Dr. Lloyd POV
(Authors Note: The Alyx character in this story is not me, I made him as an OC a few years back and decided that I liked the name for mtyself. Just for clarification :3)
Today marks the three day countdown to the release of my two greatest achievements, in my entire life. 15 years ago, I was able to obtain two healthy infants from mothers who had died from labor complications. I have been waiting for that opportunity since the day I discovered genetic mutation and the alteration of the human body. Over the years I've had many failed test subjects, Jeremy was the first. His parents had put him up for adoption because he was an accidental pregnancy while his parents were still young. I had faked a family going to adopt him, and made them say he ran away when in reality I had him. I was able to give him some abilities but they weren't 100% effective, 100% of the time which was an issue. Eventually he went crazy and had to be euthanized before he became a threat to others including himself. The second was Lauren, she started off fine but one day he body completely rejected the treatment she was receiving. She eventually died from exhaustion, for nor sleeping for about 2 weeks no matter what we did. Sedatives, anesthetic gas, nothing worked. Then it was back to the drawing board for about 100+ more kids, though it doesn't concern me that I was taking many lives for the sake of a lifelong dream. It's not like I care now because I've finally made 2 successful subjects, A-235 and A-236. These two have had no issue talong the treatment, controlling their abilities, and they're the only ones that are literate. I've named them Ace and Alyx, although that doesn't matter until I set them free. These two are the most advanced subjects I've ever engineered, they are also the most beautiful. A-235, or Alyx is a 15 year old male who is absolutely stunning. He had a beautiful head of dark brown and curly hair that perfectly framed his gently rounded face. His eyes were a beautiful brown that changed color from time to time as a result of the treatment, with gentle specks of green and even yellow in them. He was thin but muscular and pretty tall for his age, he Also had a very feminine look to him. His hands were dainty as well as his waist which was thinner than most females. Ace is very different from Alyx, he is extremely tall and has very dark blue eyes that look almost black. His face is very angular and has very sharp features, his shoulders are broad and he is very muscular. He didn't need much physical activity to get this large muscle wise though, and that was fascinating. Now onto abilities, both subjects can telepathically speak to each other whenever they want, they have adrenaline induced super strength like most normal people but stronger. Both have a pair of hawk-like wings that are fully functional, and they have extremely good eyesight, just like hawks do. They both have a few similar abilities and features but both have a variety of different ones. Today is the day I let them finally meet each other without glass separating them, they've only ever seen the other on a few select occasions. I wave to my assistant, Dr. Mason and she nods walking away to get Ace from where he was being kept. I sent multiple men armed with tranquilizer guns with Dr. Mason because Ace wss a bit aggressive when it came to cooperating. We had to restrain him to a wheelchair to move him around in the lab or he'd be a danger to everyone including himself. I could hear Dr. Mason come back with the sound of the rattling wheelchair and faint snarling and growling following her. Standing in front of Alyx's room, I peer into the glass window that separated me from him and knocked on it while pressing button on the mic so I could speak through the intercom in the room, 'Hello Alyx, today you will get to see a familiar friend but now you get to physically touch him instead of being seen through glass. I hope you enjoy this gift to you.' I let go of the button and look to my right to see Dr. Mason making a stop in front of the steel door with Ace strapped into the wheelchair growling and struggling ferociously, "You're going to be seeing Alyx, you wouldn't want to scare your fragile companion would you?" His struggling calmed down and his head snapped towards me glaring at my manipulation. I smiled, not a warm smile, but a smile nonetheless and closed Alyx off into one half of his room so I could open the door to put Ace inside. I one the steel door and let Dr. Mason wheel Ace in and undid the restraints before quickly bolting out of the room to safety. I closed the door and lifted the barrier separating Alyx from escaping, we all watched waiting for what would happen. Ace quickly went to the barrier once it started lifting and was rushed by Alyx sprinting and hugging him tight omce close enough. We all watched as Ace hugged him in return and shield Alyx with his large black and white speckled wings. Alyx spoke to him with a very gentle voice and from the sound of it he was enjoying the embrace.
