"Password?" a voice said, a Brooklyn guy by the sounds of it. In response, she heard a deep, almost guttural growl sound out. "Oh, Boss! I didn't see you there. Hope you and your lady companion enjoy your night," he said, opening the door. She felt a small push on her back and stepped forward. Suddenly, he popped out from behind her. She didn't realize it at first when he helped her out of the car but she saw he had messed up his normally slicked back hair, the pomade making it fall down in spikes. His eyes looked icy cold, almost like this environment changed who he was. So sexy… Gulping, she followed behind as he led her down a few flights of stairs. She ran into his chest when he suddenly stopped and turned.
"Like I said in the car, no speaking to anyone. Stay by my side. And don't, for the love of all things that live and die under the sun, don't drink anything, especially if a fox-like man that looks like me gives it to you. Better yet, splash it into his face and find a lighter. You would do everyone a favor," he said, his voice sounding low but firm. Emilia couldn't do anything but nod. Then she signed out in sign language "What was it about earlier when you asked me if I was a stripper?" "I asked because I want to show you off-"
"But I am not yours to show off, you possessive egotistical sociopath!" She went to sign more when he grabbed her hands and trapped them onto the wall.
Taking off his mask, he bit her on her bare neck. A muffled scream-like moan sounded as Emilia could feel her knees weaken. "Call me something like that again," he whispered in her ear, his voice a little husky. "I won't control myself. I have the tendency to hurt those you disrespect me. For women, I am pretty confident you know what it is that I do." He laughed as he saw her eyes widen as she nodded. "Try not to show out too much," he said, turning and pushing open the door.
…
The hazy scent of cigars, expensive liquor, and cheap perfume worn by the hookers filled David's nose as he walked through the blackjack and poker tables, making his way to a room in the back. Emilia's small hands gripped his sleeve firmly, letting her know she was surprised and scared at the same time. A man sat in front of the room in a fold-out chair. Before David opened his mouth, the man spoke.
"Good evening, boss. Who is your lady companion with you today?" he said, picking up the chart that was sitting on his lap and a pen.
"Just put Emma Rabbit," he joked, knowing the man would get the joke. They shared a laugh as he wrote that name and opened the door.
"Entering: Mr. Miranda and his lady companion, Emma Rabbit," the man said into the room. David saw that Emilia started trembling and didn't know why so he placed a hand around her waist. The trembling stopped as soon as they stepped through the door.
