Tilda never in her entire life thought that she would have rough wolves in her territory. Roughs that are staying in her packhouse with her freaking permission! Of course, she didn't mind the kids and Annabelle―who will soon be a part of this pack―and she still doesn't know how to feel about Amanda but this overly touchy girl…
"I haven't seen you since forever!" Reyhane, the rough girl said and squeezed Annabelle's hand.
Oh, how I wanna rip her throat! Grey growled but not out loud. Or maybe ask to do it. Might as well kill her for a good reason.
Tilda blocked Grey but not because she was being annoyed, more like she was telling exactly what she wants to do, and at this moment that she was gritting her teeth, Tilda didn't need any more encouragement.
"Er, yes," Annabelle said. She looked a little bit uncomfortable. Tiles noted that and made sure to sit on the chair in a good position so if the rough tried anything, she could attack her and protect her Annabelle easily.
"Rough," Tilda called the girl and the rough's eyes looked her from head to toe with dislike. The audacity of this bitch. "What is that you want and how did you track Annie?"
Annabelle looked at Tilda and moved a little bit closer to her and farther from the rough.
"Well, I have Annabelle's scent." The rough smirked. She couldn't be higher than a Gamma and yet she looked so fucking smug and challenging that Tilda seriously considered punching her.
"I mean…" She trailed off for a second and continued. "We had history, right Ann? We were together for like… two years back in high school. You know… scents don't fade easily and Annabelle, darling, your scent will be here for a long time."
"Why are you rough?" Tilda ignored all the shits that she said.
"I'm not." Reyhane shrugged but she looked a little bit shocked that Tilda didn't flip when she said all these things. "I'm just a lone wolf. I chose to not belong to a freakin' pack."
"You're not a fucking loner!" Tilda growled and moved subconsciously toward Annabelle. "I can smell it all over you."
"She's right, Reyhane." Annabelle finally spoke. "You reek of the roughs' scent. I know because I smell the same. Why did you leave your pack?"
"To come and find you of course." Reyhane smiled. "I missed my best friend and ex-girlfriend."
Tilda ignored her comments one more time but in her calm state, she looked more terrifying than ever. "You don't want to speak, do you?"
Annabelle privately tugged Tilda's sleeves and Tilda could hear her unspoken plea, don't hurt her.
Not until I have to. Tilda said and even though Annabelle didn't want Reyhane to get hurt, it was logical of Tilda to not promise that. Even Annabelle couldn't detect what Reyhane wants or is here for.
"Oh, don't worry Alpha Grey." Reyhane smiled innocently. "I'm not going to cause any problem for your beautiful perfect pack. I just have a request."
I'm at my office. Tilda mind-linked Oliver and then said to Reyhane, "I don't bargain with roughs like you."
Okay…? Oliver said and Tilda face-palmed mentally. What am I supposed to do with that incredible piece of information? He said sarcastically.
"I assume Alpha Grey let you in because you were someone I know," Annabelle said. "If you are any threat to this pack, I don't think Alpha Grey will be as kind as she was before."
Bitch, I'm asking you to come because there's a situation. Tilda said to Oliver.
"Come on, Annie," Reyhane smirked. "Don't be like this. You know that you want me here. I am no threat. I mean… what can I possibly do to one of the greatest packs? I'm alone."
Oooooh, sorry. Oliver laughed in the mind-link. I was with Judy, you know? Now I'm on my way.
Tilda groaned under her breath. "I can have you killed or imprisoned in a second. If you even try anything, I won't hesitate to do it myself. So, I suggest you don't do anything that makes this day the saddest day of those who loves you."
"Oh, Ann," Reyhane said with a fake frown and sickly-sweet smile. "This day is going to be the saddest day of your life!"
"Shut up!" Annabelle said. "I've been taking your shit for far too long. I thought you fucking changed and that you were here to make things right but noooooo! You are still the same girl that you used to be and news flash, you're awful."
Tilda looked at her with aww. She didn't like to admit it but her first impression of her mate wasn't someone with a hidden fire. Sure, she suspected it but there's only so much you can learn from someone in less than an hour.
"Don't be so Shy Annabe―" Her voice got cut off by Oliver as he performed his weird thing for the second time in this day. And a second later, he was holding Reyhane's unconscious and limp body.
"She was talking a lot." Oliver shrugged and grinned toward Annabelle's shocked face. "Now if you excuse me, I have a bitch's blood to get dried on my claws that I washed only half an hour ago." He grumbled the last part.
"I didn't know you were gifted!" Annabelle said with aww. "Oh, wait. Tilda told me before. I knew but still… wow."
