After putting Teddy to sleep, Abigail went downstairs and found that Grandpa Smith was still sitting there.
This past month, Abigail had been busy competing with Lena, Sophie, and the others, leaving her no time to visit Grandpa Smith. She called him earlier, thinking the stubborn old man might be angry, never expecting he would come over on his own.
"Hmph, the little one is asleep. Now you have to accompany the big one, don't you?" Grandpa Smith said snappily when he saw Abigail come down, eyeing Brandon, who approached from the other side, thinking this man was here to steal his granddaughter.
"No, I'm here to keep you company, of course." Abigail replied, reflecting on how each of them, from the oldest to the youngest, was difficult to please.
She really had it tough.
"Time to eat," Brandon reminded her concisely.
