"You should come here often, Adora. You sure would love to hang out here." I was flattered when Dem said that. I would love to but would they love to hang out with me after knowing my condition? Sure thing, they won't.
"Excuse me for awhile. Adora, just wait here I have to get something."
"We will take care of her, Sal. Bring the most expensive bottle." Sal laughed in excitement and walked away dancing her body. She's indeed crazy.
"You're 18 already. Best timing,"
"Yeah, I'm glad I was able to celebrate it here with strangers." I tried to get along with them. They are jolly and fun to be with, I guess.
"We're not strangers anymore, dear."
"Yah, and look at you. You are so damn beautiful." the girl on red lips complimented, if to remember her name is Clarisse.
"You have a boyfriend?" The guy besides Clarisse asked. He had a very cute smile, he had a thin but attractive body, his eyes were so beautiful, plus his lashes and brows were thick. I envy him.
"Nah, I never wished to have." I laughed awkwardly.
"Woah, how many guys did you dump?" Gray asked. "Never had one."
Silence occupied us for a little while and Dem started laughing because of their reaction.
"You all looks so shock. Many girls right now don't want a lover. It's too clingy and a waste of time." Dem said as if she has the worst love life experience.
"Don't mind her Adora. She's broken and wasted." Ella jokingly taps Dem's back but Dem gazes at her as if she wants Ella to be toasted.
"Do you have a death wish El?" El immediately raises both of her hands to surrender.
"Chillax. I never wish to die right now but if I wish to, I'll immediately tell you." Dem just rolled her eyes and ate up.
I was just sitting the whole time listening with their jokes. They started asking me about my school life and they seemingly felt bored about it.
"Is there a toilet here?" I asked anyone. Something's wanna out of my system.
"Just head straight, you can see only one door in there." Ella answered.
I stood up and hurried straight to where Ella was pointing earlier. I found a little door in front and knocked. When no one was answering I immediately opened it and as I saw the toilet I immediately took off my denim and underpants and peed. The feeling was so nice. After peeing I flush the toilet and went out. The party is not yet over and I saw everyone dancing on the stage. No one was left on the couch.
This is really not my thing. I stepped my feet and looked straight. I saw a man at the counter drinking something. The place was dim so I wasn't able to see his face clearly and since he's on a side view. He has an outstanding look among other guys here. His army cut hair makes him more attractive and also the way he holds the glasses and drinks what's in it. I studied his motion and was stunned when someone blocked my sight.
"You want a dance?" Amster offers.
"I am not into dancing. Maybe I should just stay on the couch, I'm a little dizzy." I acted.
"Oh sure," he guided me until I reached the couch and sat. "Thanks."
"Small thing." He went back to the stage and everyone was shouting and dancing.
"What's going on with that man over there? He seems so lonely." Dem is holding a mic mentioning the man at the counter.
The man looked at them and laughed. "C'mon! Let's dance."
Everyone is looking at him and wanting him to go on stage and dance with them. He was just smiling at them. His smile is crazy attractive. I was caught on guard looking at him and he just smiled at me.
"I'll just dance if that girl over there will dance with me."
The ladies and men are now looking at me. Ella walked near me and asked me to stand up. I just shook my head. "No, I am sensitive with lights."
"Turn the disco light off!" Ella shouted and the disco light was immediately off in no seconds.
"Come on! It's your day! You should enjoy it!"
My eyes went to the man at the counter who is also looking at me. What is he into? This is ridiculous. "Adora, come one."
Ella's voice is very effective. My body just stood up and held Ella's hand and went on stage. "Come on Ty!"
He went off the chair and walked near us to join us dancing. We're making a circle and everyone is just moving their body according to the beat. We made a bigger circle and Gray went to the center and made a freestyle dance. Everyone is cheering, Gray stops and pointed at Sally. Sally gave me a smile and went inside the circle and danced.
Everyone, we're laughing happily. Sally pointed at another person and the dance continued. It was Ella's turn and she then pointed at me. I was shocked, I am no good at dancing.
"Go Adora!"
"Go Ara!" Ella pulled me at the center and everyone is gazing at me right now.
My mind went back to my dream earlier. The gazes, the laughs, they make me feel dizzy. And so now, the loud beat of the sound is giving a loud beat on my chest. I wanna sink into the music, but I was distracted by an echo in my head.
