Chapter 1 - Chapter 01: Rebirth and Childbirth

Maggie Maternity Hospital.

Abigail Green lay in the delivery room, her body heavy and weary. Her cervix had dilated to three centimeters, yet no one gave her anesthesia.

Each contraction felt like it took half her life.

Starving, thirsty, exhausted!

And the unending pain wore down her already fragile will.

"Auntie, help me..."

"Ruby, I'm begging you, help me..."

Rose Taylor crossed her arms, her gaze icy as she stared at the woman on the delivery bed. "Doctor Penn, why isn't she delivering yet?"

"She's only dilated to three centimeters. She needs to reach ten." Doctor Penn answered nervously.

"How long until she's at ten?" Ruby Green asked impatiently. She had already grown tired of waiting for the fat bitch to deliver.

"That depends on her physical condition."

"Depends on her condition?" Ruby's expression grew darker.

Rose frowned. "Should we give her another shot of oxytocin?"

"She's already had three shots. Any more will be useless. She needs to push." The female doctor explained.

Slap!

"Push, fat bitch!" Ruby Green slapped Abigail's plump face hard.

"Waaah..." Abigail was trembling from the pain of the contraction. Ruby's slap left her head buzzing, and she cried out in pain.

"Useless! If you don't push, I'll beat you to death! You shouldn't even be alive!"

"Aah, it hurts..." The intense shame combined with the severe contractions made Abigail's groans sound like cries of desperation, as if each one took her closer to the reaper.

What hurt her more was knowing that Rose Taylor and her daughter had deceived her from the start.

"Push, fat bitch. Do you know why you're so fat? Because of the full-fat milk powder with additives my mom bought from abroad. What do you think will happen if you die on the delivery bed because the baby is too big? Hahaha."

"Ah..." Another contraction hit.

But Ruby's words pained Abigail even more. What they told her about doing it for her own and the baby's good was all lies!

"Dad, save me, you vicious women..."

"You think your dad doesn't know? Hahaha. Too bad he doesn't care about you, hoodoo who killed his biological mother! I'm telling you, push or I'll make you wish you were dead." Ruby whispered menacingly in Abigail's ear.

This cowardly, useless fat woman deserved to be exploited by her forever.

Beep beep beep...

"Not good, the baby's heart rate is up to 180. We need a C-section." The monitor's alarm blared as the doctor quickly warned.

"What do we do? How do we explain a C-section without a scar?" Rose Taylor panicked.

"Mom, I have no scars on my lower abdomen. Who will know if it's vaginal or C-section? Doctor, perform the surgery." Ruby instructed the doctor, giving a venomous glance at the woman on the bed.

"The anesthetist is with the madam. I'm afraid..." The doctor hesitated.

"What are you afraid of? We only want the baby."

"But..."

"Get on with it." Ruby commanded coldly. Doctor Penn had no choice but to prepare quickly for the C-section.

The sharp scalpel cut open Abigail's belly. Without anesthesia, the pain made her body convulse uncontrollably. The life monitor kept alarming, but no one cared.

"Waa waa waa..."

As Abigail heard the baby's cries, her body lost all feeling. She only saw the blood streaming from her belly and a blood-covered baby being lifted from her by the doctor.

"The baby..." Her voice barely a whisper, Abigail lost consciousness completely.

Who would have thought she would be dead from the pain.

Dead from the intense pain.

"What do we do? The mother's not breathing!" After cleaning the baby, Doctor Penn realized Abigail had stopped breathing.

"What are you afraid of? It's normal for women to die in childbirth. The Piers family will be here soon. Hurry and help me get ready." Ruby urged.

The delivery room was in chaos, but no one cared about the dead Abigail Green.

No one noticed when, thirty minutes after losing her breath, the mother suddenly opened her eyes.
