"How did you know?" The site inspector questioned Ian before Lance or Zac could continue. Upon gazing at the inspector's face anyone could clearly see the apprehension he had against this being found out by a seemingly innocent boy, his thoughts running at a million miles per hour making up stories and whatnot.
Seeing the thoughts of the person written in his face Ian couldn't help but laugh. It had been a long time since he had seen an adult so innocent. Upon hearing Ian's laughter Zac and Lance simultaneously looked over at him, while Zac sported a comical and over exaggerated expression of how surprised he was, Lance had his lips curved up in a hardly noticeable arc but the slight lift up was enough for Ian to fix his gaze upon him. Clicking his tongue mentally Ian turned away from Lance with reddened ears thinking, damn humans are such visual animals.
Ian faked a cough and turned a calm gaze towards the inspector and chose to ignore his questions. While seeing Ian return to his working mode Lance said, "Red mud? Hmm. Zac check if there are any areas which have red mud."
Ian turned towards Lance took out a map from his backpack, "In the entire A city, there is no area that has red mud, the only area nearby with red mud would be about 50 km away from here, but there is no way to travel back and forth in a day carrying this sack without being noticed, there are no drag marks here on the road but the thing is that since the guy seems petite it will take a lot of time for us to narrow down such a suspect. I recently marked all the various locations that the crime was committed in. Guess what I found?"
"Did you find a possible location that could be accessible by all those spots?" Zac exclaimed, his eyes shining with praise.
Ian smirks and says, "No. That's the thing there is no such possible location, in fact when i tried doing this it made the whole theory a mess. What I was talking about that usually such cases have an organized spot where the crime takes place and these varied location where the bodies are left. The criminal we are after is working on a whole new scale and things are completely going according to what he has been expecting. However, there is a pattern."
"A pattern?", The site inspector questioned. It was only then did Ian realize that even he was present and glanced at Lance wordlessly communicating his message to which Lance nodded.
"Yes, all these bodies are disposed along the various housing locations. There are various such colonies built in big cities and these bodies are dumped exactly near them. I have a reason to suspect the killer's grudge might be against rich. I'll tell you so far what I have inferred about the murderer, you've stated his physical qualities I'll talk about his psychological ones. So far he seems to have a grudge against rich as I stated, and even though his tricks state that he is confident in not getting caught as I've already shown there are people ready to be his scapegoat, I suspect he manipulates those who have a grudge against those he murdered. I think we should start narrowing our suspects by following the past activities of those killers who were caught and find a common link between them, I'm busy so I hope you can get this done Lance."
Lance nods hearing this, "I'll investigate the news and if you need anything else then tell me."
"If possible leave me alone for a week after you get the information." Ian nods solemnly.
"Even though I don't know why, okay I shall." Lance agrees without hesitation.
The next morning Ian and Nathan arrive at school almost at the same time. When Nathan saw Ian his eyes seem to carry a sense of relief, he strolled over to Ian and asked, "So how was it?"
"Don't worry. It was all okay, though its regretful that there has been no progress at school."
Nathan clicks his tongue, "Just how many days do you think its been since you arrived at this school huh?"
Ian sighs and says, "I just want to get this done and over with. It's frustrating being around kids."
Nathan chuckles and shakes his head surprised at how even Ian could be frustrated.
"Come on let's get to class, we'll talk about this after school."
But even with the combined sense of both Ian and Nathan they failed to notice the intense gaze directed at them from the window on the second floor of the school building, if they actually turned they could have met eyes with an unexpected person.
