Prologue: Rainy Day

It's... six in the morning. I'm, exhausted. Why did I even try to stay up all night, binging anime on my laptop? Doesn't matter, really. In all honesty, what would be the reason for me waking up? I'm just a normal teenager that has high school off. It's summer, so I guess that explains it...

A long abrupt silence forms; My dull grey eyes, peered straight through the window. It's covered in raindrops, which slowly slid down the transparent surface. I rubbed my eyes, and slowly released a long yawn.

"My head hurts..."

Trying to process yesterday; I stared at the blank wall, with my face fallen into utter shambles.

"You know, if only... agh, forget it. I don't think my parents cared for me anyways..."

I slowly tilted my head to the left side of his room; to see it surprisingly organized. I'm not drowned in wealth; instead, I was more of an average typical loser. I'm not unique, nor am I special. I hardly have any friends. The only friends I ever had were his brother and his keyboard.

Do I need to bother getting on my laptop? I'm not hungry at all.

My face grew stiff, along with my legs; a large abrupt silence formed. The rain continued to pour, and the pace of his slow beating heart; gradually decreased further.

"I'm so... tired. Maybe I should get off my legs, and start walking."

And so... I did.

I lived in a one-bedroom apartment. No one else was around the apartment, but me. There were hardly any televisions; along with any furniture. My house is nearly empty; mostly due to all my money being used on those premium sites. Why did I even think of donating? I should've saved my cash. Oh well, my parents warned me about this.

I left my parents when I was seventeen years old. I couldn't stand their annoying voices and orders any longer. "Go outside." or, "Clean up your room."

At last, I have peace; I have the freedom to do whatever I want... yay. I opened the refrigerator and felt the breeze blowing on my face. I quickly reached for the milk jar and slammed the refrigerator door shut. He quickly placed it on the table and then poured the cold-refreshing white liquids into the glass.

The milk stirred itself and then settled; right before I took a sip and drank the milk, I could hear the small faint noise of his television blaring. Ugh, is it that same old game show that always has been playing on repeat for a week now? Why isn't it turned off?

I quickly rushed to my remote and pressed the power button. I can't deal with hearing the fake applause and screams. Ugh, it's so annoying.

A silence formed right after. I could only hear the rain, slamming against my porch door. It's awfully dark outside, maybe it has to do with that storm that's going to roll in soon.

I quickly approached the table and gripped the milk jar. I felt the liquid, slowly sliding down my throat. It's cold and thick. But also, quite refreshing at the very least. Shortly after, I quickly realized that half the jar is finished.

I didn't really feel surprised, after all, I can just walk to the convenience store and grab milk there. Speaking of, I have a food shortage too. I ate all the ramen noodles I had, along with the microwavable pizza pockets. Wow, I didn't even take the notice that almost all my oven dinners are gone. Oh well, I better head off to the grocery store.

On a rainy day like this, I really don't care if I'm soaked.

I quickly grabbed my jacket and opened the front door. The blinding lights of the hallway flashed in my eyes. A yellow haze filled the entirety of the hall, and I could feel the humidity surrounding the air.

Okay, okay, this place is run down. I seriously doubt buying those premium accounts. But now, that doesn't matter. Let's just get my milk, and return to my room so I can scroll down.

I quickly ran down the stairs; and even with that action, I was out of breath. Seriously, why can't I do anything without breathing heavily? I'm skinny as all hell; mostly because I'm almost broke. Is it because of my diet?

Shortly after, I felt the downpour falling on my head. It soaked my jacket and seeped into my clothes. The wind howled vigorously. A car simply passed by, without taking the notice to stop at a red light. I should've researched the activity in this city when I was trying to order a new place to live in. Oh well, this is all I have.

* * * *

I walked for five blocks, exiting the apartment complex. It's a busy day today, every Wednesday, there would always be this 'rush hour' every so often. I wonder why?

"You look pretty as ever... darling."

A male voice that sounded like it came from the other side of the sidewalk, filled my ears. I quickly tilted my head to that same spot to see a tall young man, walking next to a long brown-haired teenaged woman. They look so happy, even in the worst conditions. And what makes it better, is that they're literally holding hands. Ugh, why can't that happen to me?

Oh, wait, I'm an introvert. Even during my senior year, I still had not a single friend or partner on my side. I'm too afraid to just... speak up because I fear that if I do anything wrong, I would be judged. That's why I have a lack of friends and relationships. Ugh, I know there are people in the world that have worse lives than me, but I think I match them. Just a little bit. It's from my bad decisions.

I was such a moron, that I had the audacity to steal someone's wallet, just to get that sexy silver-haired girl's body-pillow.

I really don't think it was worth it, but... you can't deny a beautiful cartoon silver-haired girl while you're sleeping. Otaku's forever!

I quickly pressed by worn-down tennis shoes that I received when I was fifteen, onto the sidewalk and sprinted to the convenience store. The cars were hastily passing next to me, and the rain grew harsher. I felt the rain touching my eyes; then a wind blew my hood away from my head.

"Ugh, this weather sucks!"

The wind was so strong in fact, it pulled my sweater away from my body. My hair gets soaked from raindrops; along with almost the rest of my body. My jacket quickly swooped gets carried by the wind, and slipped through the entrance to a dark ally way.

Out of all the areas it could go, it chose the most dangerous one. There are criminals all over this town, and I'm almost certain there would be this gang that will come upon me and beat me up.

The pace of my breathing grew heavier and heavier. I was wheezing, and the rain doesn't help.

"Haah... hah.."

My wet clothes made this more of a problem, as their weight would grow if it gets dampened. So my t-shirt, and pants were pressing down against my skin. Hold on. My wallet wasn't in my pant's pockets, it was rather in... no it couldn't be.

"Was my wallet in there?"

I quickly chased the jacket into the dark alleyway. It's filled with the repulsive stench of trash; mostly because this is where dumpsters are. They're everywhere in this alleyway. It's all filled with stray dogs, filthy rays, rotten junk, tossed-out apples, and disgusting stained clothes. This place is a mess, and it reeks.

I ran further away from the street and stumbled upon the end of the alleyway. My jacket was laying on the floor next to a solid brick wall.

"At last... I found you."

I wheezed heavily, pressing my palms against my knees. I really am unhealthy...

I quickly snatched my soaked sweater, and slowly walked away from the alleyway. I saw the sight of rushing cars, and the rain grew intense. I could hear thunder, trembling the skies, along with distant brief flashes of lightning bolts blasting against the park. Glad it wasn't a tree.

"It's better if I just go home. I can get milk tomorrow; when it isn't so humid and wet."

As I slowly tried to walk away from the alleyway, without a second to notice I heard a loud bang behind me. A bright flash illuminated the dark walls. I felt an imminent painful feeling surrounding my head. Just before I knew it; my vision flashed to darkness.
