Shi-won, Xu Xun, Astrid, Zhu, and John eventually carried the battle and won. The wolves were sent back with one final push from a shield warrior into the woods where they came from. Shi-Won immediately began organizing everyone after the battle, where he also began dropping the news that the principal who was in his team separated and brought the wolves toward the camp on accident and died because of it.
Seraph was originally angered like his fellow classmates but he immediately calmed down because of the system. He then thought clearly and calmly, The more he thought on the matter the more it didn't make sense to him.
'The principal separated from the group? Why would the principal ever separate from the group?' As seraph thought this the entire group's opinion was swayed drastically.
"Fuck that bastard!"
"How dare he!"
"He deserved death!"
Many students were shouting out their rage against the principal, They needed someone to blame for the deaths for today and instead of blaming it on the intelligent wolves they blamed it on the dead principal. Seraph couldn't realize what he was seeing.
'Is this what they call mob mentality?' He immediately began quietly backing away from the mob, they were in the hundreds and the sight of them made him scared. He was scared if he voiced his doubts they might spit on him to death.
After the event, 'Daily Life' on what they called 'New Game' began. Only a week had passed and many discoveries in the systems were made. During the battle people found out how to use their skills to fight and after the fight they also found out about the party system. It was a good way of monitoring your groups status and gaining shared experience during fights and also the synergy of the group visibly improved when groups used them.
The Craftsman/Survivalist of the group had constructed camps and tents using the wildlife and the dead wolves, they also created minor defensive structures. The wolves never went away, they were commonly seen lurking around in the woods during any part of the day..
During this time, Seraph found that Mr. Zhu's help was desperately needed. Seraph couldn't find a group for him to join on hunts and while people grew he was left back at the base which made many people look down at him. His bullying grew worse, however Mr. Zhu accompanied by John the janitor quite literally beat down the bullies.
Seraph was begging Mr. Zhu constantly to let him join the hunts, but he strictly prohibited it. He didn't see any benefit of having Seraph risk his life during the hunts. Mr. Zhu constantly repeated "The hunts are unpredictable, The wolves are smart… very smart."
Seraph agreed with Mr. Zhu but… the only way for him to level up was by fighting the wolves which was why he suggested that Mr. Zhu could party him and leave him back at camp to level up without doing anything. Mr. Zhu liked the idea however, his party didn't like the idea at all.
The experience was split sharply, The wolves could only give 2 through 4 experience points and in a group of five people that was barely enough to go around. The wolves were dangerous and a full group of regular students could only take on one wolf pack by themselves. However, even then killing a wolf was not even guaranteed as the wolves were smart… they ran when they were injured and had injured wolves go back deep into their formations to heal or apply pressure whenever they needed to.
There were some cases of the wolves showing extreme intelligence, an injured lonely wolf ran away from a party. The party pursued the wolf only to end up getting circled by two groups of wolves. Unfortunately, only two people out of the eight manned group came back alive.
Deaths like these were uncommon though, Injuries such as scratches and bite marks could be healed by any mage. However, for the severe injuries they would have to go to Astrid who was glad to help. Astrid and Xu Xun were best friends, Which made the camp situation delicate to say the least.
Astrid was a Mage Hero and Xu Xun was a Warrior Cleric both of them were special classes, Shi-Won was the Sword Hero, who became the de facto leader of the settlement and his buddy alex was the Archer Hero however, many people still followed Astrid and Xu Xun while others would follow Mr. Zhu an above average Warrior or Janitor John another above average warrior.
Whenever two of the groups disagreed on something it became incredibly awkward, However, the fighting between Mr. Zhu and Shi-Won were the worst. The two were almost always at each other's throats mostly because of Seraph, Shi-Won friends were always attempting to bully him and other people in Mr. Zhu's group.
Astrid and Xu Xun usually didn't interfere with these disputes, Mostly because Xu Xun despised the weak while astrid wanted to help them. They stayed neutral and didn't interfere because the two were always arguing on which side to help. However, there was one thing they agreed on. If a fight broke out they would break it up.
Shi-Won always played his part, he scolded his group members whenever they did bully seraph. Which made him look like a hero, however his way with words was truly amazing. He was excellent with manipulating and he manipulated his group perfectly, people he scolded weren't mad at Shi-Won in the end they were always mad at Mr. Zhu. Which encouraged them to bully seraph more.
Seraph was depressed because of this, whenever Mr. Zhu's party left, he had to seek out the Janitor for help. Whenever they both were gone, he was bullied severely. They slammed their fists into him and beat him with a staff, what was worse was that they could heal him over and over again to ensure that no one knew.
Seraph could tell on them of course, but he had no wounds or bruises to prove that he was ever in a scuffle with them to begin with.
The only plus side was, that the pain he felt was negligible to say the least. His high endurance stats paired with his special passive made it hard for their fists to do real ever lasting damage to him…
'I really need to enter a group… ' Seraph gave up on asking Mr. Zhu help and began seeking out the Janitor for help. John was very good at fighting, some people in the camp even claimed that John is the best fighter in the camp. John is also the only person in the camp that can go solo hunting without any help.
During the week, Seraph and John were with each other a lot. John was religious and seraph agreed with some sentiments so they grew an even tighter bond together.
"John! Can I-"
"Sure." Before seraph could even finish his sentence, John had already agreed.
"What? You didn't ev-"
"You wanna come and hunt with me. You've been asking Mr. Zhu about it for a week, I was just waiting for you to come to me." He smiled gently and began putting on his gear. His gear was rather polished and smooth, the blacksmith sub classes were good at their job.
"So when are we going?" Seraph asked excitedly.
"Now." John then swiped his hand across the air and a message notification appeared in front of seraph.
[ Do you accept party invitation from 'John Drukvaumm' ]
[ Party Invitation Accepted]
The screen then split and went to the corner of his eyes where small status was displayed.
[ John Drukvauum ]
[ Novice Spearman ]
[ Healthy ]
He looked at the small status displayed curiously. John smiled and patted his shoulders.
"That's normal, let's move out. I wanna show you some tricks." John pulled out a small knife and gave it to Seraph.
"Since you're not staying in the camp, you're learning."
