Looking at his unwilling father, Adam feared his dad might do something foolish again. "Dad, you should actually feel lucky."
He finished speaking and habitually lay on the sofa, crossing one leg over the other.
Mason Piers laughed angrily, "I should feel lucky? Should I also kneel and thank him for not killing me?"
"You should kneel and thank him for not touching your only son. Otherwise, you'd be like Uncle Oliver, crying and praying for his son's safety on the plane, then using the ransom money to negotiate with those SIS terrorists, constantly worrying about his son being killed." Adam shrugged.
He actually thought Uncle Oliver's plan was quite successful this time. As long as Brandon hadn't turned back, he would at least be injured, if not dead. But he did turn back, making Adam suspect that this monster had some supernatural power to foresee danger.
