5 years and a couple of months pass and everything is going good. Luke is now at a college level in his studies and Tael is starting his first day of highschool. Tael had come over the night before to make sure that Luke would be fine the entire day tomorrow. Luke assured him that he would be good the whole day until he got out of school at 2:30.
It has indeed been 4 or 5 years and Luke is still homeless but that's because he doesn't want to bother Tael and his mom with himself. Everyday Luke felt closer to being done with his studies and getting a job. And in exchange for not wanting to stay at Tael's house, Tael's mom offered to pay everything for his interviews. He immediately agreed because he knew she would get really scary if he said no.
"Alright I'm off" Tael said, walking to hug Luke and wrapping his arms around the man in a bear hug.
"OK, OK, I stink you'll get dirty before you make it to school" Luke pulled the boy off of him in worry.
"DON'T SAY THAT I CAN HUG YOU ANYTIME" Tael shouted at Luke. Angry that Luke said that about himself Tael left with the mere words of "I'm going to be late for school."
Luke was so surprised since he had only seen Tael act like this Luke was putting himself down because he was homeless and uneducated. Last time he just had a very long talk with Luke. This was nothing like that, he even yelled this time.
After that big outburst and Tael leaving in a hurry Luke layed down and took a short nap before waking up to do his work.
Turns out this nap was a lot longer than it was supposed to be because Luke woke up to an angry and sad Tael, a combination he did not like to see.
"What's wrong Tael?" The frightened but worried Luke asked.
"IT'S ONLY ME FIRST DAY AND THEY ALREADY MADE FUN OF ME" Tael shouted.
"What for? Have you told your mom?" Luke asked.
"No, and you can't either," Tael said.
"You know how I feel about lying to your mom," Luke said in all seriousness.
Tael: Ok just don't tell her yet I will tell her. So what happened was that I didn't have a lot of people that liked me in middle school and all those people of course followed me into highschool. There was this little rumor going around that I am......gay.
Luke: What does that mean?
Tael: It means that a man likes a man but it really just means being happy.
Luke: OH well if it makes you happy and it's just happiness why are people making fun of you.
Tael: I don't know why, but I mean I don't think that I am. I just don't want to be made fun of everyday in highschool.
Luke: Then don't, just live your life. You can like who you want and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. They won't make fun of you if you're confident. And if you don't like someone like that just say that and stand up for yourself, but if you like someone let it be known and be proud of it and embrace yourself. I may not know about many of these new things going on, but I know about people's feelings and I know that you are really hurt by this.
Tael: I mean I don't know what to do. I'm just not sure about anything anymore. THEY EVEN GOT A LOT MORE PEOPLE IN THE HIGH SCHOOL TO MAKE FUN OF ME.
Luke: That doesn't matter, just be yourself.
At this point Tael had broken down crying in Luke's arms. The boy was so confused about himself because he knows that he's not attracted to men. This fact was pretty obvious, but Tael was still confuzled about everything because he didn't want to be made fun of but he wanted to stand up for himself.
The two sat there while Tael tried to calm down and get his face together. It was around 8 o'clock and the two had talked to each other the whole entire night and it was Time for Tael to go home.
The boy got up, grabbed his bag, and with his heated red face that Luke had caught a glimpse of Tael started on his way home with no goodbye or goodnight.
A couple months later.
As everything always starts out good and there's no problems…..that's exactly what this day was. This day went by like any regular day. Luke woke up and Tael was there waiting for him to wake up so he could go to school. And things are actually going pretty good at school for Tael with the bullying situation. He has been coming to Luke telling him about all his new friends and how they eat together and talk all the time.
Luke was so glad that he was making friends and he thought that with these new friends he would hang out with people more his age. That never happened.
"Hey, do you have a birthday?" Tael looked at the man.
"I don't remember my birthday but I know that I'm 26 now" Luke told the boy with a surprised look on his face.
"You don't remember your birthday?" Tael questioned.
"No, it's been so many years that I forgot." Luke responded.
"Well since you don't remember yours we can share mine MARCH 8" He proposed this idea with a bright smile on his face.
"I couldn't Tael that would take away from you on your day," Luke said.
This continued a couple more minutes until Tael had to go to eat and go to sleep. He handed Luke his daily dollar and told him goodnight and left.
Luke was on his way to sleep when he looked at his cheap little calendar that he had gotten from the store.
"MARCH 8 IS TOMORROW" He screamed.
He was so heated and he knew he fell into a trap.
