-Great Hall-

After walking a little further, Lily, Daphne and I arrived in front of the Great Hall, and immediately we could see that next to the great doors of the hall, standing while looking around, was Astoria, who seemed to be waiting for her sister.

"Tori," Daphne called, walking over to her sister who turned around as soon as she heard the older Greengrass' voice, "Sorry for the delay, we were discussing something and lost track of time."

"We?" Tori asked confused, before looking behind her sister finally noticing my and Lily's presence.

"Hi Tori," I greeted the younger girl with a wave of my hand.

And Astoria seemed quite happy to see me, as I could see her eyes light up as she looked at me.

"Ethan!" she exclaimed excitedly, quickly walking past her sister and over to me.

"Huh?" Daphne looked at Tori in outrage and betrayal, 'Why didn't you show all this happiness when you saw me!?'

"What are you doing here Ethan?" Tori, who was standing in front of me, asked me, taking me out of my thoughts, "And why are you and my sister walking together?"

"Oh, it's just that the three of us had Ancient Runes class, and after class was over we decided to come to the Great Hall together," I replied, "And as for what I'm doing here… Well… I'm here to eat."

"Uh... Oh, yeah," Tori laughed awkwardly, realizing she had asked a stupid question, "I was so excited to see you that I forgot it was lunch time now."

"I noticed," I said amusedly, "But well, why don't we just go inside? I'm sure everyone here is starving… And besides, I want to see what it's like to eat with the other Slytherins"

"Wait, you're going to have lunch at the Slytherin table with us?" Tori asked me in surprise.

"Uh-huh," I nodded, smiling at her.

And hearing my confirmation, Tori's eyes lit up.

"In that case, let's go!" she said, before grabbing my arm and starting to drag me into the Great Hall.

"Hey, wait for me!" Lily said, before running to stand beside me.

And Daphne who stood alone in front of the doors of the Great Hall frowned, 'Huh... Why am I feeling a sense of Deja vu?' she wondered.

The heiress of the Greengrass house then shook her head, deciding to put that feeling aside before starting to follow us.

And after that, the four of us entered the Great Hall, seeing that the place was already full of students from the four houses and the three schools.

We then started heading towards the last table on the left side of the Great Hall, which was the Slytherin table.

And as soon as I passed the Ravenclaw table which was next to the snakes table, Terry, who saw me coming, waved his hand at me.

"Hey Ethan" he called out to me, but I just nodded to him and my other friends and kept walking.

"Huh? Where's Ethan going?" Anthony asked, looking at me in confusion as I walked away.

"I... I think he's going to have lunch at the Slytherin table," Terry replied with a strange look as he lowered his hand.

"Ethan is going to have lunch at the Slytherin table?" Sue repeated in surprise, before turning to look at me who was already at the green and silver house table looking for a seat to sit, "Oh, I have to see that!" she said strangely excited.

However, no one commented on her excitement, as everyone was also interested in seeing what would happen next. And so all my Ravenclaw friends stopped talking and eating to look at the Slytherin table.

"Hmm, this is my first time at this table," I commented after sitting down, ignoring the surprised and frowning looks from the Slytherins around me.

"Really?" Tori asked me, tilting her head, "I always see you sitting at the other houses' tables, so I thought you had sat at the Slytherin table before."

"Well, I never had a reason to sit at the Slytherin table, since Lily was my only friend from this house, and she preferred to sit at the other tables," I said, with Lily nodding to confirm my words.

And I hid the fact that Theo was also my friend because there were a lot of Slytherins around us, and I knew that things would get complicated for him if his family, or rather, if his father found out that he was friends with a Muggleborn.

"But well, that changed after I met and befriended a sweet and cheerful girl named Astoria," I continued, smiling at the little blonde girl, who also smiled at me happily and shyly.

"Oh, and then there's Daphne, who finally decided to put aside her jealously of me and became my friend."

"I wasn't jealous of you," Daphne protested as she frowned at me.

"Daphne, you don't have to lie… That's in the past, and I've already forgiven you," I said, looking at her magnanimously.

"Have you forgiven me?" she repeated indignantly, no longer able to maintain her ice queen mask.

And Tori and Lily who were looking at Daphne's indignant and revolted expression brought their hands to their mouths to try to stifle their laughter.

"Hey, why are you laughing?" Daphne turned to the two girls, "He's lying, I wasn't jealous of him" she defended herself.

And realizing that she was still thinking about it the girls laughed even harder, and even I joined in their laughter, which made Daphne snort in irritation.

However, this fun and friendly atmosphere between us didn't last long, as someone appeared to interrupt us.

"What's Night doing here?" a sixth-year Slytherin boy who had just arrived asked.

And that caused the girls and I to turn to him, only to see that he was looking at me with contempt and hostility.

And his voice was not low, and so many Slytherins and even some Ravenclaws could hear him, which made the attention of these students turn to us.

And when I heard this boy's question I stopped, blinking for a moment.

I then looked at this sixth year, before looking at my plate, then at him again, at my plate one last time, and then back at him, "Huh... Eating?" I looked at him like he was stupid.

"Urgh, I know you're eating idiot," he glared at me with a vein popping on his forehead, "What I want to know is what are you doing at the Slytherin table?"

"Well, I'm here to have lunch and spend some time with my friends," I replied with a shrug, gesturing to Daphne, Lily, and Tori who nodded.

"Friends?" the boy repeated, looking at the girls with his lips pursed in discontent and disdain.

"Yes, friends," I nodded, before looking at this sixth grader with a raised eyebrow, "Why? Do you have a problem with that?"

And it seemed that my question had made this boy angry, as I could see a frown appear on his face as feelings of irritation, anger, and indignation rose within him.

"Do I have a problem with that?! Of course I—" but before he could continue with his probably not very polite response, a Slytherin boy with a short shaved haircut who was already sitting down pulled him down.

"Dude, are you crazy!?" he hissed at the furious sixth year, "Have you forgotten who he is!?"

"Huh? What do you mean by that?" The sixth year asked irritably.

"What do I mean?! What I mean is that he's the fucking Ethan Night!" the shaved-headed boy said, half-panicked and half-scared, "He's the Hogwarts champion, the one who defeated a fucking dragon in a humiliating way and still tamed it. The same one who bloodily and cruelly crushed those aquatic creatures in the second task... This Ethan Night!"

And listening to the shaved-headed Slytherin, this sixth-year boy began to remember that I was no ordinary Muggleborn, and remembering everything I had done so far, he began to understand that I was not someone to be teased.

And then this sixth year turned to me, and he could see that I continued to look at him with my arms crossed as I waited for his answer.

And he noticed that my gaze was calm, but it was a cold, emotionless calm that made him uneasy and a little fearful, and he was sure he saw my eyes flash dangerously for an instant.

...

...

...

...

"Tsk, forget it," this sixth year clicked his tongue as he looked away, and I could feel his fear suppressing his anger.

He then pulled his arm free from the shaved-headed boy's grip, before turning to leave, not wanting to be around me for even a second longer.

"Aw, are you leaving already? I was enjoying our conversation" I said with a 'friendly' smile, which made this sixth year stumble on his feet.

However, recovering quickly, this boy continued to walk without daring to look back, completely ignoring my sarcastic and mocking comment, going to sit at the other end of the table.

And as soon as he left I turned to look at Lily and the Greengrass sisters, who were watching our exchange in silence.

"Girls, I think I made a new friend," I said happily.

And upon hearing this, Daphne looked at me dryly while Lily and Astoria laughed in amusement.

End.