"Ran away Adora! Hide and never come out!"
"You don't deserve this!"
"You are a shame!"
All I can hear is Annie's voice echoing in my head. The hotness is burning my whole body and my head aches. My knees trembled and before I could fall, I felt a long broad arm hold my back, my eyes were searching for something and found a beautiful pair of eyes. And everything went in black.
As I opened my eyes I noticed myself lying on a soft bed. This bed isn't mine. I helped myself to sit on the bed and was shocked to see a man sitting on a chair. His eyes looked at me. The room is bright so I could clearly see the beautiful face of the man in front of me.
"Where's Sally?" A sudden knock interrupted me and as the door open it pulls out Sally holding a tray with food.
"Do you feel better now?" I nodded.
"You're tired. It's 7 pm you should eat so we could go home already." She puts the tray on the bed.
My eyes went back again to the man earlier. But he's already gone. "Have you eaten?"
"Yes, so eat up."
After my meal we already wave goodbye to them. I wasn't able to make fun of them, it was sad 'cuz I thought I would be able to conquer my fear. That dream was traumatizing.
"See ya next time Adora!" Amster winked at me but I gave him a half-smile.
I looked for the boy earlier but I saw him from the back and went inside the house. Among the group he was the most silent guy.
"Adora, let's go." Sally grabbed my hand.
We saw Mang Glan leaning on the car as he was alarmed by our appearance and immediately opened the car for us. I went first and then Sally.
"Did you have fun?" Mang Glan asked as he turned the engine on.
"Yes Mang Glan." I answered without hesitation.
"You should have joined us earlier Mang Glan. I supposed waiting here was very boring." Sally said as Mang Glan drove the car.
"Waiting is never boring if it's worth it." Mang Glan seems to be referring to a different thing.
"That was deep Mang Glan." Mang Glan just chuckled and focused on his driving.
It's dark already but the two to three outdoor lamp we're making the place bright. There are still people walking outside and the lights of the house are still on. As we reached the highway, you will be able to see the hundreds of blinking lights of the city buildings.
I glanced at Sally and calle her name to confirm something. "Sally,"
"Hmmm?"
"About the guy earlier,"
"Yeah, about Tyler? Why?"
"Ah, he's Tyler. Just curious with his name. I wasn't able to introduce myself." Sally nodded.
"Yeah, actually it was his house. We always hang out at his house, since it is really quiet and a great place to have fun." I nodded in amazement.
"What about his mom and dad?" Sally was looking outside.
"His mom died when he was 6 and his dad got married again. He leaves separately with his dad. They are not on good terms." Sally said with a sad emotion. She seems to know him well.
So that was his life. How boring and sad it was. No wonder I could feel loneliness in his aura. But I do think he is a good person. I never asked Sally again and looked outside.
During the trip I didn't notice myself from falling asleep. It was 9 already when we reached home. Mom and dad welcomed us as we both entered the main door.
"You shouldn't wait for me."
"Good evening ma'am, sir." Mom and dad smiled at Sally. Sally bowed at us to respectfully say a goodbye.
"Thank you Sal."
"Pleasures ma'am. I'll go ahead." I smiled at Sally and she went to the maid's room. Mom and dad looked back at me.
"We really waited for you. We couldn't sleep waiting for the debutante. We have a gift for you sweetie."
My eyes widened when dad gave me a navy elegant box. The box itself reflects what is inside it, it could be very expensive
"You open it." I raise my hands to take the gift and am very excited to open it.
My hands slowly opened the box and a beautiful dazzling silver deluxe rhinestone bracelet was placed inside.
"Oh my God! Mom! Dad!" I couldn't help but to get emotional and hugged them both.
They never fail to surprise me. This bracelet is very beautiful. I wouldn't really remove it. I loosen my hug on them. Dad took the bracelet and he personally puts it on my wrist.
"Never remove this."
"I will never."
"Happy 18th sweetie.'' Mom kissed my forehead and hugged me.
"Happy birthday my baby girl." Dad hugged me also.
"Since you are already moving to college. We already asked your tita Minesa about you moving into her house."
