Brandon Piers was momentarily softened by the gaze of Abigail Green's bright, dark eyes and looked up at the old man. "No need."
Abigail silently breathed a sigh of relief.
The next moment, she heard the man add, "I'll go find her myself."
Abigail, "..." What the heck is the difference?
The old man nodded at his grandson with satisfaction, thinking, "This young one can be taught."
Abigail simply lowered her head and continued eating. Lately, life had really been in deep distress.
After dinner, Abigail switched with Kelly, played with little Teddy until after seven, and seeing the little guy fall asleep, asked Kelly to watch over him while she took a bath. When she came out, she found the atmosphere was not quite right.
"Abigail, now that you're done with your bath, I'll take Teddy next door to sleep. You take good care of Mr. Brandon." With that said, she turned and left with Teddy, not giving Abigail a chance to react.
