-At the Slytherin table-

The girls and I continued to sit at the Slytherin table, and thankfully after that sixth year boy no one else tried to interrupt or disrupt our lunch.

Of course, the Slytherins' scowling, angry, and contemptuous looks didn't disappear, but none of them had the courage to try to confront me or kick me out of their house table.

And some Slytherins, those who were aware of how dangerous and chaotic I was, even decided to sit as far away from me as possible, and one of those Slytherins was Malfoy.

He, like that sixth-year boy, had arrived late at the Great Hall for lunch, and when he saw me sitting at his house table he immediately stopped, staring at me with wide eyes.

And all the Slytherins who saw Malfoy arriving thought he was going to cause a disturbance because I was at their table, since he was well known for his arrogance and hatred towards Muggleborns.

However, contrary to what everyone expected, Malfoy didn't try to pick a fight with me.

In fact, he just quickly turned around and began dragging his two bodyguards to sit at the end of the table.

And while everyone was confused by that I knew he did it because he was still afraid of me, and I had felt his panic rise as soon as he saw me.

But leaving that aside, the girls and I continued talking while we ate, and at this moment Tori was telling us about what she had learned in the Transfiguration class she had today.

And while the youngest girl finished talking about the new spell she learned, I looked at the three girls with a thoughtful and curious look.

And Lily apparently noticed this, because as soon as Tori finished speaking she turned to me.

"What's wrong Ethan? Why do you have that thoughtful expression?" She asked me, looking at me with some concern.

And her question snapped me out of my thoughts, making me blink before looking at her, "Huh... Oh, it's nothing, I was just thinking about something" I replied.

"I noticed that," Lily joked, "But what I really wanted to know was what you were thinking about."

And realizing that she would probably keep insisting until she found out what I was thinking, I decided to answer her correctly.

"Actually I was thinking about something I've always been curious to know, and it kind of involves you guys," I said, which made Lily look at me with her head tilted.

"Really? And what would that be?" she asked.

"Well," I began to answer, looking at the three girls who were watching me intently, "I've always been curious to know what it's like to be a Slytherin student."

And upon hearing this, Daphne, Lily and Tori blinked in surprise and confusion, not imagining that this was what was on my mind.

"What it's like to be a Slytherin student?" Daphne repeated.

"Yes," I nodded, "I wanted to know what it's like to be in your house, what your common room is like, what it's like to live with the other Slytherins, what you do for fun, and what your hobbies are... That kind of thing."

And finally understanding what I meant and hearing my questions the girls looked at each other, and I could see a strange expression appear on Daphne and Lily's faces.

"Well..." Lily started to say, turning to me, "I think our house shouldn't be much different from the other houses... And being a Slytherin is... Interesting..."

"Hmm, why do I feel like there's a but coming?" I commented, seeing the white-haired girl purse her lips.

"Look, I really like being a Slytherin... However, I can't deny that sometimes it's a little tiring and stressful being part of my house," she said.

"I agree," Daphne chimed in, "In Slytherin we are not as united as the other houses. To us we are all just housemates and nothing more, and even those who say they are our friends or those who want to become our friends are only after the influence of our families."

"And sure, there are some exceptions, but they are rare, and it's very hard to know who really cares about you or who just wants someone powerful to lean on," she explained, frowning.

And when Daphne said that I could feel her frustration, sadness and disappointment, and those same feelings were also coming from Lily, and to a lesser extent Tori.

"Yes, and if it's not the fake friendships, it's our housemates always wanting to involve us in one of their boring conversations," Lily continued with a sigh.

"Boring conversations?" I asked.

"Uh-huh," she nodded, "Whenever our housemates are together in the common room, they like to chat about politics, alliances, how important their families are, and the latest gossip from the castle." Lily rolled her eyes.

And hearing the last part I blinked, "Wait, gossip?" I looked at her strangely.

"Yes," Lily said, "It may not seem like it, but almost all Slytherins like to gossip."

She then put a finger on her chin, "In fact I would even say that the biggest gossips in school are in my house."

And ignoring the strangeness of this information I snorted, "I'm sure Lavender and Parvati disagree with that."

And hearing this Lily looked at me with a raised eyebrow, and I decided to explain.

"Look, maybe you Slytherins are on par with Mandy and Morag from my house when it comes to gossiping, but I doubt there's anyone in the school more gossipy than those two Gryffindor girls," I said.

"Unfortunately that's true, Brown and Patil are the biggest gossips in school," Daphne said with a slight grimace, "They both always have some new gossip to tell, almost all the rumors that circulate around the school were spread by them, and they always seem to know about things that happen in the castle before anyone else."

"Uh, are they really that amazing?" Tori asked Daphne, who nodded reluctantly.

"Yes, and because of that many Slytherins agree and claim that the two of them are the gossip queens of Hogwarts, and some of them even offered them money to find out where and how they got their information," she replied.

And listening to her sister, Tori blinked in surprise, before looking at the Gryffindor table that was on the other side of the Great Hall, trying to catch a glimpse of the gossip queens.

And the tables were far from each other, but that didn't stop Astoria from looking for Lavender and Parvati, and as she looked at the Gryffindor students she saw two girls who looked about her sister's age whispering to each other as they looked around with predatory eyes.

And Tori didn't know why, but she felt that those two girls were the gossiping couple we were talking about.

"But well, getting back to the subject," I began to say, bringing the girls' attention back to me, "It's still a little strange and surprising to know that while in your common room, you Slytherins act like a group of gossipy old ladies."

"Actually if you think about it logically, it makes sense that Slytherins like to gossip." Daphne commented, and seeing me look at her with a raised eyebrow she decided to explain.

"For us Slytherins, information is power, and gossip is nothing more than a simpler and easier way of gathering information," she said.

"Hmm, that actually makes sense," I muttered, rubbing my chin, "But it's still a little funny to imagine the arrogant Slytherins, who consider themselves serious and composed, getting together to gossip like a group of gossipy old ladies or nosy neighbors."

"Heh, that actually is a little funny" Lily said with an amused smile, with Tori beside her chuckling lightly.

"I have to agree with that," Daphne snorted.

And feeling the amusement of the three girls, I looked at them with an ironic look, "You know that in a way you are also part of this group of gossipy old ladies, right? Or do you prefer to be the nosy neighbors?"

And hearing this their laughter immediately ceased, and the three fair-haired girls then turned to me with grimaces on their faces.

"What?" I asked innocently, but they could see the amusement in my eyes.

"Listen, if you dare call me a gossipy old lady or a nosy neighbor again I will turn you into a pincushion," Daphne threatened me.

"But I didn't even call you…" I tried to say, but the Greengrass heiress stared at me with narrowed eyes, and I could see her hand reaching for her pocket where her wand was.

"Okay... my mouth will stay shut," I said, raising my hands in surrender.

"Good," Daphne nodded in satisfaction, which made me sweat.

'Why do all the girls always have to solve their problems with violence?' I asked myself.

End.
