I took the girls hand leading her to the coffee shop as it was walking distance. I was glad It It was always open and this time of night it wasnt as busy. Plus I knew the owner.
We get there and she greets us taking us to a table in the back. She looks at me and smiles. Who is your friend? She asked cheerfully.
Then pulled her notepad out. The usual dear? She asked her knowing her order of a french vanilla coffee with some a box of donuts. She looked at the girl across from me and tilted her head. As she waited.
"Oh yea. My name is Nova and I'd like a caramel frappe with a couple donuts please. Some maple and some glaze. " I looked up smiling myself. She nodded. As she took our orders.
We relaxed and talked for awhile till our orders came. The donuts smelled really good. Our tummys grumbled at the same time causing us to let out a giggle. realizing we were starving. She sat our orders down and smiled. And I pulled out my wallet. She shook her head.
"No need dear this is on me. She said hugging me close.
I smiled and hugged her back shaking my head. " oh thank you Connie just Consider it a tip" she said watching her shake her head but she still took the money. I smiled at her. We giggled and watched as she went back to the kitchen with a nod. "She is an old family friend. I said to her as she nodded. I watched as she picked up one of the donuts and took a bite. Her face lit up.
" wow these are really good." I nodded my head with a smile.
"I know right?" I replied with a giggle. As we sat there for hours in each others company. Till we were both ready to leave. I offered to walk her home. "Look I had a great time tonight I hope to see you again some time. I watched as she bit her lip to smile.
"That would he really sweet but you don't have to," I hear her say under her breath. As I took her hand and we were off to her house. I was glad my vehicle was taken home not that I minded coming back to pick it up in the morning. I was broken from my thoughts when we had stopped.
When she turned to me she spoke again and what came out of her mouth kinda stung abit at first. "I really had fun tonight maybe we can do this again, as just friends." I watched her turn as she disappeared into the house
I made my way to my own place as tears escaped my eyes and made a trail down my cheek. I wasn't sure what I was expecting out of this. But maybe I was hoping there would be more. I wiped the tears away with the back of my hand. As I made it to my own room.