Moving in her house? That was unexpected. I would really love it. "But with Sally. You'll be enrolling at the same university."
As I heard Sally's name my lips smiled. Tita Minesa was not blessed with a child. According to what mom said to me, she is all alone in her life. That's why I would really love to be with tita. Among my relatives tita Minesa was the softest one, not with tita Mendra. No.
"You should get up and sleep baby. I will let Meriya pack your things for tomorrow. Your documents for enrollment were processed already." Dad said with a reassuring smile.
"Thank you mom. Thank you dad."
"Let's do the crying tomorrow."
Mom joke. She will be really emotional once I leave this place. "She will really miss you baby. So let's do the goodbye tomorrow."
I went upstairs after waving a goodnight to mom and dad. Never excited to go to college, the feeling of smelling the aroma of school works and research I think I'll collapse. Morning came, my body really aches since we've been walking yesterday and I got tired.
I stretched my back as I began to sit on my bed. The rays of the sun capture my eyes, I tried to block it by my hand but my small hand isn't enough. I had no messy hair, since I got my head shine. Well, 6 years of existence and experience of waking up with messy hair is I think enough. We'll still die eventually.
A sudden knock interrupted my thought, lazily, I got down from my bed and opened the door. It was Meriya and Sally. Sally is already dressed up while I am still on my night terno pajamas.
"Good morning, Adora. You do your shower now, you and Sally will be out at 8 am."
I glanced at my wall clock and it's already 7am. I have one hour left but I am still sleepy. Yesterday was really tiring and I think I can't go now. "Adora!"
Meriya calls my name as she notices my face not in the mood for the trip. Yeah, I was excited to go to the city and meet tita Minesa. But gosh I could feel the muscles tangling on my body.
"Yeah, yeah, I'll shower now."
"I'll prepare you a suit. And mom will packed your things.'' I just nodded and took my towel.
"Yeah sure." I boringly respondes.
"Do you want all your clothes to be packed?"
"It's not that I'm moving there for lifetime tita, just two to three pairs. We can still buy stuff in the city." I said and went inside the bathroom letting them do what they wanted to do.
My hands we're fighting with my mind, if I open the shower I could feel the cold water pour into my tired body. Without thinking straight I opened the shower and my body danced crazily as the cold water poured in it.
It didn't take me that long to take my shower the important thing is I'm clean. Sally already prepared a simple outfit for me which I immediately wore. Things are packed already and all I have to do now is to retouch. I only draw an eyebrow and then put on my new wig. It's black curly hair and I like it.
Sally and Meriya patiently waited until I finished my retouching. I had my backpack on and my suitcase which is too light.
"Remember to always put a defense weapon on your bag. City is different." Tita Meriya reminded us.
Well, as I heard there were a lot of robberies and snatching happening in the city. People there are really scary and I think all of the students who have a night sched have any weapons to protect themselves. The world is dangerous in many different places so the thing to always remember is to be prepared and never trust anyone.
"You should always stick with Adora, Sally. Don't you ever think of creating a mess again." Sally sarcastically smiles. Sally was the warfreak between us, she is really fun in making trouble.
"Of course, I've changed. That's never my thing now." Meriya just gives her a warning stare.
"Yes mom!"
"Good."
Mom and dad are already in the other car waiting for us to come. They'll be heading to the city also for some business matters. I walked near their car as they saw me, they opened their window.
"Are you ready?"
"Yes mom,"
"Great sweetie. Get in the car."
I and Sally were in the other car. We waved goodbye to our maids and tita Meriya. Mang Glan is the one who drives right now. I haven't eaten yet but luckily we have brought a lot of food to eat.
"What do you think would be tita Minesa's house?" Sally asked as I ate the apple that was sliced already.
"Maybe a little small? Since she's alone? Or a little huge for the housemaid's and for guests."
"Woah, I really explored a lot of places at my age. And it was great that you were with me."
We smiled at each other and laughed because of nothing. We have the vibe on our own. Sometimes we are a little and more crazy. Well, if I am with Sally I became me, I was able to know me, and be myself. Indeed if you are with the right person that you are comfortable with you will be able to show off the real you.
Stick to that person and you'll be able to know yourself more. I am glad I have Sally 'cuz my 18 years of existence was never really that boring for a person with my condition.
