I just got home from a long 12 hour day having to pretend that I've never met Kendal before, not to mention that he's killed well over 10,000 people over the past 15 years. Honestly, what made me more annoyed was that he made no attempt to confront me about the events that occurred the other night. I signed as I placed my belongings on my dining room table and walked into my bedroom and into my connecting bathroom. I need to just ignore everything and wash this day away.
After my shower, I dressed in a pair of short-shorts and a loose-fitting spaghetti strap crop-top, I quickly brushed my teeth and hair, and put lotion all over my body. I was braiding my hair as I walked out of my bedroom and into the kitchen to grab yet another bottle of water. I feel like I'm breathing, eating, and drinking sand directly from the Sahara Desert.
"That's not going to help you know."
I jumped upon hearing Ken's voice as I quickly opened one for my kitchen drawers. Grabbing one of my guns, whipping around to face him, pointing it at him, and glaring at him all in one swift and smooth movement. Yet, he remained completely unfazed.
"How the hell did you get in my house?"
Ken simply shrugged, his eyes never leaving me.
"Oh, I have my ways."
He went to take a step towards me but I quickly cocked the hammer of my gun back. The clicking of my gun resonated loud and clear.
"Don't move."
I warned. Ken paused in his tracks, the sound of his deep quiet laugh sent shivers down my spine.
"Don't you know by now that your human weapon can't harm me. So I'd recommend just putting it down if I were you."
If he wanted to kill me he would have done so already. I sighed as I carefully disarming it and turned the safety on before placing it on the kitchen counter. I crossed my arms across my chest as I shifted my weight impatiently onto one foot.
"Ok, fine. Now, what do you want?"
I said in an irritated tone.
"Wow, you must be brave to be so harsh and straightforward."
"Just get to the point,"
I said rolling my eyes.
"What did you mean when you said that water won't help?"
"That untamable dryness, thirst, and hunger can't be tamed by any human food, beverage, nor remedy. Only one thing will be able to satisfy you now."
"And that is?"
I asked, raising my eyebrow. Though, I'm not really sure I want to find out. He was about to respond when there was a sudden knock at my front door. Who could it be at this hour?
"Hello!? Addi!? It's me, Maddy! A package came addressed to you but was delivered to my house! You weren't home so I kept it till you were!"
I stiffened. Maddy, my next-door neighbor. Oh no, she has no idea the danger she is with Ken here. He could easily hurt her.
"I know you can hear it in her veins, her heart pumping, the smell coming from that fresh cut on her hand."
Ken said right into my ear. My heartfelt like it skipped a beat as my eyes widened, he was right. I could almost see her from the other side of the door, but not as skin and bone. I could see how her blood flowed through each vein and artery, how her heart pumped 80ml of blood each beat and where that blood went, how the blood pooled and clotted against the open cut, I could smell the once metallic smell now sweet of that injury. The pain in my throat and stomach immediately got a thousand times worse as I felt pain in my canines as they became long and sharp. I quickly covered my mouth with my hand, sweat beginning to drip down my forehead. No, I won't be a monster, not like him.
"Go ahead and leave it by the door Maddy!"
I forced out as I bit my lip, my sharpened canines puncturing my bottom lip causing some blood to roll down my lip.
"You sure?!"
"Yah! I just got out of a shower so I'll get it here in a few minutes!"
"Ok then, If you insist! Have a good night Addi!"
"You too Maddy!"
Once I heard her put the package down and her steps getting farther and farther away I whipped my head towards Ken. I was livid.
"What the fuck do you do to me!!?"
I yelled angrily, as I stepped further into the kitchen and away from him.
"What I had to."
He said calmly, my anger only increasing by the second.
"What you had to?! BULLSHIT!! What the fuck am I?! What did you do to me?!"
"You are a vampire and my mate, I turned you the other night."
God Fucking Damint! OF course! I sighed as I pinched the bridge of my nose, closing my eyes. I opened my eyes when I realized he said that I'm his "mate".
"Wait, what the hell do you mean that I'm 'your mate'?"
"In lamers terms, we are soul mates."
"Soulmates?"
"Correct. You are the only one fit to be my bride and my Queen. We were made specifically and only for each other, two halves of a soul destined to become one. You are mine just as much as I am yours."
I scoffed as I rolled my eyes.
"Great, I've become the main character of a gothic literature novel."
I said to myself as I massaged my temples looking at the floor. I looked back up at him.
"How can you even be sure that I'm your mate?"
"There are four ways a vampire can tell. As an original I instinctively know, but the other ways are; scent, touch, and pull."
"Scent, touch, and pull?"
"Precisely. You've already experienced the natural undeniable pull to be near and to be with me just as I have with you, as well as the sparks whenever we experience skin-to-skin contact."
He was right. I do feel that even how I want to be close to him… to touch me, but I'll be damned if I let him know that I even acknowledge that I feel this way. Kendal continued.
"Your mate has a very distinctive scent, everyone has their own, but only your mate can smell your true scent. Your new scene of smell isn't yet fully developed yet, but soon you'll be able to smell mine. Once you are able to, my scent will be intoxicating; just as your scent is to me."
I scoffed.
"I don't even know what you're talking about."
As soon as the words left my mouth I was suddenly pinned against the wall. Ken's large black eyes now glowed bright blood red.
