Chapter 1 - Alov Nickel Von

Alov Nickel Von.

That was the name of an ordinary man who was trying so hard to make ends meet.

As Alov Nickel Von didn't have the necessary connections, he couldn't get a decent job and was only able to work a low-paying blue-collar job.

Although he had the necessary skills to perform well in a well-paying company, he really couldn't get a job.

It was as if life itself was telling Alov Nickel Von that he shouldn't do something he couldn't do.

That was why Alov Nickel Von was constantly looking for other jobs as his current job, construction labor doesn't pay that well.

However, even though he was constantly looking for a job, he could only get a job one at a time.

It was weird as hell, but Alov didn't pay it too much attention. After all, Alov had to work extra hard just to pay bills and eat.

He doesn't have the time to be sad and whine about it.

Well, Alov was doing his best to try and change his life by trying to get his powers back.

When Alov was a child, he was super talented that he was dubbed as the fighting genius of his school.

Of course, that school was a magic and swords school where they teach people to fight.

However, when Alov was about to participate in a fighting contest, Alov...was attacked by some unknown guy.

Alov then suffered an injury that made him into a cripple. His mana circuits and veins...were destroyed thoroughly that nothing could heal it.

It was unknown whether it was done by other contestants who feared Alov or it was just completely random.

After all, Alov was just that strong and powerful in his teenage days.

That was why Alov was trying to get his powers back by getting into training again.

If Alov could somehow regain a little bit of his power in the past, he would probably be able to become a Predator.

Predator. It was the term for people who were strong and were able to make riches from fighting.

It was probably the easiest and the hardest job of all time. It was ironic since it was easy to be financially stable if one is a predator.

However, the reason why it is also the hardest job is because one would always have to risk one's life.

After all, they were fighting for real. Predators would put their lives in a battle. They weren't just for show or something like that.

Either way, Alov would be able to at least get some comfortable money if he worked as a Predator.

However, no matter how much Alov trained, he couldn't...release a single magic.

After all, it's not like his mana circuits and veins would suddenly get healed just because he began training again.

Life was not easy, and Alov knew that very well, which is why he didn't slack on his job.

It was a harsh life as he just focused on training, and not taking a day off in his job even for a single day.

In fact, Alov...was living life like a robot.

Wake up, eat...hell, sometimes he doesn't even eat, work, train, sleep and repeat.

As Alov didn't have any relatives, no one helped him during this tough phase of his life.

Even his friends from before when he was still strong and all didn't lend a helping hand to him right now.

No, they even acted as if they didn't know Alov whenever they would coincidentally meet.

Alov's life was so tough, but it was because Alov's discipline was so strict that he didn't consider giving up or committing suicide.

He didn't let anything get to his mind as he just worked every day as he thought to regain the future.

And that kind of tough mindset of Alov came from his now-deceased father.

No, that man wasn't really his father as Alov was an orphan who got adopted.

Alov was born in the streets, and he just grew up without knowing anyone.

He then met up with his now-deceased father in the streets as his father just said one word.

"White."

His father then picked him up and adopted him on the spot as if it were just natural.

Of course, Alov didn't fight back or something like that. After all, Alov...wanted companionship.

He wanted someone. He wanted something to be with him. Even with a stranger, Alov was fine with it.

And Alov grew up with his foster father giving him his daily needs and essentials needed to survive.

However, even then, Alov and his father...wasn't really that close. They didn't share that many conversations, and they only bonded when they needed to.

It was such a robotic way of living for a family, but Alov was completely fine with it.

After all, silence with his father was still companionship. And that was all that Alov wanted when he was a child.

Alov was able to learn many valuable lessons from his father as his father was also an ordinary man.

He wasn't that powerful nor was he rich. He just worked hard and didn't whine about a single thing while providing Alov a bountiful life.

However, when Alov got his mana veins and circuits destroyed, there was another thing that was destroyed as well.

And that was his father's life. His father died while he was working as a delivery man.

That phase of his life was probably the hardest one, and that was why Alov could still live on today.

"Bad times will pass, and light will shine on me."

"My time...will come soon."

Those two sentences were Alov's father's last words in this world. Alov came to know it when his father's coworker came to tell the news of his father's death.

And Alov used it as daily motivation for himself, too. After all, he...was exactly like his old man.

Ordinary, hardworking, and normal. It was ironic if you think about how they were so similar to each other, but they were not blood-related.

And after a hard day at work, Alov came back to his home.

Of course, that was his father's home that became his when his father died.
