Well damn. I could've sworn I didn't see a skill like that in Vanport's status before.
("|Analyze|.") [Solace]
I tried to double check, but my Spirit Guide gave me a strange answer.
"Alert: |Analyze| has been obstructed by the skill |Appraisal Resistance|." [Spirit Guide]
("What?!") [Solace]
My surprise must have shown on my face since Vanport's expression shifted.
"You sneaky rat." [Vanport]
I stepped to the side as he slashed at me, leaving my back against the wall.
("Uh-oh.") [Solace]
I ducked down as Vanport struck the wall. He then tried to pull the sword out to no avail.
("It's stuck!") [Solace]
I gave him the good 'ol one-two to the chin, accompanied by a fancy one inch punch to the gut.
"Argh!" [Vanport]
Even through all that, Vanport still held onto the sword.
"|Physical Boost|!" [Vanport]
Hearing that, I saw him pull the sword out along with a chunk of wall still attached. How did I know there was still a chunk of wall there? It hit the back of my head.
"Ow!" [Solace]
Having a weird chunk that kind of looks like a rock at the end of his sword didn't faze Vanport. He just decided to use it like a hammer.
"Woah! Watch it!" [Solace]
I could feel the wind pass by as Vanport swung the sword-hammer. At some point he managed to hit the ground when I dodged, which somehow destroyed the rock and freed the blade.
("The shrapnels!") [Solace]
The rock broke apart, spraying bits and pieces everywhere. I raised my arms up to cover my eyes, which got me to notice my surroundings a bit.
("Maids?") [Solace]
I saw people, which I assume were servants, staring at us with fear and anxiety.
"All servants, alert the guards! An intruder has entered!" [Vanport]
That was a problem. Seeing as he ordered the servants for reinforcements, I guess he also just noticed them.
("Damn! I need to escape!") [Solace]
Having said that, what would be the quickest way for me to run? I could turn into a spirit, but I felt like it'd make me defenseless since I was smaller.
("Let's make some distance first.") [Solace]
Without thinking much, I leapt down the flight of stairs and booked it towards the door.
"|Swift Step|!" [Vanport]
I heard a flurry of footsteps rushing behind me. Soon, I saw Vanport rush past me before blocking my escape at the door.
("Son of a…!") [Solace]
I quickly thought of other routes. Glancing around, I found a multitude of windows. Unfortunately, they were very high up.
"There is no use trying to run. Face me." [Vanport]
Raising his sword, he held it horizontally near his mouth.
"|Flame Breath|." [Vanport]
Fire spewed out of his mouth, cloaking his sword in flame.
"Now that's just not fair! I don't have anything like that!" [Solace]
Then I remembered that I could actually do something similar. I equipped Vermillion Eclipse and activated some skills in preparation.
"|Reinforce|! |Enchant Flame|! |Enchant Lightning|!" [Solace]
"You have acquired |Experience|. |Reinforce| has gained a level." [Spirit Guide]
Vanport stared at me with mixed expressions.
"Those gauntlets… I feel like I've seen them before." [Vanport]
"Congrats. You're not the first." [Solace]
It was then that I was fully convinced that anyone who has met Master wants to kill him. Therefore, they would want to kill his disciple: Me.
"There he is! Surround him!" [???]
Armed men came running into the room. Within seconds, I was surrounded by speartips aimed at me.
"Well this doesn't look good." [Solace]
"Indeed. It would be best for you to surrender quietly." [Vanport]
Before replying, I quickly used |Analyze| on the armed men around me.
("There's about ten to fifteen men here. Each one is about level 30 to 50. I think I can deal with this.") [Solace]
Vanport seemed to be getting impatient from my silence, so I just shook my head.
"I don't think so." [Solace]
After hearing my reply, Vanport waved his hand towards me.
"Take him!" [Vanport]
The guards stepped forward and thrust at me at the same time. Luckily, I did have a move for this.
"|Revolving Shell Arts|." [Solace]
Moving my hands in a circle, I spun and redirected the spears towards their allies.
"You…!" [Vanport]
Vanport realized what was happening before it even finished. My skill had forced his allies to pierce each other's legs, leaving them immobile.
"My men…!" [vanport]
He seemed pretty angry from what I did. The guards all lay in a perfect circle that I created of them being connected by pointy sticks. Yes, I referred to spears as pointy sticks. Anyway, there was a lot of screaming and blood so I'm not even going to type out the gruesome scene.
"How dare you put them in that state!" [Vanport]
To be honest, I couldn't care less. So, I shrugged.
"I let them off without killing them. Aren't I nice?" [Solace]