"Oh really? Maybe I should show you then."
He said smirking as he pushed his body further against mine. My heart pounded against my chest as he put his head in the crook of my neck and began placing feather-light kisses from my collar bone, up my neck, along the underside of my jaw, and up to the corner of my lips. Each kiss felt like fire against my skin; sparks flooded my body. As my knees threatened to collapse from under me my Kendal picked me up, my legs immediately wrapped around his waist as my arms circled around his neck. In order to support me, his hands went to my butt which he took advantage of, and groped my butt fondly. As he continued his assault on my neck my lips became dry, I tried hard not to lick them till it became too much for me. As soon as I licked my lips, his was where I needed them most, as he plunged his tongue into my mouth I let out a moan. That's when I felt his "little" friend poking my stomach, and it was anything but little. In response, my nethers became hot and wet, a need that I've never felt before consumed me. Suddenly, Ken just stopped as he sat me down gently.
"You believe me now?"
I only nodded, as I slowly slid to the floor. I felt completely out of breath and like I was incomplete and unfinished. I was in a complete daze. Did that really just happen? Why do I feel like I want more? Is this really the mate thing that he was talking about?
Suddenly I felt very weak and drained. I tried to stand when I began to feel faint. I went to pass out when I was immediately caught by Ken's strong and warm arms.
"Shit, you need blood. You're growing weaker by the minute."
My eyes widened.
"No! I don't want to kill a person! I won't be a monster like you!"
"Don't worry, you don't have to drink from a living person, but you need to feed. The first 48 hours are critical for a newborn, if you don't feed by then, you could die."
Kendal said seriously as his eyes stared intensely into mine. I nodded as my head began to pound. Ken pulled out his phone and called someone, but I couldn't hear the conversation as my ears began to ring; my body feeling heavy. Faintly I heard my front door open. I turned my head to see a man with short shaggy light brown hair and thin light green eyes; he's muscular with long muscular arms, a stocky torso, muscular legs, fair ivory skin, and stood at 7'3. I softly closed my eyes as the dizziness worsened.
"I brought what you asked for your majesty."
Said the man.
"Thank you, Jay."
I then smelt a sweet, powerful, and alluring smell that made my hunger grow and my canines to elongate.
"Drink."
Ken said as I felt a straw at my lips. Without thinking I wrapped my lips around the straw and began to drink; the thick, sweet-tasting liquid filled my mouth. As I took large gulps the thick liquid coated my throat, easing the pain and dryness on its way down to my stomach. The more I drank the better I felt. When I finished whatever I was drinking my scenes finally returned to me as my head stopped throbbing and the ringing in my ears stopped. It was then that I realized what I just drank. My eyes snapped open as I struggled to get out of Ken's hold.
"What did you make me do?! Who's blood is that?!"
I yelled as I continued to struggle, but Ken never once let up on his hold.
"What I had too. You would've died otherwise. And there's no need to panic, that blood was donated by one of our living blood bags."
Living blood bags? I stopped struggling as I looked at him confused.
"Wait, did you say 'donated by a living blood bag'?"
"Yes, I did. A living blood bag is a human who knows of our existence and has offered themselves as a living blood bag or also called an LBB."
"Why would anyone want to do that?"
"There are many different reasons, one is that they wanted to live in the vampire world but either didn't want to be changed or they owe a debt. However, the most popular reason is that whenever a vampire drinks from someone they may feel like they're on ecstasy and become addicted to the sensation."
"So, basically they're all masochists."
"Exactly."
I nodded. That'll take some time to get used to. Remembering that we were no longer alone I turned to the other man who I could scene wasn't human, but a vampire.
"Who's that?"
I asked, still in Ken's warm and comfortable arms. The man gave me a warm smile.
"I'm Duke Javier Acker, it's a pleasure to finally meet His Majesty's, long-awaited mate."
I looked to Ken confused.
"Did he just call you 'His Majesty', and did he say 'Duke'?"
Ken nodded.
"Jay's official title is Duke and he called my Majesty because I am the King of Vampires."
I stiffened as my eyes widened.
"So, if you're the King, and I'm your mate, does that mean that I'm supposed to be the Queen of Vampires?"
I asked cautiously.
"You are correct, but you won't be coronated right away."
I immediately began to panic.
"But I don't know the first thing about being Queen! Much less the Queen of Vampires!"
"Relax, you'll learn. I know that with time you'll grow into a great Queen."
He said as he placed a reassuring and calming kiss behind my ear and on my temple, instantly calming me down. My face then turned red remembering that we're not alone.
"Um, Kendal?"
"Yes, Princess?"
He asked as he placed kisses to the back of my neck and to the side.
"Javier is still here."
I said shyly as he continued his newest assault on my neck and working his way up my jaw.
"Oh don't mind me. Watching Mr. Big-Bad-Vampire having a soft spot is very entertaining."
This caused Ken to let out a vampiric hiss. Javier put his hands up chuckling.
"Fine, I'm leaving, I'm leaving."
He said as he turned around to leave, but before he left he turned back to me.
"By-the-way, call me Jay."
Jay then left. As soon he left I felt extreme exhaustion wash over me from today's events.
"Sleep."
Ken said into my ear. My eyes closed and I was out within a couple of seconds.
