Chereads / The Wolf-Man / Chapter 10 - Chapter Ten

Chapter 10 - Chapter Ten

A sandy, white-haired man walked into the centre of the two bodyguards, clicking his tongue. "David," he said, the one word, his name, chilling the people surrounding them to the core.

"Yes, brother?" he replied, smirking from what he knew what his brother was going to say.

"You never introduced me to her. You know that if that goes that way that I am going to want her," he said, handing his coat to one of the guards and cracking his knuckles. "The only reason I kept my wife away from any other guy was because she was too good to let any other man see. The way that I see it, you didn't want me to look at her."

"I don't," David said, handing Emilia's still sleeping body to one of the bodyguards. "Drive her home. I might not be back until later, so it would be best she gets out of this cold," he growled, also taking off his suit jacket. He then decided that it would be best to roll up the sleeves of his suit shirt.

Flexing his taunt, well-managed muscles, he started to circle his brother in a beast-like manner, who then, in turn, did the same.

A noise that caused Emilia to wake up rang out. It was almost like two dogs were about to fight over their territory. Snarls and growls could be heard as the two began to stalk each other.

"Dave!" David's eldest sister-in-law said to his brother as she walked bravely to the edge of the circle surrounding the two. "I understand you're drunk, but get yourself together!"

"Why bother?" Dave said as he pounced toward his brother. David was quick on his feet as he somehow managed to dodge a blow from his brother's fist that would have nearly crushed his jaw. The two began to fight like feral animals, scratching, kicking, and biting like angered beasts.

As David had Dave in a chokehold, a little voice spoke in his head.

Immediately, David let go and backed away. Something told him 'Don't you do it. You will regret it.'

Smiling, Dave turned to him and, leaning back on his arms, asked, "Why did you stop? It was just about to become fun!"

That feeling of excitement David felt all of those years ago slowly crept up his spine, increasing his adrenaline level and making him laugh a dry, deadly laugh.

"Because I want to be able to see my little dumplin' tomorrow. Normally, I would have killed you and ripped you apart in front of your wife. And then fucked her brains out. That's what I normally do when I don't get my money from loanees. But I have a little treat waiting for me. So I won't. Consider yourself lucky," he said as he got his jacket and walked to his car. "Mark my words, you old rat! I will kill you if I find out you even thought to touch her to get back at me!" (And I oop-)

Starting his car, he drove all of the way back home.
