"What do you say to him after I left" Sonya asked.
"Why?"
"Because am sure Simon won't let me leave with you for no reason" she answered.
"I told him that you called me to come pick you up" he said.
"And he believed it" she said in disbelief.
"No, he didn't" he replied.
"I knew he won't believe something like that"
"but I guess he didn't want to say more to me" he continued and nobody talk again till they got back to his house.
"Why are we here at your place?" "You have exams in few weeks, you need to study" he said and open the door for her. They walk inside the house and Maxwell told her to feel at home and he went upstairs. Sonya sat down and read for a while before she slept off. Maxwell came back and saw her asleep. He cover her books and carry her to the room and place her on the bed. Then he went to small office he had in the house to complete some work.
Sonya woke up at night and look around her. She was in Max
well's room. She removed the quilt from her body and entered the bathroom to ease herself. She came and there was no sign of Maxwell. She noticed that the room seems to have changed a bit. There was something that belongs to a lady like bathroom slippers. The last time she was here, she had used his own. She went to his closet and saw some clothes too in her size and underwear. She smile to herself and pick one of them to wear them then entered the bathroom again to take a shower. After she finished she put on her underwear and was about to wear the night gown he kept for her when he open the door. Sonya quickly put it on.
"Why didn't you knock?" She said and facing him, putting on her clothes properly.
"Sorry, I didn't know you were dressing" he said.
"Are you through with your work?" She asked instead and Maxwell nodded to indicate yes.
"So how about we watch a movie now, I can just download it" she suggested.
"There is no need for that. We can always watch it anytime. Are must be tired, so is better you get some sleep because you need to read tomorrow. After your exam we can do anything" he replied.
"Okay then." She said.
"Since we are talking about doing anything, why don't we start by doing something right now" he said with a mischievous look. "What something?" Sonya asked.
"Something that should be done by two people in a relationship, something very exciting and enjoyable" he said and walk over to her. He held her and move to kiss her.
"is he talking about that?" She thought and quickly push him.
"I don't want to right now. We just started dating and I think it's too early" she said.
"What are you talking about?" Maxwell said pretending not to understand her.
"I Know you are a man but I don't think it's okay for us to have sex today and..."
"What are you talking about? I meant dinner" he said with a confused expression.
"Eh" Sonya was puzzled then she realized that he was playing around with her.
"You idiot" she said and pick up a pillow to hit him. Maxwell try to escape her but she won't relent. They ran around the room and then fell on the bed together with Sonya on top of him. Sonya still continue to hit him then Maxwell grab her two hands and stop her from moving. Sonya struggle to release herself from his hold. "Don't move" Maxwell said in a panicking tone. Sonya stop moving and look at him.
"Don't move at all or what you are thinking might happen" he said again.They remain like that for a while until they heard a knock on the door.
"Sir, Miss, dinner is ready" the house keeper said. Sonya quickly use that opportunity to stand up and they both went out to eat. They ate in silence for a while before Maxwell broke the silence. "Why don't you want your cousin to know you have a boyfriend?" He asked. Sonya waited to swallow the food in her mouth before she answer.
"There is no particular reason. It's just that I made a promise to him to just focus on what I came here to do and in the course of that, I promise I won't date anyone" she answered.
"Why would he want you to promise him that" he asked again. "He really likes me a lot and he doesn't want anyone to hurt my feeling. Funny right, and also am not dating just anyone, it's the richest man in the country and I don't think he will feel comfortable about that" she explained. Maxwell doesn't know why but he feels like there is something else about her cousin.
"But why do I think that dating me is better and it's will give him more assurance that I won't hurt you" he said not giving up.
"It's not about that. And we are just dating. Is not like we are going to get married or anything" she said nonchalantly and continue to eat.
"So you just want to date me" he said.
"Or what else?" She reply and realize that she has said something wrong.
"I don't mean it like that. What I meant was.." she trailed off not knowing how to continue. She looked at Maxwell's face and it's doesn't look like he is angry at all, it's also doesn't look like he is happy" Sonya thought about what to do to retify her words.
"Maxwell" she begin and move closer to his side and try to act cute.
"Actually, I don't just plan to date you, I also think that we are going to get married and have kids. A boy and a girl. I've thought of a great plan about us. I just said that to tease you" she said in hope that he will be pleased. Maxwell smiled and Sonya know that is a sign that her word has pleased him.
"the company annual celebration is in two months. You should decide if you will come as my subordinate or my girlfriend" Sonya keep quiet and they ate the remaining food in silence.
"I already arrange a room for you next to mine. I don't think we should sleep together tonight. But if you want I don't mind" Maxwell said as they got back to his room. Sonya smiled at him and quickly grab her stuff and ran out. She open the door to the next room. It was furnished according how she has always wanted her room to be. It was blue in cloth and almost everything was in blue color. She rush to the bed and lay on it. A whoa escape from her mouth. She feels so comfortable. The fact that she has told him everything about her on XXX app is really to her advantage. She thought and realize that it's has been long since they both log in. She log in and saw some of her other friend online. It's seems like they were trying to play a game. Gentle man was also online. After Maxwell, he's the next person she will say she is really close to again. But she doesn't relate well with him like Maxwell. He sent her a private message and she quickly check it.
"About the girl I told you, do you think I should tell her my feelings now?" She read and reply.
"I thought you already confess. Why? do you fail then?" She receive another message.
"When I told her the first time, she didn't take me seriously and took it as a joke. But now it seems like there is someone else who likes her" Sonya replied again.
"I think is better you quickly come clean before she gets snatched by someone else" she waited for a while before receiving his reply.
"I will do just that. But what about you? You've never mentioned anything about guys" Sonya wanted to just reply causally but she decide otherwise.
"I have a boyfriend now" she sent. She waited and when she didn't get a reply from him, she decide to log out.
