Brandon Piers had not come back by dinnertime.
Abigail played with little Teddy until eight, put him to sleep, and then stepped out of the nursery to send a message to Pullan, asking where Brandon was.
She waited for a long time without a reply.
Feeling bored, Abigail went to the gym for an hour, and by the time she came out, it was already past nine. She took a shower, put on her carefully selected clothes, and went to Brandon's study, acting nonchalant. No one was there.
She then went to Brandon's room with the same air of nonchalance. He wasn't there either.

Abigail pulled out her phone. Pullan still hadn't replied.
This was not normal.
The last time Brandon hadn't come home this late, he had gone to April Sky, the biggest nightclub in Swallow City, and found himself a pretty girl.
The more Abigail thought about it, the more uneasy she felt.
Could he be drinking at April Sky again?
Feeling uneasy, Abigail decided to call Pullan.