"Thanks, Luna." He grinned and then looked at Tilda. "So, tell me. what is that you want to know?"
"First," Tilda said. "Stop talking like you live in the 19th century. It's super annoying and―"
"My whole existence is annoying and I take pleasure in that."
Annabelle laughed and Tilda cracked a smile but then she continued. "And second, check her for an act of treason and her reasons to go rough. Also, look if you can find anything about why she is here."
"Okay." Oliver nodded. "Eww, she stinks."
"Of blood perhaps?" Annabelle laughed but then she turned serious. "She's not gonna die, is she?"
"As long as she is not some psychopath who wants to kill us then she'll be fine." Oliver shrugged.
"Okay."
"Now if you two excuse me I'm going to do my horrifying job while you guys kiss and make up." Oliver laughed when Tilda glared and Annabelle's ears turned pink. "Have fun but not too much. Keep it PG please."
"Oh, get out," Tilda said but unlike her harsh words, she was laughing too.
"See ya," Oliver said to the two. When he reached the door, he suddenly paused. Oliver turned back and looked at Tilda with a glum expression "I forgot to tell you but your horrifying awful motherfucker and the dickhead fucktard that you call brother is coming in a day."
Then he walked out. Annabelle stared after him with shock but then she giggled.
"I make sure to call him and tell him you said 'safe trip'!" Tilda shouted and laughed after him.
"Tell him I said 'die, motherfucker'!" Came the far reply that only reached their ears because of the supernatural hearing.
"Blair hates your brother." Annabelle laughed. "And I mean that literally."
"He's been like this ever since we were kids." Tilda shook her head when she recalled the memories. "Alexander always riled him up and did everything he could to make Oliver angry and Oliver always went ballistic and cried. That was until he was seven."
"That sounds like a lot." Annabelle laughed again and Tilda quickly memorized the beautiful melodic sound.
"Oh, it got worse when they grew up." Tilda smiled. "Wait 'til Alexander gets here. Watching them is the only drama that I like to watch. Very amusing."
"I look forward to it." Annabelle said and then smirked, "I don't even feel guilty."
"Never feel guilty for looking forward to their drama," Tilda said. "It can be the best TV show that you'll ever get in your life."
"Mhmm." Annabelle nodded with a shy smile and looked up at Tilda. Then her eyes got a bit distant as she said, "Thank you for umm… not getting angry at me back then."
"Why would I?" Tilda answered. "It was nothing that big. Plus, it was obvious that she wanted to make me angry and there is absolutely no fucking way that I'll get angry just because someone tried to rile me up. I'm not Oliver."
Annabelle laughed a little but then continues with the same expression and said, "What Reyhane… what she said a while ago. It's true. She is my ex-girlfriend. We were together for two years back in high school and I'm not going to lie, I loved her. And even with the way she acted right now…
"I think I still love her but not in the same way. She's someone that I know from my past. Someone that still connects me to the place I came from and even my mom can't do that so I totally understand whatever choice that you make and how you'll think of me so please just be honest and…" Then she trailed off. Probably because of the number of different emotions that she was feeling all at the same time.
"It's okay," Tilda said and took her mate's hand.
"Okay. That I totally don't understand." Annabelle said.
"I know that some people go crazy when they find out that their mate didn't wait for them but I'm not like that," Tilda reassured her with a small smile. "I mean… I was with people too so it would be unfair of me to say anything other than this but I mean it when I say it's okay. I'm not gonna be the awful overly possessive crazy mate. The past doesn't matter that much to ruin what we have right now."
Annabelle's eyes flashed at the last sentence with an unrecognizable emotion. Tilda though recognized it immediately. The secrets that were lurking in the past but she wasn't going to push her mate. Or herself, for that matter.
They stared at each other's eyes and Annabelle finally gave her a reassuring smile.
Oh, for Goddess's sake! Grey whined in the back of Tilda's mind. Kiss her already!
Tilda slowly lowered he head and watched Annabelle as she closed her eyes and breathed. Her lips hovered over Annabelle's without touching.
"Can I?" She whispered.
"Yes." Annabelle slowly nodded with her eyes closed.
And Tilda closed the distance and cupped Annabelle's face while Annabelle's hands rested on Tilda's waist.
Their mouth moved with sync and a slow rhythm. They were meant to be and every piece of them was made to hold and caress the other. That's how they are. Soulmates. Written by the Goddess in the stars.
When they pulled back, both of them were smiling like idiots.
"I like you so much," Tilda said despite the number of secrets between her and her mate. Despite that, they know each other only for a few hours.
"I like you so much too," Annabelle said. Despite everything.
