Chapter 7 - (Chapter 7) Bliss

"Look, the boss is here again. Do you think the golden days of our company are over?" A company worker at Hanxi whispered to her colleague.

Her colleague shook her head. "No way, look at boss' smile. Maybe the company hit a massive deal recently? We are receiving bonuses close to daily now."

Mr. Tuhs strolled through his company with a beaming smile on his face. This started to happen a couple of months ago, where he apparently left a meeting early. The next day... The boss was walking around smiling everywhere!

This was unusual, the boss was known to be extremely strict and demanding to all of his staff. Even management did not dare slack off. In case of being fired for the smallest of mistakes.

Mr. Tuhs was a good boss. He didn't mind mistakes, only laziness. He built the company from the ground up with his blood, sweat and tears. He worked every day without fail. So everyone beneath him was expected to put in their fair share of work.

"The recent cooperation with these companies succeded, overall we can expect a return of 50 million without investment." Stephan reported as he looked down on the piece of paper.

Mr. Tuhs nodded. "Good. Make sure to keep investment going, our market is competitive. We can't become complacent." Mr. Tuhs walked into his office with a spring in his step.

Stephan was also affected by his boss's change of mood. He knew that the Young Miss was now much more healthy than before, it led to his boss becoming slightly less demanding. Even willing to take breaks when he was tired.

Mr. Tuhs was a family man, but he was also a workaholic. He believed that work and personal life should be separate, especially when he is at home with his wife and daughter. Henceforth, he worked extremely hard to get time free at home. Even going as far as to plan for events that would happen months in advance, just in case his daughter wanted him to be home more...

.......

'Hmm, this is inadequate.' Astrid thought as she looked from a distance at a package that arrived earlier.

Mrs. Tuhs ordered a new painting, she wished for the house to have a slight change. So putting up some decorations on the walls was needed.

But, Astrid was not impressed with the painting she was looking at. 'Were people born with no artistic sense in this world? Look at the flowers, the shade is incorrect. The trees are not centered correctly. The sun seems slightly blocky.'

Astrid wasn't an art lover, nor was she qualified to look at art without saying. 'That looks nice' Without understanding anything. But being a closet perfectionist, this was just wrong.

"Does my baby like it? I was thinking of putting it in your room." Mrs. Tuhs inquired, watching her daughter's reaction.

Astrid inwardly felt disgusted. How could she even sleep in the same room with such inadequate art? "No, it's ugly." She disdainfully commented. Before deciding to go outside to look at the real flowers.

The delivery man was stunned. 'Ugly? Is she blind!? This is the most expensive piece that master...'

"Alright then. Keep the money for delivery. You can throw it away now." The delivery man's thoughts were cut short.

Mrs. Tuhs spent no time in discarding a painting that she bought. Since her daughter reacted so strongly, then it wasn't good enough...

"P-Pardon?" The delivery man was stunned, the woman's expression went from one of glee. To downright disgust...

"Do what you want with it, keep your money. My daughter doesn't like it, so it won't be put in our house." Mrs. Tuhs was stern in her words. In other words. 'You like it? Take it. I will deal with other problems, we won't take it since my daughter doesn't find it adequate.'

The delivery man was then made a millionaire in a day. He held a painting worth close to 4 million, and he also didn't need to deal with any problems alongside it...

"Yes madam." The delivery man couldn't drive away faster, he was madly calculating what auction house he should go to later...

After Mrs. Tuhs made a quick call, she went out to the garden to see how her baby was doing.

Upon seeing her baby sitting on the bench looking at flowers, she could only have her heart melt. Seeing her white dress with lilac flowers on. She truly looked like a goddess.

Truthfully, Mrs. Tuhs was an extremely attractive woman. While Mr. Tuhs had some extremely defining features. Astrid was a combination of both. Despite not having her mother's assets. She did take her face and her father's eyes.

But for now. She was still thin and sickly. While this landscape looked like a goddess sitting down in a field of flowers. If one focused, Astrid was pretty. But could only suit certain clothing, otherwise she didn't look right...

"Mother. Is something wrong?" Astrid asked, seeing her mother look at her with such eyes... Did she do something wrong with that painting?

Mrs. Tuhs shook her head. "No, no. I was just thinking how pretty my baby was. Do you find the flowers pretty?" She sat down next to her daughter. As she took her hand and caressed her.

Astrid looked at the flowers. "Mm." It was nice to look at flowers, better than what her previous world looked like.

Mrs. Tuhs smiled. 'Maybe I should make more gardens. Yes, maybe an entire field so my baby can lay in it... Heh.' Mrs. Tuhs gained her next objective for the day. Making an entire field full of exotic flowers for her daughter...

The summer wind was cooling to Astrid. She often felt her body was quite cold, but today she felt slightly warmer. Was it the clothes she wore?

Astrid slowly drifted off to sleep. She had been dutifully walking around the house to improve her feeble stamina. It wouldn't do if she couldn't go to school since she fell asleep going to classes.

Mrs. Tuhs gently put Astrid's head on to her lap. She laid back and closed her eyes. A single tear falling onto her satisfied smile.
