Chapter 7 - The smell of freedom

After a couple of close calls, and almost crashes, I finally got a hang of the car. I finally saw a gas station and parked the car.

I silently went in and saw some clothes. I quickly grab a sweatshirt since I was only wearing a leggings and sports bra. I take it off the hanger and rip the tag off. I quickly put it on. I saw some cheap sandals and grabbed those too since I wasn't wearing shoes. I put them on and walked to the cash register. Without being seen by cameras and people, I folded the ten-dollar bill and threw it on the counter.

I quickly leave and get back onto the car. I drove for a couple more hours and decided to ditch the car. I knew stealing was bad but I had to.

This jeep was nice and new so I found an old car in the parking lot and parked next to it. I put a note on the jeep saying here is a new car, with the keys in to and unlocked. I went through the car and took everything out and put it into the jeep. I quickly hard wired the small Beatle car and went on my way.

I woke up and noticed I was parked at a Mcdonald's and have fallen asleep. I had no clue where I was, or what state I was in. The clock says 11:30 so I got up and kept driving.

I drove all day until the car said I needed gas, and I stopped at the nearest town.

The sign said welcome to Fernsfeild, I almost laughed at the name.

I had no clue where I was heading but I wanted to get as far as possible from the past. I drove to towards the bus station and ditched the car at the gas station across the street.

I quickly grabbed the wad of cash in my boot, the cash I stole off the guard in my great escape.

I quickly got in line and watched how everyone paid for their bus ticket. There were a lot of places I could choose from.

The sign says I am in Virginia right now, and the options were Las Vegas CA, Chicago IL, Orlando FL, the one that caught my attention was Walkhill New york.

I grew up there, I was born there. I felt a pang of sadness but brushed it off. Do I want to head back to new york, Do I want to get as far as possible? Anyone that worked for my master would know I was trained to disappear and I would travel far, not the opposite. I want to take them down, I will take them down. I guess I will pull reverse psychology on them.

It was my turn in line so I walked up to the lady clerk and put on my best smile.

"Hi, a one-way ticket to Walkkill NY please?" I asked sweetly. I didn't need her to start asking me questions or get suspicious of me.

I knew if anyone tried to figure out where I went my actions and decision would never make sense. I leave then I start to head back. But I also could have tricked them and not actually get on the bus. It will leave them going back in circles.

"That is the first please I heard all day honey and coming right up. What's your name sweety?" I smiled and glad I thought and prepared a name before I got in line. "Max Kelly," I say sweetly. and she clicks away on her computer.

I handed her the money quickly. I was very paranoid, I felt like something was going to jump out at me. I slowed my heart rate and took a deep breath. I did a quick surrounding check with my peripheral vision. I flexed my fingers around the handle of my stolen knife in my sleeve from the poor Ares.

"Here it is safe travels sweety," she says while handing me my ticket I nod and smile at her hen followed the signs to the right bus.

I planned to leave in two minutes so I am glad I made it.

I got onto the bus and sat in the very back left corner. Right next to the bathroom stall, and the emergency exit. I also could jump and go through the emergency exit on the ceiling. I scanned everyone when they walked on, and most of the passengers were older people and families with kids.

No one sat near the back with me which made me smile. I got comfortable and the bus jerked forward, I smiled a little, now my journey begins.
