Lisa thought for a moment, then answered,
"He, you'll know later." Lisa tugged at the corners of her lips, smiling with a strange look on her face.
Vira had doubts in her heart about Lisa's words. As far as she knew... Ucup, Tukiyem, and Minah were Lisa's best friends—when had that girl made friends in the capital city?
Seeing Vira's confused face, Lisa didn't stop trying to convince her.
"You don't believe your sister, do you?" Lisa raised one eyebrow.
Vira nodded slowly. Let's just say she believed, though she didn't want to get into a long conversation with Lisa.
In Vira's heart, she was pleased that Lisa had given her so many gifts, and it seemed like she was no longer half-hearted for the first time. Next, Vira had to leave this house.
Her first trip would be by bus to the airport—no private car ride here.
She was very grateful.
She got a free plane ticket and could save money to rent a house.
How happy!
Vira could enjoy staying in a luxury hotel, free of charge.
Geez, Lisa provided that facility for free. She couldn't believe it! Ah, what a dream she had last night.
Lisa was an angel today.
"Lisaaaaa!"
Aunt Tina's scream—Lisa's mother—surprised the two girls.
"Uh, mom was looking for you earlier. You're gossiping here—hurry up and help me clean up the coffee and pepper sacks!" Tina asked Lisa.
"Mom, don't be kidding! How could a beautiful and sexy girl like me be carrying coffee and pepper sacks!" Lisa pouted.
"Eh, you're so tidy! Where are you going?" Tina pointed at Vira with a disapproving face.
"Geez, what are you wearing?" Aunt Tina was surprised to see the dress Vira was wearing.
"After all, those are nice clothes. Where did you steal them from?" Lisa pinched Vira's waist.
"Mom, let me help clean up the garden!" Lisa spoiled. She pushed her mother's shoulders away from Vira.
"Listen to me, you'd better hurry up and go!" Lisa whispered, urging her cousin to leave their house.
"Vira, where are you going? If you leave, who's going to cook, clean, and mop in this house, huh?!" Tina shouted, refusing to accept Vira's departure.
"I have to go, Aunt. I'm going to college in the city!" Vira replied, speeding up her steps.
"Huh, why are you studying? You won't be successful. Hurry back and help me with the housework!"
Aunt Tina's answer disappointed Vira. But that was how it was.
"Mom, let's go to the garden!" Lisa asked her mother.
"Why did you let Vira go to the city?" Tina glared at her daughter.
"Oh my God!" Lisa was surprised to realize that Vira's flight ticket was left behind.
She ran after Vira, leaving her angry mother.
Tina widened her eyes. She ran after the two girls, but due to her large body, she had quite a hard time getting down the stairs quickly.
"Vira!" Lisa shouted. "Luckily I can run fast! Now, grab the ticket—hurry up! Go!" Lisa pointed at the car that was getting closer.
Tina appeared behind them.
"Lisa, why are you playing with me?!" Tina shouted, irritated, hands on her knees. She was exhausted.
"What if Vira's goal in the city is to grab your future husband?! After this, you'd better hurry to the salon. Okay, so that your future husband will be mesmerized by your beauty!"
Lisa scratched her head at Tina's words. "That's what I want!" she whispered to herself.
"Eh, Vira. Study hard in the city, huh? But don't expect to be successful or lucky like Lisa!" Tina scoffed at the car carrying Vira.
"Later we'll meet in the city. Lisa will marry a man from the city, a rich person!" said Tina, smiling happily.
Vira took a deep breath. In this village, when girls turn 20 years old, it's only natural for parents to demand that their daughters marry. Poor Lisa, Vira thought.
Vira got into the car and took a deep breath. She was leaving the Darsono house.
"Oh, Lisa, when do we go to the city? Has your mother forgotten?"
"Next month, mom!" Lisa answered with a lazy face, leaving Tina behind.
"Just ask Lisa, mother's feelings—yesterday, next month as your answer..." Lisa drifted away, not caring about her mother's astonished face.
"Lisa, have you received the money and the gift? I want to see it!"
Lisa accelerated her pace, running away from her mother.
She glanced at her cellphone screen and read where she would meet her lover in a moment.
"It's good to play with other people's kids! Someone proposed a marriage agreement with his secret identity. He thinks I'm a stupid country girl who's easy to trick! And most importantly, I have a boyfriend," Lisa grumbled irritably.
In the past month, the Darsonos had received mysterious packages and letters. The letters contained marriage proposals and matchmaking offers, but it wasn't clear who sent them—only the city's name was on the envelope.
Tina, of course, was pleased to receive various expensive packages and gifts. Lisa thought her daughter would get this marriage proposal, but unfortunately, Lisa had already taken the first step.
She could not possibly be arranged with a mysterious, mysterious man.
"Surely he's a toothless grandpa, aged, or even the juniors are sluggish and can't stand up. Ah... being a popular beautiful girl is tough!"
