Yay! Here's the new chapter!

And while sorting was going on, I decided to take a look at the staff table. And the first person to catch my attention was Gandalf sitting in the center. Albus Dumbledore was just like his second actor in the movies. With his long white beard and sparkling blue eyes, he looked at everyone with a gentle grandfatherly smile.

'Even knowing he is the most powerful wizard alive, and a little manipulative, he still manages to convey the feeling of a good old man' I thought impressed. And then I tried to feel his emotions, and incredibly I didn't find any bad emotions other than a little guilt. 'Apparently he's not the bad Dumbledore of fanfics. Fortunately...' I was relieved, as this is one less problem for me to face.

Deciding to go to the next teacher that caught my eye, I ran into Severus Snape, and if he didn't look the same as Alan Rickman and I didn't know who he was from the start, I'd think he was someone cosplaying Darth Vader mixed with Kylo Ren.

'He might as well put on a mask and say in a husky voice 'I'm Batman!' that I would believe'

And the last two that caught my attention were a short, chubby woman with a kind, gentle smile on her face, and a tiny teacher, who was looking at the rankings excitedly. These two were clearly the Herbology teacher and head of the Hufflepuff house, Pomona Sprout, and the part-goblin Charms teacher and head of the Ravenclaw house, Filius Flitwick.

After analyzing the teachers, I went back to paying attention to the classification. And after a few names, it was finally my turn.

"Malone, Roger!"

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

"Moon, Lily!"

"SLYTHERIN!"

"Night, Ethan!"

'Well... it's now or never'

I then began to walk calmly and elegantly with my head held high towards the stool, my robe billowing behind me.

'Hah! Jealous of my style, bitches,' I thought narcissistically.

Arriving in front of the stool I sat on it, and then Professor McGonagall put the Sorting Hat on my head.

"Oh! Very interesting…very interesting indeed…" I heard Sorting Hat's voice in my head.

"Hello Sir Hat" I said mentally in greeting.

"Hello young wizard. How interesting you are…" said the hat.

"What do you mean?" I asked, trying to look calm on the outside, but inside I was sweating with nervousness.

"Well, I can see in you the main features of the four houses. It will be a difficult choice to classify it" the hat answered me.

"Huh? Is that all you saw in my mind?" I asked now confused and curious.

"Yes, when the founders created me, they made me able to see the main characteristics of each person, so I could classify them" he explained to me, and I sighed in relief, "And you are a complicated case. ... You possess all the courage and nobility of Gryffindor, even more than some of the other Gryffindors I have classified. You has the loyalty and hard work of Hufflepuff. Great ambition and the cunning necessary for Slytherin. And also intelligence, acceptance and creativity, together with the perfect thirst for knowledge for Ravenclaw", the Sorting Hat added impressed.

"Well, I'd rather go to Ravenclaw, but you know…" I commented to him.

"Ravenclaw, you say? Hmm, yes...I see you would fit in better there. But why would you choose Ravenclaw if you don't mind my asking?" Sorting Hat asked me curious.

"Well, I can be brave like the Gryffindors, but I wouldn't mindlessly throw myself into situations like them. And as for Hufflepuff, they might be loyal, but they also have a naive mindset, they're easily swayed, plus I'm only loyal to a few people" I then replied to Sorting Hat, "Slytherin is pretty obvious the reason I don't want to go there. This is a house where most of them are blood purists and are prejudiced against muggleborn, and I am a muggleborn, so that leaves only Ravenclaw, which despite being known for being a very competitive house in academics with an air of I know better, it's still the only one I see myself having less problems with," I said, ending my analysis.

'Less problems, and less likely to try to drown someone in the lake'

"I see…" said the Sorting Hat thoughtfully, "So I see no alternative for you but to go to… RAVENCLAW!" with the last part being said out loud.

I then heard the hall break into applause, mostly coming from the Ravenclaw table. I could also feel the disappointment coming from Professor McGonagall. Hat off my head, I got up from the stool and walked over to Ravenclaw's desk, noticing that my tie had changed to the house blue color and the Ravenclaw crest appeared on my robe.

Arriving at the table, I took a seat next to a blond boy who greeted me amiably, "Hi, Anthony Goldstein!"

"Ethan Night!" I greeted him back with a polite smile, and then we went back to watching the classification.

Sorting took place normally, until Professor McGonagall came up with a specific name.

"Potter, Harry!"

The name caused a commotion in the Great Hall, and all the students craned their necks in an attempt to see the famous Boy-Who-Lived.

"Did she say Potter?"

"Harry Potter?!"

I then saw a nervous Harry Potter walking to the stool. He looked like Daniel Radcliffe, with the only differences being the fact that he was shorter and thinner than the actor at the beginning of the films.

The Sorting Hat was then placed on Harry's head, and after a while it announced it to the entire hall.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

And the whole Gryffindor table went crazy. Everyone applauded and cheered for having Potter to their home, with the twins being the most excited. And from the staff table I could feel Professor Snape's emotions of sadness, anger and contempt and Dumbledore's happiness and guilt being directed at Potter.

After Potter was sorted into Gryffindor, the rest of sorting proceeded as normal, with many names I knew or didn't know being called.

When the sorting ended, Dumbledore stood up with a happy smile and his arms unconcernedly open.

"Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts!" he said looking at all the students, "And before we start the feast I would like to say a few words: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!"

"Thanks!" he finished, sitting down again. And then the food magically appeared on the tables.

The rest of the banquet continued as normal, with me talking from time to time with some older students and getting to know my classmates, and I found out that counting on me, Ravenclaw has ten new students, 5 boys and 5 girls.

I also talked to Anthony more, and found him to be very easy to talk to and very friendly. He told me about growing up in a wizarding family and in return I told him about my life in the muggle world. And between eating and talking, the banquet came to an end.

At the end of the feast, Dumbledore got up and talked about school rules, practice for the Quidditch team, and the forbidden third-floor hallway, before singing the school anthem. And at the end of it all, Dumbledore dispatched us to our dorms.

End.
