Chapter 4 - C-4

"Coffee and muffins are your breakfast not your phone," I whispered out of the blue.

"Oh my!"Irene gasped. "Mr Helen you totally got me!" she exclaimed in astonishment.

"Did I startle you?" I enquired rhetorically.

"You gave me a jolt," she pouted.

"Yes!!! Mission accomplished!" I pumped my fist in empty airs.

"You are one naughty introvert," Irene commented sarcastically.

I smiled in response and took a chair.

'When did I become such a chatterbox?' I wondered.

Looking back, it was indeed mystifying.

I frequently smiled the previous day.

'A simple smile could metamorphose the day so much,' I recalled in amazement.

"Thank you," I returned her scarf.

"For spluttering coffee on your face? I will gladly do it again if it made you happy," she taunted.

"For my future revenge," I cut back.

'For making me smile and for showing me a gaily life,' I uttered in my head.

"How could you be so mouthy overnight?" she snickered.

"An old lady called me a mirror. I had to work on it," I jeered.

"You won't meet a more beautiful person than the 'old lady'," she boasted flippantly.

"I don't find any beauty in this room," I replied derisively.

I kept on reminiscing the past two morning incidents and couldn't help myself but laughed foolishly.

My colleague noticed my peculiar behavior.

"Did you fall in love or have you gone mad," he queried suspiciously.

"Don't slack off your work," I reprimanded him.

"Who is out of his mind right now!" he mocked.

Every morning we had breakfast together.

My life became brighter. I caught a glimpse of sunshine in my life.

Unknowingly, we became close enough to share our problems and histories.

I looked forward to breakfast every day.

Morning had unconsciously become the best time of the day.
