After finishing his statement, Wen Jue planned to leave.
He had initially heard the roar of the oxen beast during his sleep, realizing someone had unintentionally provoked the creature. He had come out to drive away the beast that had disturbed his sleep, intending to return and catch up on his rest.
Aqi stopped Wen Jue, "Where are you going?"
Wen Jue looked at Aqi in bewilderment, "What's it to you?"
Aqi's cheeks heated up, she thought to herself how fortunate it was night; the darkness would hide her blush.
This baffled Wen Jue even more, "Why are you blushing?"
Aqi stiffened, she had forgotten that beastmen had night vision!
Having been directly called out by Wen Jue, Aqi felt even more embarrassed. The tiny bit of affection she felt for him for saving them vanished into thin air.
Hai Qin quickly stepped in to steer the conversation, "We are from the Mermaid Tribe on a training excursion. I'm Hai Qin, she's Aqi, and you?"
