Chapter 25 - Ch 25: Battle

When Zane heard the blasting trumpet sound, he felt a suffocating feeling. He knew it was his perception ringing him that something extremely dangerous was coming.

The moment he saw the beast, he used identify.

Blazing Tusk Mammoth

Level: 13 (Awakened)

Strength: 33

Agility: 16

Perception: 9

Constitution: 35

Mana Capacity: 7

Genetic Skill: LVL 1 Flame Blast, LVL1 Flame Manipulation

Zane's eyes were about to pop when he saw the stats of the Mammoth.

"What the heck is this!?"

'Even Gerax's stats are not as high compared to this beast.'

He unintentionally glanced at Gerax and found him similarly stupefied, his eyes and mouth agape.

Observing each person in turn, Zane witnessed individuals relinquishing their weapons, their eyes devoid of spirit. Numerous among them simply... surrendered.

'Shit, we are dead.'

In their mind, this is not something you can win against. Just the sheer monstrosity was very domineering. They already know that it is their time.

Suddenly, Zane heard a loud shout.

"FOOLS!"

"STOP DAY DREAMING! PREPARE FOR BATTLE!" Gerax shouted.

His shouting brought everyone back to reality.

The mammoth saw the crowds ahead of him, with bloodshot eyes, it ran towards it.

How to halt a charging cavalry? Phalanx formation. However, this was no mere horse; it was a colossal beast. So, how does one stop a galloping creature standing 20 ft tall and weighing over 20,000 pounds?

The answer is you don't, you get the hell away from it. That is what Zane did, get far as away as possible.

The Blazing Tusk Mammoth's agility was higher than his, so the best way to prepare for it is by running away from it ahead of time. When Zane was running, he saw a familiar person, it was Old Gramps. He looks comical running for his life without even looking back. He also saw Baret the spearman and his next-door Theo.

Definitely, the first ones to die were those with shorter legs. The mammoth easily found the closet's target. It swung its long tusk and smack them away. They didn't even fly, with the strength of the mammoth reaching up to 30s they just became like flies who were smashed to bits with sheer brute strength.

When the crowd saw that many were running around like ants, they laugh at their demise.

"Look at these cowards! They said Umbra house is one of the strongest houses in Capricia but it seems that they are just a bunch of chickens."

"HAHAHA! It seems we will see a wipeout today!"

"Look at Gerax, the so-called hero of the Umbra can't even do a thing."

"Hah! He will die today!"

Upon hearing this, a cloaked man in the noble's podium remarked, "It's not that Gerax is weak, but the beast young master Ash brought is undeniably quite strong."

As the other nobles turned their gaze toward him, he exuded a peculiar aura. They were well aware that this individual was not to be trifled with. A controlled power simmered beneath the surface, ready to be unleashed at his discretion. Compared to the beast below, this enigmatic man emanated an even more suffocating aura.

Grinning, Ash interjected, "We captured this beast in the Forest of Nightmare on the Western continent. To subdue it alive, we required the effort of 10 Awakened. I doubt any noble houses could rival it."

Those who heard his words were taken aback. Awakened Warriors were an exceedingly rare breed, especially within Capricia City. The even more astonishing revelation was the Forest of Nightmare's name. Rumor had it that even Awakened Warriors were mere ants in the eyes of the forest's enigmatic denizens.

Many regarded it as the graveyard of formidable warriors, with even the mightiest evolved humans meeting their demise. Though the Nightmare Forest held allure for its production of high-level magical plants, fruits, and ores—especially deeper within—most ventures into its depths ended in death, with only a fortunate few emerging alive.

Meanwhile, down below in the arena, 20 minutes after its appearance, the mammoth had already claimed nearly 50 lives. A few Blood Warriors attempted to rally and confront it, but the creature's sheer strength and agility proved insurmountable.

Gerax understood that only he had the capacity to slay it, and accomplishing that required the aid of the remaining surviving Blood Warriors.

Suddenly, Gerax heard a shout, "Target its back right knees!"

When he looked up, he saw Zane pointing at the beast's knees. Then he looked at the beast's back right knees. He was surprised because it seems that the leg was darker than the legs. If you look closer, it is wounded and still in the process of healing.

A while ago, Zane was trying to find something that can be used to weaken the beast just so that he can even the playing field with Gerax. Suddenly he remembered that he was able to identify parts of the body if he just focus enough. Then, sure enough, after identifying them one by one he found that the right leg was suffering.

Blazing Tusk Mammoth (Back Right Leg)

Vital Signs: Heavy Wounds, Necrosis, Magic Radiation poisoning.

When Gerax saw the opportunity, he hid in the shadows of the running masses. The opportunity came when the mammoth tried to raise two of its legs to stomp a group of warriors fleeing.

Without hesitation, Gerax whispered, 'Speed Burst',

His body glowed, then like a shadow his speed doubled outstripping the mammoth can perceive. Furthermore, the massive body of the mammoth hindered its ability to see Gerax under its belly.

His two golden swords slashed down on the back right knees, under the patella bones of the Blazing Tusk Mammoth.

The sound of the cutting of meat can be heard but unfortunately, it wasn't able to go past the bones. When the Blazing Tusk Mammoth felt the pain it trumpet so loud that made many close to it bleed their ears.

Then, the Blazing Tusk Mammoth fell to its knees with blood gushing out of its legs.

A heavy wound was inflicted on the Mammoth.
