A man donned in pure silver armor, wielding a large straight sword with one hand, stood there with imposing presence. Other than the characteristics of gray curly hair and a magnificent beard, I couldn't help but notice something about his skin.
("Huh? This guy… isn't human?") [Solace]
The man had very similar features to a regular person, except for the strange scales that seemed to stretch across some parts of his skin.
("Let's take a peek. |Analyze|.") [Solace]

"Use of |Analyze| has granted |Experience|. |Analyze| has gained a level." [Spirit Guide]
Looking at his status had my eyes wide open.
("Level 71?! Look at those numbers! How many times stronger than me is he?!") [Solace]
I noticed the lack of numbers in some areas, but I knew damn well that each and every one of them dwarfed mine.
"Vanport! You've arrived!" [Medwin]
Medwin puffed out his chest with pride as he addressed the knight beside him.
"...My lord, how may I be of service?" [Vanport]
Although he was asking Medwin, I could see that his eyes were already scanning the room. I was pretty sure he got the gist of it the moment he set foot here.
"Knight Vanport, I'd like you to assist Sir Haverend in his endeavors." [Medwin]
"My lord, as your personal knight, I believe I should only act upon helping you." [Vanport]
"Yes, yes. This "is" helping me. Do you see that young lady over there?" [Medwin]
Tracing Medwin's finger to Fina, Vanport looked at her with pity.
"I see. The young master will be marrying her, therefore benefiting the house of Medwin. This is something I may take action in." [Vanport]
Vanport then approached Haverend, Fina's father, and bowed slightly.
"Knight Vanport, head of the Medwin knights. May I ask for your orders?" [Vanport]
"Ah, Knight Vanport. The pleasure is mine. I'd like you to assist me in restraining my son. He's… being quite rebellious at the moment." [Haverend]
"Understood." [Vanport]
Turning to Relton, Vanport set his sword aside.
"I'd like to ask if you could sit and watch. It would be problematic if unexpected situations should arise." [Vanport]
"I-I see…" [Haverend]
Fina's father seemed a bit dejected, probably thinking that he just got told that he was too weak.
"...Boy, what is your name?" [Vanport]
"...Relton." [Relton]
"Would you consider surrendering?" [Vanport]
"I refuse." [Relton]
Vanport sighed at his reply.
"I thought so." [Vanport]
Lunging forward, Vanport struck Relton's spirit with his fist.
("What?! With his bare hands?!") [Solace]
Lacra|, Relton's spirit, seemed to struggle against the blow. She had barely managed to block the punch with her polearm, but her arms were already trembling from the force behind it.
"|Torch|." [Relton]
Swiping his hand across the air, a ball of fire immediately exploded in Vanport's face. A blinding flash and a trail of smoke covered Vanport, clouding my view.
("Huh? Did Relton just kill him?!") [Solace]
I don't know how it works in this world, but I was pretty sure that it would give more than just three degree burns.
"I apologize for my discourtesy." [Vanport]
A hand thrust out of the smoke, striking Relton's spirit in the abdomen.
"Agh!" [Lacra]
Lacra|'s voice echoed in my head, startling me as I saw her fall to the ground.
("What just- eh?!") [Solace]
Vanport came out of the smoke unscathed. It appeared that the explosion had done nothing to him.
("I guess that |Fire Resistance| wasn't just for show…") [Solace]
Strangely enough, |Lacra| wasn't getting up. It was then that Relton put his hands up in a defensive position.
"...You are a mage are you not?" [Vanport]
Relton nodded.
"Then why do you not surrender? Your spirit is incapable of moving, and you are too close to me to cast magic. How will you fight someone in close quarters, moreover, a knight?" [Vanport]
Relton shook his head.
"I see." [Vanport]
("I see… Nah, I don't. What exactly did he see?") [Solace]
Vanport leapt at Relton, expecting an easy win. Surprisingly for all of us, that wasn't the case. Relton side-stepped Vanport's fist and struck back fast as lightning. Though it didn't do much, Vanport was wide eyed in shock.
"This…!" [Vanport]
He quickly stepped back, re-evaluating the situation.
"I took you for a mage." [Vanport]
"It would be best for you to not judge a book by it's cover." [Relton]
("...Didn't expect that saying to be a thing over here.") [Solace]
Vanport rubbed his side with one hand, easing the dull pain.
"A young man adept in magic and close combat… This is most unexpected." [Vanport]
