Chapter 23 - Angel?

A flock of birds leaped out from the trees and began flapping. Each one of them screeching into the air, Seraph's head slightly tilts to look at the commotion. His eyes slowly opened, until the visual shocked him.

The Birds were flapping around in the air, each of them was a different vibrant color. They almost looked like rainbows, however , they all had a distinct aura of elegance that brimmed within them. Their feathers were long and distinct, they all looked like different birds of prey but none of the birds ever looked exactly alike. They all had either slight differences to one another or looked to be a completely different species from the other.

Seraph stopped floating on the water and began to stare up into the sky, the birds were going around in circles creating an orb of birds savagely floating in the air. Seraph squinted his eyes, he could see a few birds land on the ground every few seconds however the more he squinted his eyes he began to realize that the few birds dropped out of the air every second with wounds covering their body.

Seraph immediately looked toward the pond, he looked toward the birds. Grabbing his spear and making sure his knife was properly sheathed to his waist, he ran toward the shore.

He hid behind a tree, and then looked to the sky. He could hear the constant squawking of the birds, he didn't dare run away, he couldn't run away from the birds of prey. If he tried, he imagined himself getting surrounded by the swarm in mere seconds.

He instead opted to hide within the bushes, once more. He had placed his spear within the bush and was hurriedly covering himself with the dead leaves of the forest before hurriedly throwing himself into a bush. He had only hoped that the birds weren't here for him and didn't have a keen sense of smell.

The birds swirled in the air. Their beautiful wings beat against the sky, making rainbow colored shadows streak across the ground, the birds grew in number and the squawking grew unbearable. So did the rainbow colored shadows that gradually began to descend into the darkness of their shadows, consumed by the increasing numbers of birds.

The beating of wings began to mimic sounds of the crashing of steel and the large sounds of hammer striking against an anvil. 'Their wings aren't beating against the sky! It looks like they want to fight the sky!' Seraph couldn't help but to exclaim inside his head, looking at the defiant and spreading elegance of the birds he could only place his head down in fear.

The Body of Birds unlucky in the elegant brawl, fell outside the outskirts of the pond one at a time. The fall killed each one of them upon impact. Until, one of the birds fell into the pond. It's impact was accompanied with a splash of water then unbearable screeching that reached to the atmosphere.

As if the screeching from earlier was all acting, the birds in the sky suddenly stopped their vicious duel to look at the water consuming their companion.

The bird's expressions grew dark, at least that's what seraph thought as he watched the birds just stare at their 'companion' screeching within the pond of water. They all decided to look at each other, as if talking to each other an eagle that looked similar to the bald eagle however, it's colors was a deep red and its white head was replaced with a dark gray that served to glorify its powerful blazing red eyes.

It began to squawk to the other birds, who only responded with a bird nod. The scene looked surreal to Seraph who could never imagine birds showing such a degree of intelligence, 'Does that mean that they can properly communicate with each other? Wait… What the hell were they saying before then?'

Seraph couldn't help but to imagine that each squawk he had heard before from the earlier chaotic situation carried meaning or they were actually just screaming at each other indistinctly, however he couldn't imagine such a bird species actually just screaming at each other for no reason at that.

This type of interaction even made it hard for him to even imagine the scene earlier. If they were that intelligent why would they even need to fight senselessly?

Suddenly two of the largest birds landed on the ground, Seraph barely recognized the species but after squinting his eyes a bit he realized that he learned about them a bit. The birds to him looked like abnormally large condors, their whole entire body was black except for their blue eyes that began to shine with a certain excellence when they stared at the pond for too long.

The two large birds began walking on the ground, stretching their wingspan. Their wings were beautiful and had little streaks of red on the inside of them, paired with the fact that these wings were bigger than an adult male and the talons of the bird were easily tossing away the dirt beneath its feet as it walked. The bird looked very intimidating.

The birds then waited, Seraph was watching the events with eager anticipation. He was fascinated with the bird's intelligence but that didn't mean he wasn't scared at all, in fact in the back of his head he was terrified what this all meant. If these birds were the ones that originally attacked the camp, he doubted that they would've won.

After a half hour of waiting, Seraph had to stay still for an entire half an hour…

He saw a figure flying toward them, 'Why is that bird so big? Wait why does it look human?' The figure was too far away in the sky for seraph to get an accurate look at them but as they got closer and closer he could slowly make out the figures features.

They were a handsome man, he looked very young and had a normal build. He wouldn't call them fat but he wouldn't call them skinny either, his belly was exposed as he wore a robe that wrapped around his shoulder and then covered his legs. Along with his exposed belly was his exposed upper back, which carried with it two beautiful white wings that matched the color of his hair which also looked feathery.

Seraph's eyes widened in shock and he was tempted to run out to meet the person, 'It's an angel!'

However, the next second the system made a large beep echo in his head. Making him stop his movement.

[ Angel? Fuck your angel! That's a sham!]

Seraph paused, he read the message in front of his eyes twice 'Do you really not have any emotions?'

[Host should focus on the situation at hand. ]

Seraph watched the fake angel, glide down over the water. They held a certain elegance and gentleness to them which made seraph doubt the system, however the system didn't relent and continued to type how much of a sham the angel in front of him was.

The Angel swept his gaze across the birds then looked back at the pond, "This is… an angelic potion."

The angel's voice was elegant as his figure and it continued "There shouldn't be an angel within this domain…" The angel looked stressed out.

"Destroy it. This type of power shouldn't be here in this world, if the forked ears and the players found this item… They would grow exponentially powerful." The angel looked at it and frowned, he reached his finger to touch the item, dipping it into the holy water before placing it back into his mouth.

'System explain what he means.' The angel was currently gathering a few of the red birds together.

[ Holy Alchemized Items were given to some of god's children and some angels to make them unbelievably powerful. This is the extension of god's will and god's will can only be taken away by god or high up holy creatures.]

[ Holy Water is unbelievably pure, when mixed with dark animals and other dark substances holy water will dissolve the substance until it's in its purest form and then retain it. In the dark wolves' case that was their stamina, Unfortunately this holy water Host produced, was only pure enough to dissolve and retain the form of one dark wolf. If a Master Alchemist were to get their hand on this holy water they could potentially find a way to create a potion to increase peoples strength permanently.]

'Mhm… so you're telling me at a high enough level i can make holy water soup mix it with some dark animals and gain more stat points?'

[Yes.]

'OP!' Seraph was shocked, if he made another pool of holy water and shove a dark wolf inside he could get another stat point.

[ Host must be reminded, If you use the same ingredients over and over again or mix. The effectiveness of the potion on host would begin to build resistance within the host requiring a stronger solution which would require the use of more animals and more holy water. ]

'Oh…But still that's still free stat points to my base stats.' Seraph was slightly disappointed but he still could imagine his base stats being able to rival a level 10 while he was a simple level 1.

While Seraph was daydreaming, the angel was getting work done. His hands had patted the heads of each of the red birds and had them form a circle around the pond, He then pulled out a scroll from within his robes and dropped it into the holy pond.

The pond began to rapidly dissolve the scroll as the red birds the angel had gathered began to puff up their chests and reel their head back, The Angel then said "Go!"

The birds at the same time launched, powerful torrents of fire into the pond. Seraph was only in the bushes meters away but he could feel the heat all the way from there. The Flames coiled around each other making a flame tornado in the sky which pounded against the pond…
