Abigail opened the door just as Housekeeper Piers was about to knock for the second time.
"Seco—" Housekeeper Piers stopped, his mouth slightly open, and swallowed the words he was about to say, "Madam, you... and Mr. Brandon..."
"Nothing, nothing, I was just going to check on Teddy." Abigail interrupted without thinking when she heard Housekeeper Piers linking her with Brandon.
"It's time for breakfast." Housekeeper Piers finally found the right words, but Abigail had already made her way to the nursery.
As soon as she entered, she saw Aunt Claudia trying to soothe a crying Teddy, while Grandpa was as anxious as a cat on a hot tin roof. When he saw Abigail, he immediately raised his cane, "You little rascal! It's early in the morning. What were you doing instead of staying with Teddy? Do you even remember you're the mother?"
