Chapter 19 - Interim (The cheat code for game one)

I woke up on the bed. Once again, a quite familiar sight. I didn't leave, however. I grabbed the coin bag, and walked out into The Hall. I went up to the Gustavo brothers and handed it to them "Hi! Uh, I found this, and I think you should have it. All I want in return is for you to stop any coin thieves if possible. You can take what they got if you want, you'd just be better off giving it back, but it's ultimately up to you."

They stared at each other and nodded their heads "Alright.." Soon, they went and had dealt with the coin theft problem. I got myself re-acquainted with Nick, Ashley, and Jonny. It was smooth sailing, so far. The first game was coming up, however, I had no weapon. We were in quadrant 3, so I plan to do something with that information. I bit off a piece of my finger, moving my bed back away from the wall and wrote part of the speech there. I opened up the bonus feature menu and watched the screen.

My plan didn't fail and eventually, I saw one of the "(New Feature in development!)" turn into..

/-----------\

Incite Lv.1

-"Listen to me, I gotta lot to say!"

By using this skill (through mental will to activate it,) you can have a much better time in rallying up those around you. The method on how this works cannot be given at the user's Volume (Requires Volume 30)

(Skill is unclaimed)

\-----------/

Ah, this is… Why are they hiding more from me? Volume 30? That's messed up. It took 2 takes to even GET to level 5. It's gonna take 12 more to get to that level…

Which reminds me. I tapped on the formerly hidden skills, to learn more about those as well.

/-----------\

Human Memory Lv. 10 (Max)

-"I will remember everything!"

This feature allows perfectly re-callable memory (given the user is not distracted.)

Hearing Lv. 5

- "I heard you talking.."

This feature allows the user to hear much better than the average human. It can also allow them to hear specific things from a certain target.

Will of a Director Lv. 1

- "Lights, camera, ACTION!!"

So long as the user wishes, upon death they will return to a previous moment in time, at the beginning of specific scenes, until they think it has been perfected. Their body improves every time.

(Information blocked until Volume 30)

\-----------/

These are… Odd? Maybe not useless, but certainly they do explain some things. Didn't know that my great memory and hearing all count as Features, but it makes sense they do now. Thinking back, that connected conscious thing must certainly be useful, right? I didn't know whether it was active, or passive, or really what it entailed.

I stood up, the first game was happening in the next 10 minutes, and in order to succeed… We needed a plan.

I left my cell once more, having moved my bed back to it's spot. The pots and pans from earlier actually came from a vending machine, so I couldn't get them myself. However, people had gotten enough of that food type, so I was able to quickly gather them, and get on a table.

"ATTENTION PEOPLE OF THE HALL"

I banged them together, in case people were still not looking.

"I understand you all are scared, and want to make due. However, this ship is full of games, most of which will prove to be deadly. I know this first one is not going to end well should we not cooperate. My name is Jack Caster, and I need you all to listen; When the game starts, you all need to follow me, I will do my best to save everyone who cares. This will not be easy, however, I know we can all do it if we try. You must be wondering how I am so confident in my plan… Well, I have a message written in blood under my bed. It gives a plan to beat the first game. Left by a person from before us… We need to use that plan to win this game with NO casualties!"

The crowd was rough, however, Nick hopped up, "We should listen to him! Listen, even if it's a lie, we know he's human! He is part of this group, so we can trust him! Surely, he would not be able to intentionally lead us to our death, right?"

AH, well, you see.. Nick, listen, game 3? Yeah. That one is horrible. I would not be saying that now if I was you.

Anyway, he helped ease the crowd a little bit, and soon, everyone was much more ready to challenge the first game. Confident at least that I wouldn't want to kill them. My conquest of this ship is just beginning. And it starts with one simple step.

Beating the first game using a cheat tactic.
