Chereads / Pack's Secrets: The Alpha / Chapter 4 - Rough Meeting

Chapter 4 - Rough Meeting

Awkward. That is the only word that can explain how things were between Tilda and Annabelle.

"Alpha Grey," Anabelle said after two minutes of silence with Tilda was not moving from the spot she was standing. "I don't know what to say." She laughed nervously.

"Let's start with are you feeling okay?" Tilda said carefully. She wasn't still sure about what got Annabelle bloodied and unconscious like that.

"I am good, I guess." She whispered the last past but Tilda heard it perfectly with the wolf hearing.

"Are you sure?" She pressed and then moved a little bit closer to Annabelle.

"I bet you are wondering what got me like that." Annabelle smiled a sad smile. "I―I don't think that I am ready… is that okay?"

"Yes," Tilda said and sat next to Annabelle's bed. "Yes, of course, it's okay." She confirmed her words when Annabelle looked at her carefully as if judging if she meant it or not.

"Does my mother know?" Annabelle asked. "I heard her scent and the others. They are here right?"

"Yes, all of your family is safe here with us." Tilda nodded. "But what do you mean? This that you are awake or the fact that we are mates?"

Annabelle's cheeks turned to a light shade of red and she tried to hide it from Tilda but failed miserably. Annabelle mumbled something like the second one.

"I didn't really tell her," Tilda said. "She overheard me when I was talking to my Beta, Oliver."

"Beta Blair?" Annabelle looked up at the mention of Oliver. "Blair is here?"

"Yes…?" Tilda raised one of her eyebrows. "Do you know him?"

"He has… connections in my mother's pack," Annabelle said. "But that's his secret."

Tilda nodded and didn't press anymore. She jumped to the topic that Oliver was working on. "You asked about your mother…" She left the ending, hoping that Annabelle gets what she wants.

"Yes." Annabelle sighed. "She is kinda…"

"Homophobic?" Tilda offered. "She seemed to be like that, no judgment though."

"Not completely." Annabelle gave Tilda a shy smile.

"What does that mean?" Tilda asked, obviously confused. "your mother is homophobic but not homophobic?"

"Ever since I came out, she tried to change her mind about the LGBTQ+ community," Annabelle informed.

"Oh," Tilda said. Nothing else came to her mind.

"But Tilda," Annabelle and Tilda smiled at the same time when she said her mate's name for the first time. "She won't try to make any of us reject each other."

"Well, she looked like she wanted to," Tilda mumbled grumpily but Annabelle smiled at her.

"I guess she was hoping that it would be all a phase and I will get a male mate." Annabelle shrugged. "Looks like it wasn't a phase after all."

"Never is," Tilda grinned when he remembered some inside joke with Oliver. "Never will."

"I wanted to see her face." Annabelle smiled mischievously. "I bet it was priceless."

"I can show you." Tilda offered quickly without even realizing it.

"You can?" Annabelle said as she raised her eyebrows in confusion. "How?"

"It's one of the pack's secrets be careful about it," Tilda said. "Most of the people in my pack are gifted with beyond supernatural powers. My Beta, My Delta, Most of my Omegas. We are all gifted."

"Wow…" Annabelle looked at Tilda with admiration. "The rumors about your pack being the strongest is really true after all."

"Never trust any rumor, Annabelle," Tilda warned her softly. "I am sure there are stronger packs. No one can be the best."

"Fair enough." Annabelle nodded. "So, what is your power?"

"Multiple ones but I can't say any of them except my power of giving others visions that I created or saw."

"Why you can't say the others?" Annabelle asked.

"You sure are a curious mate," Tilda said but she was happy. She enjoyed a talkative person's company more than someone too shy to even look at her. A challenge to sit her in her place when she goes too high is a good change for the Alpha that no one dares to say no to. "There's an oath that we can't break. We mention the powers only if we have to."

"What happens if you don't?" Anabelle asked another question again. Her eyes sparkled in the sunlight and her hair cutely covered her round face. "What if someone breaks the oath?"

"Their wolves will go rough," Tilda said. "Not the rough that we know and your family was. That kind of rough that destroys the human parts and leaves nothing but a bloodthirsty beast in there."

"Too much information for a day but I guess my mind can handle a vision of my dear beloved mom getting the news of my female mate," Annabelle said mischievously as another smile appeared on her face.

"Give me your hand," Tilda said and chose to not mention the blush that again, found its way toward Annabelle's cheeks.

Annabelle did as she was told. As soon as their hands touch each other, the spark was sent toward their whole body. The feeling of touching your mate for the first time…

I can get used to this. Tilda thought and smiled as she intertwined their fingers.

Tilda focused her mind on Amanda's face when she accidentally received the news of Tilda and Annabelle being mates.

At first, Annabelle saw different colors mixing. A picture with poor quality got created in her mind and soon the blurry picture turned into her mother's shocked face. After a little while, it vanished and Annabelle opened her eyes to meet Tilda's.

"That was amazing!" Anabelle said. "Your power and my mother's face, both."

"Hopefully we will see the other powers soon," Tilda said proudly. "You are the pack's Luna after all."

"So, you really are not going to reject me," Annabelle said with a little smile.

"I never planned to." Tilda smiled too. "Never think like that ever again. You are my mate and a mate will never leave the other one. That's a rule by the Moon goddess that's meant to not be broken."

Annabelle closed her eyes and leaned forward. Tilda mimicked her actions and did the same. Their hearts beat loudly as they moved closer until Annabelle could feel Tilda's breath tickling her nose.

This was a moment that they were going to remember for the rest of their lives. A moment to cherish all the times. This will be the first kiss between two mates.

"I have news!" Oliver shouted as he entered the room and as soon as the moment appeared moments ago, it disappeared.

"God damn you!" Tilda growled and Annabelle only laughed at both Tilda's annoyance and Oliver's red face when he realized he was interrupting.

Tilda thought and soon her annoyance faded away.

Annabelle and Tilda looked at each other with a promise in their eyes. An unspoken promise saying that it will happen again.

It has to. Grey said mischievously but for now, they had to wait a little bit longer.