It is now the next day and there Tael was with gifts, cake, and more. Luke told him to go back and that he didn't need any of this but as everyone knew that boy doesn't listen to anyone. Tael once again had prepared this huge party and everyone was invited once more.
The two opened their gifts from everyone and they mostly got the same things except that Tael got another suit, a pair of dress shoes, and more school books. Tael looked at this man with so much disgust because he had never seen anyone that happy about learning.
Everyone left the part after they ate cake and watched the boys open presents. And the same situation as last time the two boys were left alone to clean up in the after party.
Luke sat down first and Tael followed soon after and joined the man on the surprisingly comfortable sleeping bag with blankets. Tael's mom told him he didn't have to be home until 10:00 since it was a Friday.
They both sat there and talked about what they got until it was just awkward silence. That silence quickly broke when Tael accidentally hit Luke and Luke hit him back gently and they both ended up in a play fight on this sleeping bag. Tael grabbed a hold to Luke's shoulder and hopped on his lap and smiled at him and said playfully
"I SAID IT WAS AN ACCIDENT" He laughed off still on Luke's lap.
It was very quiet while they were just staring deeply into each other's eyes. Then the unimaginable came... Tael kissed Luke.
This 14 year old just kissed this man outside of a gas station on his lap. Tael held control of this kiss while Luke didn't know what to do. He had never had a kiss and this was his first. As Luke sat there defenseless Tael forced his tongue in Luke's mouth and finally without knowing that he let him in Luke let him in. Tael was now guiding Luke with both his mouth and tongue. Luke could feel himself growing and he didn't want the boy to see this and that's when he realized what was happening.
Luke forcefully pulled himself away from this kiss and Tael asked what was wrong and got off his lap.
"We can't do this. I'm 12 years older than you and you're 14"Luke said still out of breath. Luke looked up at the boy and started to see the worst thing he hated to see... Tael crying.
"I-I-I'm so-sio-sorry"The boy sobbed.
"NO, no, don't c-" He tried to say while trying to wipe Tael's tears but Tael stood up in a rush.
"I have to go," Tael said quickly and started to run away sobbing.
"Tael you don't have t-" Tael ran off before Luke could finish what he was saying.
At this point Luke was crying too because he didn't like to see him crying especially if it's his fault. He told himself he would apologize the next day when Tael came by to see him.
The next day(morning)....
He didn't show.
Luke was starting to freak out because this was his fault and he didn't mean to make the boy cry. He didn't think the boy would show for the whole day and he was right he didn't.
Tael actually didn't show up for months.
Tael's pov(kinda):
Tael had just ran all the way home sobbing. When he got to his porch and saw his mom and he cleared up his tears and threw his hood on.
Tael's mom: So we need to talk. We're moving out of this town. I got a really good job that pays really well and you will love the schools up there. So I need you to pack all your things we leave in a week.
A week he thought. And in that week would he go to see the man who had just told him he was too young. This thought remained in his head the whole week and he pondered on if he should go and see him and tell him he's leaving.
But that's when all his thoughts and emotions that he had been holding in had just poured out and he chose not to go to him and to just leave the man sitting there to feel like he felt. And he went through with that plan and in one weeks notice Tael and his mom were out of that house without telling Luke anything.
Tael just wanted him to feel pain like him, so he pushed through and moved on to start a new life with his mom in Kalius, a big city with the highest of businesses. Taels mom even tried to give him a chance to go see Luke before they got on the road, but Tael just said keep driving.
The two went on to start a new life while Luke sat behind his gas station waiting for Tael to come to see him again so that he could apologize for whatever he had done that night.
Back to regular…
Luke was sitting behind the station waiting on Tael whom he knew wasn't going to come because he was still mad at him. Luke thought the boy would be back once he just cooled off a little bit, so he waited a couple of days for the boy to come back.
It had been a couple of days and he was jumping to all these conclusions that Tael was just taking another trip or he was trying to surprise him with something.
Tael was all this man could think about for the longest time ever even though he hadn't seen the boy in weeks. But he still had hope so he waited and waited every day. His books were actually starting to grow dust because he hasn't touched them in weeks because he wasn't getting sleep thinking about Tael day to day.
Luke just had a positive attitude all the time and he knew that soon he would see the light at the end of the tunnel with a 14 year old boy named Tael.
Luke knew he would come back. After all, they made a promise. A promise that meant the world to Luke was on the verge of being broken. Even though he knew after everything Tael would never leave him....
....again.

Please let me know if you like the change of povs and the way they spoke without me saying "said". This chapter was pretty freaking long. I'm proud of myself. I said "but" so many times though.
