It was the usual day where her classes began and ended. Her shift is already done and she dragged herself to her apartment when she notice the mail in her box. It was from her university and she had a bad feeling about it. With mixed feelings, she opened them and it was a notice to require her to go back to her mother university for her last year. Unexpected nightmare hammered her that her peaceful life in Berlin will soon finished and her reality will start once she returnsto her home city.
Will her fate resumes? She wonders that she even forgot how her life as Coreen revolves in that place. She was too confident she remain in Berlin even forever. A call from Eden breaks her ponder and she heave countless sigh.
"Coreen." She never hated that name but she was uncomfortable to be called that way. She is reminded of her very role in that novel.
"Yes mom," she can't hide her uneasiness from her tone.
" Is there something wrong? You know you alwaslys tell me. I am your confidant afterall" her comforting voice slowly melts her frustration. What would she do if Eden is out of the characters? She might end up tragically.
"I am afraid when I returned home," confessing to her was the first, she couldn't even tell even in her reality.
"I am afraid I go berseck and go back with disappointments."
"You are never a disappointment to me. Maybe you run someone's patience sometimes but you will never disappoint me."
She wanted to cry and crawl back to her office life when she remembered that her very role is to pave way for the heroine. She remembered how broken Eden was and grew estranged with Coreen's dad which resulted to their family's ruin with the news of her death. Her death is a celebration for the main characters and a relief but what concerns her more are the ones who truly lost in this cliche novel. That is Eden and Coreen's father.
She must protect them at all cost in the name of her office life.
"Thank you mom, thought I may not be your blood related daughter but you trully loved me with all your heart. I won't disappoint you." she assured Eden. She heard a dramatic cries on the other line which is unexpected.
"My dear Coreen! Why did you grow up so fast. Even thought you didn't come out from my womb, I know in my heart and in my gut that you will be always my daughtercI longed and prayed for."
This might be overly response but Einne couldn't help but smiled at what she heard. Courage surges within her as she led to another battle of delayed drama.
This is no revenge, this is no karma or retribution. This is just pure rejection. She decline to be a tragic villainess, her story is on another genre.
Another mail was also sent to Dmitri's apartment. He already know the content and decided to rip them into pieces and continue to play his fingers with sinister tune as if it exudes hatred and anger. His music was too overwhelming that scent of oppression diffused to every listening ear. It is time to settle the score as he looked at someone's picture he loathes the most.
The school was already notified with the return of the exchange students for abroad. It was also widespread among the school website the students who are returning of different departments including the music and performing arts majors. There are only two students in the department sent that abroad, while the picture of Coreen Lin and Dmitri Young was posted as returning students.
