Chapter 843 - Chapter 843 - Seeking Benefits

Laila had her reasons for doing this. If they kept calling "CUT" because of the newbies' small mistakes, what would outsiders think? It would be seen as unprofessional actors, poor directorial skills, and various other negative comments.

But now, shooting was smooth, fans were excited watching, and the director and crew were also proud of themselves. Isn't that great?

Seeing Laila filming excited the fans, and seeing Batman wreak havoc also thrilled them. However, just before leaving, they realized they hadn't completed the most important task of this visit. They were shouldering the expectations of many people and had come here with the mission to investigate an important matter.

Almost everyone who was selected to visit the set has proudly displayed their invitation letter on Facebook. Meanwhile, fans who caught wind of this are feeling a mix of envy and jealousy, but they also hope these lucky visitors can take the opportunity to find out who will play the big boss villain in the movie.

From the beginning of the movie until now, the choice of the villain boss has been kept secret. Despite several days of filming, they still hadn't unearthed who had caught Laila's eye. Not to mention the fans being anxious, the journalists were equally impatient. But what use was it to be impatient? Crew members who had signed confidentiality agreements would not leak the information.

Those who could follow Laila's pace would definitely not be so shallow. Thinking they could dig out information just by coming here was wishful thinking. As for those who weren't under her, they would also cherish this opportunity. Everyone knew that working with such a great director would be a big plus for their future path. Only those who had lost their minds or were willing to ruin their careers for money would do such a thing.

Since the fans couldn't find out, the invited visitors to the set became the lucky ones. Many of them were contacted by the media and were willing to exchange a sum of money for the secrets of the set, such as who the villain was.

However, as the day of the visit was coming to an end, apart from Batman and some extras, the fans didn't see anyone who could be the villain. A few people wearing masks and fighting Batman could be seen as villains, but they were easily defeated, so they couldn't be considered boss-level villains; they were more like minions.

"Who is the villain boss?"

"Who is Batman's opponent?"

As the fans were about to be sent back, they didn't want to leave the set. Even if they hadn't promised the media any money, as fans themselves, they wanted to know the answer early.

"If you don't tell me who it is soon, I might not be able to sleep tonight." One fan stubbornly sat on the ground, and no matter how the staff tried to persuade, it was of no use.

One person acted up, and others followed suit. Ninety out of a hundred people sat on the bus that was supposed to take them back to the city. This made the crew's staff very troubled. They couldn't possibly knock all these people unconscious and stuff them back into the bus, right?

Laila soon got the message from the fans and knew why they didn't want to leave. But even if they really refused to leave, she couldn't tell them the information. That was a piece of news worth more attention. Revealing it through them was the least profitable method, and she wouldn't do it.

"What should we do?" The staff asked Laila anxiously.

Laila thought for a moment and then pushed Batman out again. "Ask them if they want to take photos or get autographs with Christian."

Christian: "..."

Before entering the set, the staff had told the invited fans that the scenes to be filmed were important, and they hoped they wouldn't make random noises or go to places they weren't allowed to go. Of course, there were no autographs or photos with stars. They could be here, but only after signing a compliant guarantee were they allowed to appear.

Now that Laila allowed them to get autographs and photos, what was there to hesitate about? They surrounded Batman, who was wearing the Batman costume, taking photos and asking for autographs.

After a lot of fuss, the fans finally left. But on the way, they remembered an important question, "Who is the Big Villain?"

It was fortunate to have Christian. He started as a child star and had a way to deal with fans. Moreover, he had enough appeal. Fans liked him and wanted his autograph and photos. For others to achieve this effect, Laila would have to personally come forward.

"Laila, you are..." Seeing Christian sweating profusely, Nolan pointed at Laila, feeling both amused and exasperated, not knowing what to say.

Laila smiled slightly, "Christian, only you can handle this task. Don't worry, after the movie is released, I'll give you a big red envelope."

Christian is a very easy-going actor; he smiled wryly and didn't say anything. He takes his responsibilities as an actor seriously. As long as he's on set, he will follow the director's orders, even if it means dealing with fans as he did just now.

He also knows that Laila's approach is the best way. Otherwise, who knows how long those fans would stick around? Whether or not they were causing trouble, it would certainly disrupt the progress of the movie shoot.

While Christian doesn't mind, Nolan feels sorry for him. He was the actor Nolan had his eye on from the start. Even when he was hoping Laila would take on the role of director, he always added, "Don't replace Christian," showing how much he loves this Batman.

Now that Christian has "suffered," shouldn't he get some benefits back?

"Laila, just a red envelope won't do. Christian has helped you so much this time; you have to give him some other benefits, right? Don't forget, if it weren't for him, the fans who came over would have dug up your Roy."

Of course, this was a joke. Laila didn't want Roy to be discovered, so naturally, no one would. After all, she's the director; she can decide who appears or doesn't appear with just a word.

But this time, Christian did help out. Only he had the influence to divert the fans' attention. If they couldn't produce a star of his caliber, how could the invited fans be captivated?

"No need, really, just autographs and photos." Christian quickly refused. He's not the kind of star who takes advantage of favoritism or acts like a diva. Anyone who has worked with him knows how good-natured he is and that he's a reliable friend.

Likewise, his attitude toward fans is the same. He will go out of his way to fulfill any requests as long as he can. So, signing autographs and taking photos with fans is nothing out of the ordinary for him; he doesn't feel like he's made any special effort.
