Maxwell is sitting in his office and having a discussion with Michael, when he received a message from Evelyn. He wanted to ignore it at first but when more keep coming in, he decide to check it. It was some pictures of the three of them and Simon. They were having fun shopping and all that. Maxwell did not want to read any meaning to it but then he saw some other messages from Evelyn again.
"Your girlfriend has been snatched by her cousin" he was pissed off by that statement and even more angry at the fact that she does not want their relationship to be made public. Maxwell dislike Simon presence but he knows that Sonya really likes him and he is her only family.
"Should we continue another time?" Michael asked.
"Why? Do you have something to do?" He asked. "Yes, I have a blind date and it seems you won't have time for this anymore cause of that message" he replied.
"A blind date? Your mom must be eager to marry you off" he said. Michael throw a paper towards him
"you are the one who will get married off. Am just obeying her because I also wants to get marry" he replied.
"so you are together with her now. You were acting like some one who just lost his first love few days ago" he added in a mocking manner.
"at least I succeeded unlike someone who has been to more than fifty blind date without finding the right one" he reply in the same mocking manner.
"that's because I've really not find the right one for me, am not like you who fall for beauty only, I need to get someone who has everything to qualify has my wife" he restored and left. Maxwell after laughed at him. and called Amy in and instruct her to call Sonya to the office for an emergency.
Sonya was tired but didn't want to show it because of Simon. Shopping was not her thing but she did not want to complain because of Simon. Evelyn and Loveth were very happy and picking a lot of things. Her phone rang and she picked. Then Amy informed her to come to the office immediately. She answered okay and walk to where Simon is.
"Do you not like anything here? If you don't we can go somewhere else." He said to her.
"No, is not that. I really like it here. But I have to go. There's an emergency at work" she told him.
"Why? Today is Saturday, what kind of emergency is it for a lower staff like you to be called in for it" he asked perplexed. "It's really not like that. I will explain to you when I get back. And also don't worry about me I will just go alone, you can continue" she said and made to leave.
"Wait! I will take you there. Am here because of you anyways so we will just continue another time" he said and they inform Evelyn and Loveth. They decide to continue while Simon drop Sonya.
They arrive there and Simon stop his car at the entrance. Just at that time Maxwell was also coming out with Amy and saw them. Sonya also saw him and alighted from the car to meet him. Simon also follow her.
"Mr Hart" she said. Maxwell look over her shoulders and saw Simon trailing behind her.
"You are late" he said keeping a straight face.
"Sorry, she was with me" Simon answered instead. Maxwell glance at him for a second and ignored him.
"Let's go" he said and pull Sonya towards the car with him and they car drove off.Simon stand there and watch them leave before he also enter his car and went away.
"What emergency do we have?" Sonya asked.
"Why? You don't want to go with me" he asked instead and Sonya kept quiet. Maxwell ask the driver to drive them to a very popular cloth store.
"Why are we here?" She asked when the driver put over.
"To buy clothes. I need to buy something new for myself" he answered and got down with her. The staffs welcome them warmly and lead them to the place for VVIP. Maxwell asked them to bring out all their latest clothes.
"Why do you need more clothes? You have more collection of clothes at home" Sonya ask him still confused. "Am here to buy some clothes for my girlfriend" he said. Sonya felt that something was no right.
"why would he want to buy her clothes all of a sudden" she thought. While they were bringing out the clothes she opened her phone and got a notification about evelyn's latest update then she saw pictures of them at the Mall and other places. Maxwell must have also seen it. She thought and its all made sense. Given his personalty, she did not think that he will be such a jealous person. She move closer to Maxwell and sat very close to him. She raise her face very close to him ears and whisper in the most lovely voice.
"Am very hungry" she wanted to act cute. Maxwell was still telling something to the manager when he felt her face near to him. He inhale her scent and the words he wanted to say hang in his throat. Then he heard her sweet voice in his ears and stop moving and turn his face towards her. Their lips was less than one inch apart. Sonya keep staring at him waiting for his reply but Maxwell mind was concentrated on her lips and he feel like he was losing control over himself. He tried very hard not to kiss and quickly turn back to the manager. he instruct them to select all their latest clothes in Sonya's size and sent it to her house. Then he paid and they left to eat something. They spent the day together and he later drop her off at home. Sonya entered and saw Simon in the house with Evelyn and Loveth.
"Why are you here?" She said surprised.
"You were not picking up my calls, so I decide to wait for you here." He answered.
"Why are you so surprised? Sonya sit down.
"Am sure she was on a.." Sonya use her hand to cover Evelyn's mouth before she could say anything further.
"I was on an official mission" she said.
"Why don't you start going now, I have a lot of things to do." She said trying to send him off.
"Why did I feel that you are acting strange. He said as he stood up.
"What are you doing tomorrow?" He asked. She recall that she promised Charles to read together tomorrow already. "Why? I have an appointment with a classmate to read together" she replied.
"I need to finish some assignment and also exam is fast approaching I have to read" she further explain.
"Okay then, when you're free inform me" he said and made to leave. Sonya escort him.
"She must have a date with her boyfriend" loveth said to Evelyn and Simon overheard her. He turn back and stare at Sonya.
"Date? With who?" Sonya was at lost on what to say.
"She knows that if she denies it Evelyn and Loveth might say something else.
"They are not talking about me" she said and quickly push him out.
