When we finally arrived and sat down at the Ravenclaw table for lunch, some of our colleagues came and sat around us, and they immediately started questioning us.

"How did you manage to cast the spell so fast?"

"Yes, I barely managed to produce any light from my wand"

"And I haven't even managed to cast the spell yet?"

"Calm! Don't all speak at once" I said in an attempt to silence them as their voices along with my improved hearing were making my ears hurt, "I just read about the spell in the book before"

"But I also read the book, and I still couldn't cast the spell," Michael Corner, a boy with long dark hair and blue eyes, said with a frown on his face.

"So maybe I'm just talented at Charms," I said with a shrug, much to Corner's annoyance and a few others.

"And you Anthony? You and Terry were the second and third to be able to cast the spell." Sue Li, an Asian girl with long black hair and tanned skin, asked Anthony.

"Huh? Me?" asked Anthony in surprise, "Well I just asked Ethan for help, and he explained how to cast the spell" he stated simply.

"Me too," Terry replied before anyone could ask him too.

"And why didn't you help us too?" Corner asked me with an annoyed look on his face.

"You didn't ask," I said calmly with another shrug. And hearing my answer, Corner and the others could only sit in resignation.

And with that, Anthony, Terry and I were able to calmly go back to eating, talking about what we thought of the two classes we had, and comparing Professor Snape to Professor Flitwick.

"Professor Flitwick is undeniably nicer than Professor Snape," Anthony said, as if stating a fact.

"I totally agree" Terry said, "And who is it that takes points away from someone for 'Writing too loud'?!" he asked rhetorically.

"I think the same person who dropped points for 'Being dumb enough not to know the difference between Monkshood and Wolfsbane,'" Anthony replied with a roll of his eyes.

"It's just that they don't have a difference. They are the same plant, which also goes by the name Aconite" I told them wisely.

"'Shut up, Ethan,'" they said to me as they rolled their eyes.

The three of us then looked each other in the face and started laughing.

"Huff... Well... At least we only have classes with Professor Snape twice a week" I said after catching my breath.

"But that's still two more classes than I'd like to take," Anthony said as he wiped a laughing tear from the corner of his eye.

"Wait, wouldn't that give zero classes?" Terry asked confused. And Anthony just shrugged as if to say 'So what?'

After lunch, the boys and I decided to take a walk around Black Lake at break, while we waited for the next class to start, which was Transfiguration.

"Next class is Transfiguration with the Gryffindors, right?" Terry asked as we sat down on some rocks in front of the lake.

"Hmm... Yes! Third period is Transfiguration, and our last class is also DADA with the Gryffindors." Anthony told Terry after taking a look at the class schedule, which he had tucked away in his bag, "The Transfiguration teacher is that stern looking teacher who took it to the Great Hall and made our classification, right?" Anthony then asked.

"Yes. Her name is Minerva McGonagall, and in addition to being the Transfiguration teacher, she is also the Head of Gryffindor House and Deputy Headmistress" I informed them.

"Ugh! She can't be worse than Professor Snape, can she?" Anthony asked with a groan of despair.

"I don't know... Besides being the Deputy Headmistress, she's also the Head of Gryffindor, she can be just as bad as Professor Snape." Terry said with a frown on his face.

"She's nice," I said defending her, "She can be strict at times, but she's a good teacher. Besides, she is quite fair in relation to the students"

"Do you know her, Ethan?" Anthony asked me curious.

"Uhm, she was the one who brought my letter from Hogwarts and took my parents and me to Diagon Alley to buy my school supplies," I said, explaining to them how I met Professor McGonagall.

"Ah yes! It's just that sometimes I forget you're Muggle-born as much as you know about magic," Anthony said, slapping a hand to his forehead.

"Speaking of Head of House, who is our Head of House?" Terry asked for us.

"Our Head of House is Professor Flitwick. Professor Snape is the Head of Slytherin, and Herbology Professor, Pomona Sprout, is the Head of Hufflepuff House" I told them, also speaking to the Heads of the other Houses.

"Yes!" Anthony said excitedly, "We have the best teacher so far as Head of House"

"The best teacher would definitely be the Head of House of the best house," Terry said proudly, "And I'm really not surprised that Professor Snape is the Head of Slytherin. In fact, that's something I've come to expect," commented Terry thoughtfully.

"He's obviously biased. And thanks to the fact that he's the Head of Slytherin, he probably uses his position to gain Slytherin perks in the House Cup. That's why Slytherin won the last Home Cups" I told them thoughtfully, "And that's all the more reason for me to think this competition is stupid. What's the point of trying to score points if Professor Snape is going to favor Slytherin and sabotage the other Houses?"

"The Principal and the other teachers don't do anything about it?" Anthony asked surprised and confused.

"Probably not, since Professor Snape keeps doing it" Terry replied to Anthony.

"This is so unfair!" Anthony exclaimed indignantly.

"Well, we're in a world where a person's 'purity' defines what treatment they receive, so I don't expect things around here to be really fair," I commented with a shrug.

"But if Professor Snape favors Slytherin so they win the House Cup, why don't the other Heads of Houses do the same?" Anthony asked confused.

"Because, unlike Professor Snape, who is petty and insecure enough to have to cheat to win the House Cup, other professors prefer to win honestly" I said mockingly, "That and the fact that they wouldn't be able to do that"

"Huh? Why couldn't they do that?" Anthony asked genuinely confused, and even Terry looked curious as to why.

End.
