Alov came home after a hard day at work. Of course, that work was from the construction job that he just got.
Alov was very tired as the construction job that he just got was three cities away from where he lived.
As Alov had to save every single penny that he could save, Alov...always walked.
Right, Alov always walked to go to his job and to go back to his home.
He had to walk three cities' distance just to attend work that doesn't even give that much.
It was harsh, but that was all Alov could do in this situation as the other jobs that he tried applying for had not called him back.
After all, it's not like Alov could just quit this job all of a sudden when he got nothing to back it up.
Anyways, when Alov got home, he quickly moved to his room.
Well, his house was already his room so he just moved to his bed.
His father's house was actually quite big when Alov inherited it when his father died.
It was so big that they would probably be able to keep three cars in their garage and have a mansion-like house.
However, Alov had to renovate the house to a smaller house and sell the land around the house when his father first died.
After all, Alov was still studying back then, and he didn't have any money to pay the bills and feed himself.
What's more, Alov found out that his father didn't have any savings.
It means that his father literally gave everything that he could just to make things easier for Alov when he was still young.
Well, it backfired now that Alov was forced to sell the land.
Now...the house that used to be so big only now had one room worth of space.
Alov didn't really mind it as he was the one to make the decision, and this one room worth of space was actually quite big enough for Alov.
"Hah...this is tiring." Alov said as he sat down on the bed. He then raised his feet to take off his socks.
He then threw them on the corner of the room where his pile of unclean clothes was stocked.
Right after doing that, he quickly whipped his head to look for the electric fan.
It was on his right side, and the electric fan was standing on top of some chair.
Of course, since it was able to stand on top of a chair, the electric fan was small.
It was so small that this fan wouldn't be able to cool off Alov's whole body at once.
However, it was enough for Alov as he reached out for a button in the electric fan.
But...it seems that Alov was hesitating as he didn't push the button.
"Hmm..." Alov hummed with his face turned into a frown as he thought about his bills and pay.
He knew that he wouldn't be able to pay his electrical bill if he used his fan now.
That was how low his pay was in his current job.
That was why...Alov refrained from using the electric fan and just proceeded to lay on the bed.
"Whew. Life's hard, eh? Father..." Alov said as he closed his eyes.
It's been 10 years since his father died, and when his father died, Alov was just 18 years old back then.
He was young, and full of life, hoping for his future. Now, Alov was 28 years old, and the future...was just slipping away from him.
Alov couldn't dream about being a Predator anymore as Alov...had to keep himself grounded on the ground to survive.
Right, he needed to survive first before he could even live.
It was a harsh life that Alov never guessed would happen to him ever since he first started to live with his father.
Well, considering that Alov was from the streets, he has a life that many other homeless people would envy.
Alov knew that very well, and that was why he just focused on surviving.
"Bad times will pass...and light will shine on me."
"My time...will come soon."
Alov said with a hoarse voice as he felt his consciousness slipping away from him.
It was only natural that he would fall asleep real fast as it was already late at night.
He was also tired from work, and he would need to have the energy to work, so...Alov didn't fight off the sleepiness or something like that.
However, it seems that it was not time for Alov to fall asleep yet as someone knocked on his house's door.
Tok! Tok! Tok!
The knocking resounded out, and Alov could hear it well. After all, it prevented him from waking up.
"Argh...what is it..." Alov said as he rubbed his eyes as he proceeded to stand up.
He then walked towards the door. It didn't take him a long time as it was just near to him.
"My night's really messed up...someone just gotta ruin my sleep." Alov murmured as he began to open the door.
He didn't open it wide as he just took a peak with his eyes to see who the hell disturbed his sleep.
Well, maybe it would be for the better as Alov has not changed the clothes that he used for work.
It was absolutely disgusting for him to sleep on that and not even take a bath, but well.
That was how tired Alov was.
Anyway, when Alov peeked out of the door, he soon...saw nothing.
There was no one standing by the door, and that was weird.
After all, Alov was sure that he heard a knock.
"What the...did someone just prank me or something?" Alov said as he whipped his eyes left and right.
There really was no one, and this made Alov click his tongue as it annoyed him.
"Tsk. Not a good prank." Alov said as he began to close the door.
No...Alov tried to close the door, but he couldn't!
However, before Alov could even react about that, his eyes...soon witnessed a change outside the door.
And that change was...there was a fire.
"What the?" Alov murmured as he couldn't believe what he was seeing right now.
