Her playful teases resulted her to bumped another that she collapsed on the ground with her small frame. Dmitri rushed towards her but strong arms already lifted her and help her to stand.
"Are you okay?" there's a hint of worry in his voice. Einne looked at him and he looked somewhat familiar. His worried expression warmed her heart as if telling her he was something important to her. Shoot Coreen Lin!
She tried to distance herself with a gap. This is not good for her heart. She looked at him once more and fear quickly rose from her bile. It seems she stumbled with the male protagonist that she trembled and gripping Dmitri's hand.
"I'm okay. Thank you. We'll go ahead." while dragging Dmitri along. Dmitri meets David's eyes but they both looked angry with each other. They exchanged cold expression and ignored each other.
While distracted while avoiding David at all cost, Einne bumped another person along the way that all of the papers flew in the air. She remembered how hard could it be to organized paperworks that she helped getting them on the ground. While picking and scanning them, she read the owner's name while handing the last paper she get.
Einne was taken aback when she saw another familiar person in front her.
"Thank you." she said timidly as if she bullied her again. Einne still remembered how this woman played her cards at being victim. It flashed to her as if a preview that she froze a bit. Carmen Tan. David Young. What a coincidence meet up within a day! How lucky.
It was Dmitri who wake her up to her senses as he grabbed him away from Carmen. He looked at Carmen with unknown disgust and lead Einne somewhere.
"It seems Ms. Coreen has the habit to bump everyone." his insulting remarks was a relief to her. She looked at him with pleading gaze to take her along with him.
"Why do you think I will tag you along?" as if he was reading her mind.
She clutched her hand on his bag and shirt while biting her lips to endure from his harsh words.
"Please. Just for today."
He cluck his tongue and removed her hands. He walked ahead of her as if she was abandoned. Her dispirited self looked at the ground to ease her panicking self.
"I wished to travel back with my office and ordinary life. Please send me back! I promised to be diligent and not complain no matter how hard it is. Please return me to my plain and monotone life. Where I could be safe and be alive. I beg of you Author! Game master or whoever witch you are! "she whispered in silence while looking the ground. It was a tug which she gazed whoever it is.
" Will you join me or not? Time is ticking you lazy." she grabbed Dmitri's bag and went with him.
" I am coming with you, you grumpy uncle! " she teased with relief.
Pair of eyes looked at them with frustration. David couldn't believe how thing progressed the way they are. His father's phone call disrupts him in his thought and decided to go to his sched meeting.
The family of Lin and Young was in a lunch meeting and discussed their amongst them. They are waiting for their children to come before they proceed their lunch. David came earlier then followed by Coreen. They were both silence as they sit opposite with each other. It was sudden family meet up and it was unusual for them to have lunch together. Coreen smiled politely at Mr. and Mrs. Young and glanced with hidden indifference at David.
Their family were closed before they were born and they were also childhood friends. Einne could guess what is the purpose of this meet up and she is confident that the other party involved will opposed.
"Coreen was truly beautiful and exemplary lady. She was truly bloomed like what you used to bragged Eden." It was Stella who praised her good developments.
"Your son too is magnanimous individual. Very young to join and promoted to CEO this year. You must be proud also." it was Eden's turn to give her admiration to David. David smiled at him sweetly as he used to.
"Knowing that our children were both excellent, perhaps we could agree that they would be match in marriage." the old Young suggested which surprised the old Lin as well.
Einne already know this could happen but since this is not her novel, she knows how this marriage proposal ends.
" Making them marriage partners is a good idea. However, I think kids these day will air their opinions too. Afterall we were bystander in their marriage." the Old Lin stated. He knows it will benefit both parties but the kids will be affected.
"How about you Coreen? Do you perhaps fancy someone else? You used to chase David when you were younger. Perhaps marrying him will be a good choice to you." it was Stella who expected her to agree right away. She knows how Stella adored her more than anyone else.
She looked at David before she speaks." I have no objections regarding this proposal however, " glancing at David with mockery. I give you the chance to disagree buddy she thought. "it is up to my parent's decision if they agree. I believe David too has something to tell too."
'I know when it comes to rejection, you were excellent with it' she thought as she was resuming her meal.
"I believe I had to say what's on my mind too. Regarding this proposal, I can't wait to make it official."
A loud thud from the fork fell of the table. David signaled the waiter to replace her new fork.
What the heck! Does he go crazy? She silently cursed while tightly holding her knife as if she would soon stab the cause of her misery.
" Then it is settled then. I am happy to be in laws with the Lins."
