheeks.
Seeing Marleen standing them, Cabie who was also present there stands up and wiped her tears. "This- This girl killed by David. She killed him," she said while pointing her finger at Marleen. "Mr Roy" She went in front of him and said "Mr Roy, David ran after this girl last night and didn't come back. She must have done this to David. Th- this girl used to like my David in our high schools but he- he liked me. so so.. she-" Before she could complete her nonsense.
"SHUT UP, CABIE. ENOUGH OF YOUR BULLSHITS." Taylor jerked her hands off and shouted at her face. "MARLEEN CAN NEVER DO THIS. WE ALL KNOW, DAVID AND MARLEEN WERE BEST FRIENDS. " he pointed his fingers and said "AND.. DAVID ONLY AND ONLY LOVED MARLEEN. NOT YOU!! SO SHUT YOUR CRAP. " he continued angrily.
Cabie was fuming in anger. She wanted to slap Taylor in front of everyone but couldn't do so she controlled herself and stood silently.
"ENOUGH. ENOUGH OF YOU ALL" Mr Roy stood up from his chair and announced. "I LOST MY CHILD AND YOU ALL ARE ARGUING IN FRONT OF ME. YOU ALL ARE RIDICULOUS. ridiculous... " He sat down on his chair and started sobbing "Oh my child. Who did this to you? " He stood up again and pointed his finger to Marleen. " YOU, IF I, I EVER FOUND OUT THAT YOU HAVE A HAND IN ALL THIS THEN DIG YOUR OWN GRAVE BECAUSE I WON'T LET YOU STAY ALIVE NO LONGER. MIND MY WORDS," he said while greeting his teeth and tears in his eyes.
Marleen was silent from the start, she didn't even utter a single word from her mouth. As if she is alive but there is no strength left in her body she just kept staring at the body which was laying on the floor covered with blood.
Ash jerked her body and called "MARLEEN, MARLEEN SAY SOMETHING. SAY MARLEEN SAY. TELL US WHERE WERE YOU LAST NIGHT? AND WHO DID THIS TO DAVID."
Marleen got back into her senses and looked at Ash being emotionless and said "I- I don't know Ash, h-he was with me last night. It-its not possible that he can be dead. H-he.." she suddenly stopped between her sentence and lift her face upside in search of camera. "WAIT... WE HAVE CCTV. HAVE YOU ALL CHECKED THE FOOTAGE?" she exclaimed as if she got all her energy back.
"Oh yes. " Vivan looked at the camera.
"Yes right, we haven't checked it yet. " Taylor interrupted.
"I don't know, but I know that I won't spare anyone who is included in this case," Mr Roy said while sobbing. "Oh my child"
Soon then everyone started leaving the party hall and the dead body was taken to the forensic lab for postmortem. Taylor and Vivan went to check the CCTV footage.
Cabie was talking to someone on her cellphone in the corner of the balcony. Ash was keeping an eye on her every move.
"Dad, tch I know that. But we can't do it right now. Mr Roy won't let us do that. Firstly this is David's death and all. Then that girl from my high school, that Marleen appeared last night at the party I have to do something- "
Cabie said on her cellphone then she heard something and got alert. "Dad, I will call you a little later. " She hugged up and started looking here and there. Ash was hearing everything she was talking about on the cellphone with her dad. Cabie found Ash spying on her.
"Oh... So miss Ash was keeping an eye on me?" Cabie fold her arms and said sarcastically.
"Oh yes, miss cabie. I was" She replied standing straight in front of her.
"Huh, Go and spy on your best friend Marleen who murdered my David." Cabie rolled her eyes and said.
But Ash got into thinking after hearing her words. "What if Marleen is all behind this?" She thought but act normal.
"Yeah, I will. You don't need to worry. If Marleen is all behind this then I will make sure that she gets her punishments but.." She said raising her one-eye brow.
"But If you again create trouble for her, then no one else will be worse than me to you. " She said in a very rude tone and left.
Cabie smirked and murmured "Trouble ta I will create in every single step for you Marleen, just you wait. "
On the other hand, Marleen was sitting inside her room on the bed resembling all the memories of last night. "Who was with me the last night? My heart says it was only David. His scent and everything was of David. It can't be anyone else. I can never be false with him."
She was deep into her thinking that she didn't notice Ash was standing in front of her.
"Marleen " She called her with a smile on her face and sat beside her.
"Marleen, I know it is hard for you. But you going to tell me everything. alright?" Ash said while lifting her face.
"What do you mean Ash? " Marleen immediately makes eye contact with her.
"I mean what it is," Ash said in a serious tone.
"I'm just asking as if you are included in all this?" She continued.
"Excuse me, Ash? what?" Marleen got shocked to hear this from her best friend.
"Tell me the truth. " Ash continued in a serious tone.
Marleen got mad at this and stands up from her place "I can never do this to David. I never planned to kill him. I just wanted to play with his feelings too. IT'S NOT DONE BY ME" Marleen shouted and soon her eyes get wet.
"So, you were with him last night. But where? and what do you both do?" She asked her doubtfully.
"I-i " Marleen couldn't answer this.
"You what Marleen, tell me everything " Ash stood up.
Marleen decided to tell her everything that happened with her and David last night, so she did.
"What? he confessed to you and you guys had sex?" Ash got shocked as if she saw a ghost.
Marleen nodded as yes.
meanwhile, someone was keeping an eye on them from far from the window of Marleen's room and smirked.
"There's a lot more to see Marleen, you only belong to the dark world."
