Horace, Septimus and I walked one after the other up the staircase to the common room to see it in a partially filled state. Although we realised that we were amongst the few first-year students in the common room, the others are probably too tired from all that excitement. Well, that seems like a probable conclusion since, according to many studies done at Oxford, those who are informed before having a life-changing or exciting event are more likely to sleep less due to more hormones being present in the blood the day prior. And are more likely to oversleep after the event(s) have occurred, courtesy of a Professor who was too eager to look into my' mesmerising eyes'.
30 Minutes Later
"That was so long, but worth it", Horace said in an enthusiastic yet annoyed tone since he still wanted to sleep.
"Well, I guess next time when we are going to explore, we will not take you then", Septimus retorted.
"Alright, both of you don't start again, honestly will you guys ever stop bickering. The next time we will explore, it will be in the evening since there will be more students awake that can help direct us to places, " I said, trying to ease the tension in the atmosphere.
15 Minutes Later
We sat down and talked about what our passions were. It turns out that Septimus loved history, no surprise there. Since what else was to be expected of him? He grew up in an old pureblooded house where its inhabitants were just 'too keen' on talking about the good old days.
When we were going to talk about what would be the most exciting or enjoyable lesson, Nott announced that he would direct us to Great Hall. We paused the conversation there, not that I enjoy talking with kids, but living as an albeit mature one for 11 years has influenced my mentality slightly.
We walked past what seemed to be a congregation of ghosts talking about the birth of a shadow wolf cub to be in a few days. That caught my attention. Shadow wolves were what seemed to be the best familiars one could have; they were immortal and would bond with its owners family and protect them after its owner died, I wanted to have it as a familiar, but they were just too rare. The last Shadow wolf that was seen was almost two hundred years ago. But now I guess I will have to find the cub.
This was an urgent matter, and since the news was heard from by the ghosts, it was most likely accurate, but unfortunately, someone may have also heard the news or will hear it soon. So as we neared the Great Hall, I entered the nearest male bathroom, set a privacy ward and called for Sharpy.
"Sharpy, use the entire Shadow Elf legion and scour the forbidden forest for a pregnant Shadow wolf and ensure that they are subtle", I said urgently. "Ok, Master", a quiet voice responded, and subsequently, a soft pop was heard.
I briskly walked towards the hall to see Septimus and Horace frantically looking around for me. "Where were you mate? We were going to ask a prefect to look for you in a few minutes if you didn't turn up", they replied in what seemed to be twins speak. "Oh, I dropped my letter that I wrote to my parents, so I retraced my steps and found it, and rushed back", I spoke instantaneously. 'Thank god, I have a bank of responses for these kinds of situations.
I sat down and decided that I would have a cheat day today; those pancakes were just too fluffy. After three helpings of pancakes and an exciting story of how Horace stumbled upon a Billywig in his backyard at home and made a new friend, we received our new time tables.
'Hmmm, this seems interesting.'

15-minute break in between lessons
Monday: Transfiguration,Charms,Herbology
Tuesday: History of magic, magical theory, herbology,
Wednesday: Charms, Transfiguration, DADA
Thursday: Potions double, Flying
Friday: History of magic, magical theory, Astronomy double
"Well, this is good, lessons start at 8:30.
The first lesson is from 8:30-10:00.
From 10:15-11:45 is the second lesson.
Lunch is from 11:45-13:00.
And lastly, the third lesson is from 13:00-14:30.
It seems that classes end at 14:30 usually unless you count astronomy which starts at 10 pm and ends at 1 am. Seems fun." I exclaimed.
